  1. Hey guys (whoever is even reading this lol), our plans to feed everyone on Saturday fell through so you are on your own for lunch. Sorry! but we'll still be doing the raffle around 12:30/1pm. The rest of the weekend's format remains the same. Details on the news post.

  2. The next buggy roundup is right around the corner. We are doing it again Easter weekend! It's the perfect way to close out the season. Come out early and dune with the crew. Many of us will be there Wed or Thursday. The Saturday schedule is close to the same as usual. (See event link below for details).

Want to help contribute towards the tradition? Bring out some donuts or whatever for cars & coffee on Saturday morning. Also...we'll have some prizes we'll be raffling off on Saturday so if you have anything you want to contribute towards that, bring it out and hit me up when you get there.  Any and all help is appreciated. Looking forward to seeing everyone and seeing some new faces this year.

  3. Welcome back! And no problem combining accounts. I remembered your screen name from way back. It's crazy the things I remember but much more important things just seem to slip away. Dave right?

  4. I want to thank everyone once again for coming out to support the buggy roundup! We had a great turnout of about 56 cars. Camp was huge as usual but the giant fire, thanks to Leonard the firewood man, helped bring everyone together and that is going to be a regular thing from now on. The dune rides were a blast and every ride we had a huge group. It's aways so cool to see all those buggies ripping through the dunes. There was a little carnage here and there, but not too bad overall. Huge thanks to our friends Jeremy & Kristi at Roadrunner Powersports for cooking up tacos for the entire camp and to JR and his wife for the rice and beans! Everyone loved the tacos and it was a great way to bring the crew together to raffle off some fun stuff. I really appreciate everyone who donated some cool stuff to give away. It's everyone's efforts that help make this trip was it is every year. I had a blast and met some awesome people this trip. Buggy Roundup has become a really fun crew of amazing people. We plan on doing it again in March so stay tuned for that date. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

  5. It's almost time for Buggy Roundup 11! And even better news, highway 127 is set to open Dec 4th with one-way pilot car operations, so for California peeps this means you don't have to take the long way around!
There will be more duning than ever before. Plus on Saturday we are planning on the same good times we always have with cars & coffee, some raffle prizes, TACOS for lunch and more duning. So if you have a buggy or just want to be part of the fun, come out and join us. Please RSVP in the link below so we know to expect you. Also post up in the comments here that you are going and we'll add you to the Buggy Roundup chat group as well for more updates.

  6. Ok so here is the plan for Buggy Roundup. It is still on for Dec 8-10, 2023!

However...if you cannot make it in Dec because of the highway closure or whatever the case, don't worry. We are planning on having a SECOND Buggy Roundup at the end of this season. It will likely be in March if the road is fixed by then. We can do nothing but wait and see. But for now, the original Buggy Roundup is still on. We are planning on the same good times we always have with cars & coffee, a small raffle, and even more DUNE TIME this year. So come out and join us.

  7. I just got word that season passes got sent out to vendors today. Well, at least overnight to Johnny Walker RV in Vegas. I would guess most other vendors will have theirs soon too. I'm not messing around with that online pass this year. The dates were wrong last year and they never fixed it. Nobody ever even looked at my paper pass anyways but still. I'd rather have an actual pass in hand this year.

  8. Originally Buggy Roundup was scheduled for Dec 8-10 this year, but since the highway will be closed until possibly Dec or even January, we'll likely have to push it into January this season. As it gets closer and we can decide on a date that'll allow duners from the Baker direction (CA people), I'll get it posted up.

  9. The 127 opened up today on the Tecopa side.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues $9M emergency work on State Route 127 (SR-127) to repair roadbed, pavement, backfill shoulders, armor erosion embankments, repair drainage, remove debris and address other structural damage sustained by recent monsoon storms.

Contractor crews are in the area clearing debris, performing roadbed repair, drainage repair and various other recovery efforts. At this time, the north-side only of the route from County Line to Dumont Dunes Rd. has reopened. The route remains fully closed in both directions, just south of Dumont Dunes Rd. due to severe undermined roadways and to allow for environmental mitigation operations to continue. The timeframe of a full route reopening remains to be determined. Emergency repair work is expected to continue through spring 2024.

Please adhere to road closure signage to allow for safe transport of equipment and crews. Together with partner agencies, Caltrans continues working to determine a full route re-opening as soon as possible, with safety in mind.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for those of coming from Vegas or through the Tecopa route, all is well. It's coming from the Baker side that's jacked. Anyone hear different?

Correct, but it'll only be open from that direction (Tecopa) after Oct 14th. Baker route will be a couple of months. That's what we've been told from Caltrans.
