  1. don't forget the toilet paper!....don't ask me why i say that...BTW, why DO we need clean shorts if we are going for an ambulance ride?
  2. in hesperia now.....you know what to do if you want to claim them...describe 'em.

  8. we will be there near B/R 3. i haven't had the sandrail out in 5 years, sooooo lookin' forward to shakin' out the cobwebs! wade, brendablue, grandma, and my sons zach and joe will be along.
  9. i see i put this in the wrong place....it's been a while.
  10. talked to wade today and he says he's going, so i most likely will go for a daytrip or sumthin'....sat nite is victor valley 4 wheelers christmas party....and that's where i spend most of my off-roading times lately....miss the dunes and have been out twice this year already, and planning to get there more...might even pick up a longtravel with V8 or honda power if i see one too cheap to pass up....hope to see you there pete...and several OTHERS too!
  11. as far as hearing the starter working while it was burning, that could have been caused by wiring(starter and power wires) melting together within SECONDS of the fire starting. hearing a starter cranking over on a burning engine should in no way be a SURE thing that there was a "bad starter"....but it DOES warrant investigation.
  12. i will be out there with wade in his blue and yellow desert dynamics LS7 powered buggy and a couple renegades. he camps at bathroom....5 or 6 is it?...the one across the road from where the camp hosts used to park....that one's 10 i think...so the bathroom across the entrance road from 10.....been a while since i been out, but sold another house, so will have MONEY AGAIN for awhile. we will look you up pete, hopefully we can do some duning....can't take too many chances with a hunnerd thousand dollar rail that aint MINE though...hee hee
  13. came upon the rangers working on a guy sat night nov 2, saturday afternoon. saw he had been riding a black banshee. looked like he had stuffed it into a dune on a very abrupt bottom and it got on top of him. one guy had seen the bike and by the time he got there it had been on him quite a while and he couldn't breathe during that time the guy thought......just guessing, but i think probly broken ribs and brain damage from no oxygen for too long. he was labored breathing and they had to transport him to the copter on his side...probly cause his lung was full of blood? didn't look like he might make it? i sure hope for the best outcome for him. that's about all the info i can come up with....oh, yes. they did find his celphone so they could notify his family. so there's a lesson here.....always carry your ID with you when riding, or at least a celphone so they can find family.
  14. looks like i will make an appearance for at least saturday, but probly fri nite thru sunday afternoon.
  15. should be picking up a couple relatives in st george, bringing grandma with her toyhauler, and my son says he's coming out thurs or fri. with his can-am 450....so....should be a fockin' BALL!.....thanks for the good wishes, all.
  16. will be staying in the meadow. taking the baja x and some 250's. home will be our 2002 coachman 24 foot. look us up if yer there.
  17. the sandrail was picked up by the owners yesterday. previously i said i couldn't have found the owners without glamisdunes. but i forgot to mention i couldn't have done it without dumontduneriders either ....again, thanks for all the help and support!
  18. yes, i know there's a couple boneheads over there that can't read...there's never a shortage of people willing to engage their mouth before engaging their brain....but they are to be forgiven......i figgered when i first posted i would have several irate victims asking to look at it to see if it was theirs, asking me to send pictures of it to them, that sort of thing.... after i put 140 miles on my car to go get pictures and i started looking for an owner it only took maybe 15 minutes tops to find the owners, but i couldn't know it was them until i saw the pictures several days later(even then i couldn't be sure until talking to him)....i got no way of knowing weather there was one or twenty playtechs (if it even WAS a playtech for sure)stolen in the last several years in california....i wasted a LOT of time continuing my search....i saw posts where stolen sandrails were modified to make them not look like the one they had stolen so they could list it for sale..i had visions of the cops showing up at my house to then lead them to it in handcuffs...just glad it's over for me....i don't know what it is about glamisdunes.com, but i tried to register there several years ago so i could see pictures on that site and couldn't back then either...i could read the thread, but not see pics...i still couldn't get in there several days after i found the owners. bottom line is we couln't have found them without glamisdunes.com , so i tip my hat to them......and to any law enforcement looking at this thread.....google can be your friend if you will just USE it.
  19. BTW....i would hope that EVERY PERSON HERE would have done the same thing i did.....thanks to all for the help.
  20. all three of us met in o/c sunday and this will be resolved on friday....with in my opinion 95% probability we got a match......they just have to travel to where the rail is now to compare notes......one lesson here is to have a serial # on your rail and register it....without that you got no way to prove it's yours.......the REAL hero here is the guy that has the rail in his possession right now. he made MUCH effort to find an owner, but wasn't involved in the hobby, so didn't know the proper way to do the searching.....he could have made this thing run or parted it out and it never would have made it to the owner ....then he agreed to one last step to let me find the owner. how the cops didn't find the owner is unconcienable.....they didn't even try is the answer.
  21. after talking to the guy it looks like it's the one...we meet in costa mesa sunday to swap pics. i'm thinkin 90 percent we got a match..............
  22. well, i just looked at pictures i took from 50 feet away in a locked/gated property and realized theirs is a 4 seater and this one's 2 seats. i didn't get close enough to see if the seats were just removed, or if it was always a 2 seater. still could be it, but just need to see a good picture from the back/top side....called the # on the g/d site and left message....so when i hear from them i will let y'all know the status.
  23. if i could see the back better it would confirm yes or no....front sure looks like a match, although it looks much lighter than the other one. can someone please contact them and tell them to email or call me? i can't get on g/d dot com, even though i registered there?
