BIG RICK Posted October 26, 2010 Share Posted October 26, 2010 question, I had to repleace my drivers side spindle or knuckle. so i pulled the nut off and slipped everything out and off i put everything back on and tightened nut 255 torque but now it seems theres resistance on the spinning of the rotor now should the rotor spin freely. should i have greased the inside of the spindle or something???? it almost feels like its spinning something in the transfer case please help. i do have it in 2 wheel drive now. i made sure. please call me i need to fix this before the weekend. halloween trip Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BIG RICK Posted October 27, 2010 Author Share Posted October 27, 2010 are you talking this nut? this is for a 2006 but yeah WOW I would have never thought it was that high!!!! why did you take it off? i took it off because the old spindle/knuckle was bent 2 inches where the tie rod mounts to it so i purchased a new spindle with new bearings and installed it. i also added new heim joint tie rod ends to beef it up. also added new full (gusset kit) on the front a-arms upper and lower frame brace. i put it at 190, and yes i have that pic in my book as well. it eneded up at the same spot as it was before. tonite once i put the wheel on it spun easier. i guess it was because the bearings were new? but it spins easy with the tire on. somewhere in the book it said 255 thinking it was in the back of the book i do know the difference between ft lbs and inch lbs. im thinkin it will be ok. thanks for the input and help. see you at the dunes........ Rick I wasn't saying you didn't know the difference. It's just sometimes those things can be overlooked. I've done it myself. Glad you got it handled. The weekend is almost here! The weekend is almost here! not a problem pete, what the book does say is the back spindle nut is torqued to 255 tho the front at 190 ft lbs got everything buttoned up tonite. i will give it a once over check all bolts again before i load it up. see ya out there....
