  1. I don't have a BBK and I never thought I had overheating problems and I just installed a temp gauge and luckily I was right. I was in Glamis around New Years eve and just cruising around my temps were about 180. A couple of rides up Oldsmobile and the temps went up to about 195 and quickly came down. On a long, hard dune run my temps got up to 205/210 and stayed there until we stopped and the temp went down fairly quickly. The only "cooling" addition I've made to my 2009 Teryx is a DASA water impeller, which I think works very well and is only about $60. I've also heard of others taking their stock Teryx radiators to a radiator shop and converting it to a triple pass so the coolant stays in the radiator longer. I'm not 100% on the price, but I think the radiator mod costs around $150 or so. Good luck.
  2. The road was still in good shape on Friday as well.
  3. Teryx4 New Kawasaki Teryx4
  4. I just got the UNI filter with billet adapter from Long Travel Industries. It is much better than stock.
  5. I have an Edelbrock carb for a 2004 Suzuki Z400 for sale with the headstay, manuals, 19E needle, throttle cable and extra twist throttle. The carb could use a cleaning and its missing the check needle for the float adjustment (figure 12, page 8 of the manual). I'll take $135 shipped for all of the above. I have a used Sweetquads CDI. I am pretty sure it is just a rebadged Pro-Com CDI for 2003-2004 models. It worked great when it was installed. I sold my quad so I put the original back in for the sale. I'll take $40 shipped. I also have an engine cover that I'll let go for $15 shipped. I take paypal. Thanks
  6. I bought my Teryx from Chapparral and the process was fairly painless with good, not great service. Just my $.02.
  7. My kids and I rolled in on Saturday at about 7:00pm and pitched our tent next to bathroom #6. I have a 5th wheel trailer, but I bought it several years before I got into the desert/dunes scene. I forgot how much I hate sleeping in a tent, but that's besides the point because I wanted to dune my teryx with my kids. I was actually surprised there were so few people, since it was still spring break week. We still had a great time and didn't do anything crazy since we weren't duning with anyone. I know it's not the best idea, but except for a trip to the north pole we didn't stray too much past Banshee Hill and Comp Hill area. I let my kids (12 year old daughter and 10 year old boy) each drive the Teryx out in the flats near the vendor area to get an early start on how to handle driving offroad. We left Sunday afternoon and had a great time.
  8. I have a $2000 off coupon for a MCX-Turbo kit for the Teryx. I have already okayed it with them and the coupon is transferrable. I would like to try to get an MSD unit for my Teryx in trade. MCX is currently running a sale of $1000 off one of their kits, so lets do some trading and you could get about $1600 off one of their kits instead of just $1000 off. Pete
  9. I love my Teryx. I used to have a quad, but my wife and kids didn't ride. I had a buddy who used to have a 4 seat Rhino and my kids loved riding in it. Now with my Teryx, new cage and rear bench seat I can take my kids riding with me and it has been great. We have been out to the desert, dunes and some mountain trails. It has been some great family time.
  10. My buddy and I picked up a Teryx on October 30 and we have taken it out several times, but yesterday was the first day in the dunes. We bought a new four seat cage and rear bench seat with safety harnesses all the way around. My buddy couldn't go out so I took my two kids and one of their friends out with me. The Teryx did great and the kids had a blast :beer_bang: . Their favorite part was running all the way up Banshee Hill and then flying down. We did the run out to the :beer_bang: and stayed in the smaller stuff most of the day. We also did the OHV trail (forgot the name) near the entrance and the kids liked running through the canyons. The eight hours of total driving (there and back from Anaheim) were well worth the day in the dunes. The power of the Teryx in stock form is more than enough for the OHV trails we ride near Silverwood Lake and even out in the desert. The sand is a whole different story. I see why people get big bore kits and other performance products.
  11. Did a banzai trip out for the day on Friday (day after Thanksgiving) and the road seemed pretty good. I'm just pulling a 10' trailer with a Teryx on it, but at 25 MPH the ride wasn't too bad.
