Got to the D on Thurs. afternoon and after unloading met up with the Potts family for a trip to North pole. Later me and friends from camp took all the kids to the small dunes, also thats where the wife likes to ride and i let my boy ride the rappy for his first time on the dunes, Which i have to say was pretty darn good except he is still learning shifting and what gear hes in. On friday, me and my boy made a bunch of dune rides. On Sat. pretty much the same, meet and greet, we didnt stay long, cold and getting blasted. We went for a cold ride on Sun., ate breakfast and packed up and left around 11:00am. I didnt really go and meet any DDR peeps as i spent most of my time with my boy as he was excited for his first time. All in all, me and family had a awesome time.

There were quite a few real good running 4 strokes out there.I was surprised considering it seemed like a smaller weekend.Roy had everyone covered though for sure as far as 4 strokes went and even had some big banshee owners recognizing what was up.He broke me off big time.

I was only there one night and one day.. eve and new years day... I guess I missed all the good stuff. :beerpint:

Two observations I have are

My wife has never in her life made a baked potato :hungry:

She has also never been to the top of comp at Dumont either :beerpint:

Ohhh and now for a few pics.....

well i started my new years at dumont early this year. I rolled in to the D on tuesday afternoon. I camped with friends at the Loose Screws on vendor row with my bro and some peeps. My bike is still down, but i borrowed a friends crf450. everything ran great and we had some fun. great new years parties!!:drunk: I had some other friends camped out there too. I went and visited them on thursday followed by a sandrail ride in his 800 horse powered LT :ah: we got to comp ran the hill and went through the witches eye at the top at about 100! :hungry: broke the U-Joint on the rear passenger axle, the trailing arm bent, the tire folded in and caught the shock, bent the shock, got the car to the bottom. by that time the whole trailing arm and heim ripped off. :beerpint: There was all kinds of people watching and helping and if any of these peeps is a DDR Thanks again! much appreciated!! :porn: a lot of cameras taking pictures, if anyone has them post them up I would love to have them for the record. went for one more ride Firday morning and started to pack up. headed out Friday afternoon. Great week (except my buddy's rail)

not the best weekend for me. we rolled in thurs afternoon and went on some pretty good night rides. the best night rides for me by far. but friday morning came and my buddy figured it would be a good idea to go hit some jump he found last trip. it was right around the corner from comp, sort of on the way to the south pole. it was a really good jump and i was hitting it around 4th untill a crowd started to gather and i said what the hell. so i clicked up to fifth on my bike and ended up eating it really hard. my shoulder dislocated pretty bad but i thought i popped it back in. well by sat morning i realized something was wrong because i was still in severe pain. so i drove to the pahrump hospital where i got xrayed and was told it was still not in the socket. eventually they knocked me out and popped it back in after at least a day and a half of it being dislocated. then the doc told me i needed surgery and sent me on my way. my whole weekend was pretty much gone from this but i still toughed it out and hung out at camp and comp for the rest of the weekend  . hopefully next trip goes smoother. :beerpint:

The poor people who bought into that idea and now they have to deal with all these problems.

My first post....

I registered for this forum over a year ago when I was considering going out there, and then just plain forgot about it. A guy mentioned it to me last week, so I goggled it up spent time trying to find my user name, and here I am.

I might know some of you as I have the red sunglass trailer on vendor row. I know I talk to hundreds of people every day I'm out there.

The wife and I headed out there on Tuesday. The crowds were better than the Christmas week. I wish I could take off into the dunes like you guys as I'm stuck during these busy weekends working the trailer.

New Years eve fireworks and rockets had the three pups barking half the night, so I only got about three hours sleep. But what the heck, everybody was having fun. I was happy to see the day time temperatures creep up as it was freezing out there at times...at least for these old bones. The wind is usually my enemy as it covers everything in the trailer with dust.

Speaking of wind..Saturday the wind began howling pretty good. We had planned on staying through Sunday, but my internet connection told me that the weather was not going to be either warm or cozy Saturday night or Sunday. So we packed up and headed back home to Pahrump at 3PM. I wasn't the only one exiting as there were quite a few rigs heading out at the same time. One poor fool blew past me and the ranger checkpoint without bothering to show his pass I guess. Because he was pulled over by the rangers with lights flashing before reaching the highway. Then on the other hand, maybe he was pulled over for speeding. The access road was better than I saw it anytime this season. I usually creep along with the motorhome and trailer on the access road.

We're going to head out there on MLK weekend and see if it is any better than last year. The weather was poor last year if i remember right and crowds rather thin.

was a great trip! BIG THANKS to who ever the peeps were that brought one of my pups back to our camp (fireworks scared her and she got loose at NIGHT!) it was way cool that they noticed us walking the healers and new what camp she came from, i was bummed as we started going camp to camp. i do think she enjoyed the rhino ride back. LOL. turned my back for five minutes and she slipped out of her collar and was gone. well I'm to tired and lazy to post pics so i will just toss a link up.

What color was your buddy's rail? We saw some people camping next to us, checking out a rail that I think had a purple cage.

Its candy red with blue bead locks and blue and silver tribal flames. They were camped by bathroom 3.
