Propane tank recertification?

I just went to get my propane tanks re-filled and the super friendly refill engineer said it's a no go!!! My tanks have expired. Where do I get this done, preferably in the south part of town? Or, is it better to just buy new tanks? I'm pretty sure they are the 7.5 gallon tanks.

Mine were on my trailer when i bought it new in 06. I think the date is 05. The dude told me tbey need to be recertified every 12 years but one of my tanks doesn't have a date on it. He couldn't verify it so he wouldn't fill it.

I just went to fill mine last night and the valves on one was leaking so I was only able to get one filled. Should be OK for this weekend running on a single tank. Looked them up and it's like $80 for a new tank at Home Depot. I guess they need to be replaced anyway, date on them is 2005.
