moto786 Posted October 31, 2011 Share Posted October 31, 2011 I had a decent weekend. Killed a cv.....samurai made the rescue mission . If anyone found a kick starter.......it might be for my banshee, I would love to have it back. I built a new car for my kids, and they both drove, and had a blast. The bad news......last night, a car tumbled down comp........about 20 times from the reports. Well they camp with me, and were right behind my trailer. It was a black SU car with red/blue/yellow graphics powered by a 2.5 turbo suby. The owner was not in the car, he stayed behind in camp with me. We were talking probably when the accident happened. It was one of his sons, and a friend. Neither died, as we heard stories today. Both were ejected, neither were belted in. One got a nasty cut on his keft leg/ sticthes.......and bandaged. He was back at dumont by sunrise. The other was injured, and is at umc. So far it sounds like a full recovery is in his future. He is pretty banged uped, and Im waiting to hear an update. The car is destroyed. It rolled basically from the top of comp about 3/4 the way down. I was told the hill was closed from about 9 pm till around 1 am.... The cage held up fine, two cracks from my visual, some slight bending in the chassis. he big deal, was the light bar. The light bar caved in the roof rt on there heads, so it may have been dumb luck that they were ejected. The light bar pushed the roof in 6 to 12 inched right at the head rests. So check your light bars, make sure they are wider then your roof rails, so they cant come in. i was the second person to get to the car car held up great sad to see them get tossed out tho Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They figure 3 1/2 people per vehicle. 12,000 foflks??? He did say it's the biggest Haloween in some time. No fatals for a change, just a couple of bad wrecks. Good to see a lot of you out there this weekend!!! The dogs and I had a good trip.........except Wed. It blew like crazy!!! Awful smooth dunes Thursday and Friday before they got torn up!! Donald Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 Great weekend. Left home friday morning, got to pahrump, and my roommate had a tire almost fall off the toy hauler. Good thing we were just down the street from big o. Hr and half later we left pahrump. Got to Dumont almost noon. Friday afternoon, my banshee was running great, then we were headed out to northpole and my motor stalled and the kick start was stuck. Towed it back to camp and was gonna work on it saturday morning, i brought tools but forgot one socket that i needed.Other than that, I got a pretty good sun burn, but had a great weekend. jorgeloco Posted November 2, 2011 Share Posted November 2, 2011 Well where to begin, we got to Dumont on Thursday about 4:30 we set camp, and the problems started junior's bike wouldn't start so he performed major carburetor cleaning. After couple of hours he got it working, and we chilled by fire waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Friday we got to a good start went on couple good azz rides and then I chilled at camp for the rest of the day drinking and having a good old time with my friends I haven' seen in two years so much caching up. Saturday I didn't ride just drunk all day and I payed for it on Sunday. We had a few Trick or treaters visit our camp on Saturday night. All and all it was a great trip. DunerDan Posted November 2, 2011 Share Posted November 2, 2011 (edited) Had a great weekend! pulled in Thursday morn and rode ALOT! got to meet some new DDR folks and put a glamis guy trough the ringer on a ride....lol the only ride he could handle. my daughter seemed to really like the dune rides in the rhino, lol my wife said it felt like she put her hands up at one point. (she is 5 mos pregnant) the meet n greet was a little small, just the regulars lol. got to see Pete "freestyle" on the big dune in front of camp will post pics and vids tonight! hawaiian_style Posted November 2, 2011 Share Posted November 2, 2011 We didn't make it there til Friday around midnight, we were going to stay until Tuesday but those dunes were CHOPPAY! Ended up leaving on Monday after a quick morning ride, I've never seen so many whoops behind comp and at the top of the dunes. Too dangerous for my kids, so we packed up and came home. Thank you to all who dressed up on Saturday night and gave us a good show at comp hill, before the wreck that happened. I can't believe how many waves of bikes and trucks kept coming, never seen it that packed before. (Only been coming since 2008) those two guys dressed as di*kheads... WOW...
