Head on crash on Comp Hill Saturday night around 10ish. One quad going up, one going down. I saw they were going to hit about 100yards before they did. Curious if everyone was ok, and I guess i'm not sure how that happened. They were the only two quads on the hill when it happened, they had to see each other. Other than that, it was my first time to Dumont and I had a blast. Its going to make Pismo look like park sandbox.

There was a bad accident on the north end of the dunes on Fri. late afternoon, Not sure exactly what happened but it looked Like 2 motorcycles were involved. Saw the rangers heading over there fast and went to check it out, Saw the paramedics doing CPR on one guy, got a bad feeling and didn't feel like watching. Went back to camp and about 15 min later the fire pickup came out of where they were still doing compressions on him. One of the rangers said the helicopter was coming in, took that as a good sign but heard later he didn't make it. Very sad........

I would love to know the other person involved in this accidents name and number. so I can show him the go pro video of this accident and explain to him how we dont go up the left side of comp as that is where almost everyone goes down. my friend on one of my quads and my son on 2 different quads were coming down comp hill as this guy decided to race up. ok no problem with that but as we all know you cant move or stop as fast going down as you can going up. he never even slowed down like he wasnt looking ahead????? they did try to move farther to the left side at that point he went the same way. idk about you guys but I have been riding at dumont for many many years and every year something happens that blows my mind. this being one of them second being how un helpfull the pos rangers were. they said he was injured and they didnt see a need to get any information from him. that being because they are not the ones out a quad. I just put 4gs into this quad extending suspession all new paddles rims and cams to have someone wreck it and not so much as a sorry sucks. if it was my kid he hit omfg that would be bad. I will get the video up on here as soon as I can so you can see how clear it is he didnt till the last second try to change direction or speed. crushing my new suspenssion bending frame and cracking engine case paddles n 2 rims wow.

other then having to drive my buddy to hospital with broken ankle even tho had boots and a broken arm I had an awesome trip as always and I will be out again soon I just think Im going to drop the holiday weekends do to to many people who never ride being there.<a%20href= <a href="http://s1185.photobucket.com/albums/z355/jaymotorcycle/raptor%20700/?action=view&current=326120_2206626526676_1277790728_31827594_1276881905_o.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z355/jaymotorcycle/raptor%20700/326120_2206626526676_1277790728_31827594_1276881905_o.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Yamaha. I was the one in the buggy that went up after the accident, sorry to hear that your buddy had a broken ankle and arm, as I would have gladly got him down the hill at least. When I was there everybody including your buddy gave me the thumbs up. course adrenaline was flowing and he probably didn't even know he had a broken anything other than a quad, which I gotta say they were both jacked the F up.. Love to see the video as I didn't actually see it happen just that there was an accident and I was already on the move so thought Id come up to see if I could lend assistance..

Videos need to be hosted on you tube, photobucket, etc.

As for your pics, they are probably way too big if they don't upload. Try to resize them down.

This all comes down to common sense. Common sense and general observations siting at comp hill should indicate that most of the traffic flow goes up the right side and comes down the left side. There is no rule you can't go up where the buggy did, but he should have been aware of the dangers going up in the place he did. It is very hard to see people on the hill at night and it sounds like it was a bad call on his part. You can't really start pointing the finger when you go out there and accidents happen. Everyone knows the risks and they choose to take them. There are no roads or ways to enforce traffic flow on a sand dune.

I actually took a pic of the dirt bike accident but can upload from my phone I had a bad feeling when I seen the rangers doing cpr on him non stop even when they drove him off so the air support could fly him out....also on Thursday I believe a rail flipped over on the hills close 2 the bowl, rode my quad 2 see if they were ok & thank god they were, they flipped the rail over & drove off & I guess nothing happens 2 the rail because I saw it on the dunes during the wknd...I also took a pic off that incident..will post when I get my lap top...sad 2 hear the rider on the dirt bike didn't make it RIP..
