Aug 24th early morning run report

What a great turnout! We had 5 buggies, 2 RZRs, and 4 quads. We got there just before sunrise, got unloaded and we were off. Holy crap. Those dunes are always sketchy in the summertime, but this time was different. Maybe it's just because I wasn't on a quad, but the dunes seemed like they shifted alot. Our normal lines were all weird. It was extremely difficult to navigate but I did my best. The weather was awesome. I think it was in the low 80's or so when we got there and we were able to dune until about noon. It was mid/upper 90's by then. I bet we could have dunes all day, but we got plenty in and were done.

Newly and Chad both did great with their new cars and enjoyed the crap out of them. This season is gonna rock.

ynot's grandson, Garret, had a nice little dismount crash on one of our last runs. He was very lucky to walk away. Other than that, no other accidents to report and no major breakdowns!

Great meeting @@fastony, What a great guy. Very fun to talk to and dune with. We had some great times today. Looking forward to meeting up again.

My buddy Chris rode passenger in my car and started to feel a little motion sickness going on. Well, as we crested the very last dune to head to camp all of his breakfast came up...ALL of it. LOL It was alot. Pics to come. Oh man, I can't stop laughing about that still.:barf:

I love trips like this. What a great day in the sand with some awesome people. It was sad not having sanddunesaddict with us, but I felt like he was there with me on every ride.

Many pics and video to come...

Here's a quickie pic of Newly breaking in his new rail. That didn't take long!

Had a blast! Holy cow this new to me car is awesome! The sand was soft but I liked it even though it was making my car hard to steer and get used to. Lines were sketch as he** but no tracks anywhere so that made up for it. I thought I was a goner when I flew off one 8' ledge, good thing there was no bowl or witches eye, it was still a hard landing but I just floored it and the car soaked it up pretty good. I couldn't be happier! I jumped it over and over, drove it hard, dropped the clutch, pulled a few wheelies, red lined it a few times.... it just kept going strong. Man this year is going to be BAD A$$!!!

I gave Pete my Go Pro SD card and cant wait to see the video!

I also cant wait to see all the other pics of me throwing the front end up as far as it could go.

Glad you made it out, Randy!

Here's a few GoPro screengrabs.

Much respect for Mike and Aaron who did a damn fine job of avoiding my roost all morning, but watching the GoPro footage clearly shows it's impossible to avoid getting blasted or wearing that haze of sand that gets sh*t out from my paddles. LOL

I am super pumped how my car is running since I did the motor work earlier this year. It never once got over 180 degrees and it ran like a sumbitch all day long. This shot is me pulling away from Newly and Chad (to the right of the frame). Looking forward to the season!

awesome pics and looks like yall had a killer time. I like how Raprider seems to always get the shots of people rolling over or crashing. I am not riding in front of him ever again. :headbang1: Just saying may be an omen. He already got me once or twice before. Hope your buddy grought an extra set of clothes. :barf:

I was reading this, looking for the pics of puke all over the side of the car, and saw him kneeling there. The car's all clean, and I thought, weak pics...and then I scrolled down a lil more......

It was an awesome trip. I'm glad I went. Looking forward to this season, and the off weekends when I get to ride. Holiday's will be all about working on vendor row.

The dunes were very soft in spots, and had pushed around quit a bit. Nothing super scary though.

I think I need to get back into Dumont mode with too much Coral pink time slowing me down. At the end of last season I felt like I was keeping up fine, but this time I was doing it, but it felt awkward.

Sucks Garret crashed and had to stop riding from the bent steering stem, but at least nothing was broken. Not sure what it is with the Gopro and getting crashes. Mike drives in front of me all the time and he doesn't crash so maybe the curse just avoids him...

I got my videos, I haven't gone through it yet. The Nerf bar camera got some video but it was really shakey and not really usable.

I only saw one holding down the canopy when I got back. Someone said before you left you came over and grabbed one or two that we were using. I'll have Newly check his truck again.

Garret grabbed the one that was on the front of the canopy and was hooked on to Newley's truck tool box. No big deal

It was just a belt test to make sure you were properly strapped in:)

I had such a killer time! Shake down run did it's purpose and I found the couple things that needed replaced. Trans axle seals fixed, installed new ones. Limit straps installed today. Leaving for Flagstaff Cinders Thursday around 10am.
