It felt so good to get back out and tear up some sand. since my last trip was, a little hot, this was pretty much perfect weather.

I got out there Saturday morning, thanks to work delaying my trip. I hate getting up early.

Everything loaded no worries, 2 hours later, I arrived at 9am almost on the dot. I told Mike i would be there at 9am for a morning ride. The sand was very nice, some good lines, very fun. Met several new people once we were back in camp, it was a big group to me. we went on rides with different people each time, and i have already lost track. I know Dan came with us on the first ride as well.

Mike had to do some surgery on his youngest sons bike so Jodi and I went to Vendors to FINALLY get my new flag, I am now "Sworn To Speed" since there wasn't anything Yamaha for me to get. New flag on, the 90 was fixed up, had lunch then time for a Justin ride out to the North Pole. Fun little cruise, practice some wheelies, and explore a little on the way. Back at camp again and Jared (Mike's oldest) wanted to ride somemore so we headed out toward the back side of comp/ south pole-ish area. Cruised around, found one decent jump spot but not great. As we were cruising we saw a stuck XP and a blonde girl, so we figured we should help out. I did warn them that i was video taping and that they may, or may not be on Youtube later. (if i ever get to editing video again, I am very far behind) Cruised some more, popped over the top of comp, around and back to camp. Nice easy ride, good leader practice for me.

Our last ride for Saturday was a pretty big group, with 3 sand cars, and somewhere around 5 or 6 quads. Lead car, (still trying to remember everyones name) i think it was Brice?? broke the left tie rod off from the steering box just after the flats toward superbowl. Patched that up and he headed back for repairs. The rest of us contiued as sun was getting pretty low. Paul led us up to superbowl, then he had to stop at the top for a look so we all stattered, leaving the other sandcar having to loop back. we finally got back going, and I wasn't really paying attention enough and went between the 2 sand cars. yeah, sorry abou that, I just blame it on being new still and just not knowing/ paying attention. I know now though. Overall we had a good little cruise to North Pole. The trip back was fun with it getting pretty dark and a few riders having tinted goggles. I tried to go the last half with out goggles, and that didn't really help much. Back to camp for the fire, dinner and the fun. Met some more of the people, and BSed a little. I even had time to jump on the kids' trampoline. lol

Sunday, i unloaded my Outlaw for Mike's son Jared as his bikes was leaking oil and not running right. That was bike 2 with issues for mike, along with this Raptor making noises so 3. Jared and I went on a quick ride similar to saturday's to get him used to the bike. He seemed to like it, and it has more power then his regular bike. who doesn't like more power?? It gets a little fuzzy as to who was on the full morning ride, Mike in the rzr, Jared, Jodi, Dan on his bike, and 2 of Dan's friends on bikes. One of the Bike guys crashed over by Talledega, but nothing too bad. No video of that. Cruised more (it was a long Morning ride). Did some jumping over by Banshee hill, then we headed off to look for other jumps by Comp. The bike guys headed off and i led while jump searching. i found one spot, but Mike pointed out another one. It turned out to be probly the best jump spot i've hit. we spent some time there, and got a few photos and some video.

that was a great shot right there, Nice Mike!!

For our last ride Joe Duner came over, and we had another pretty big group. Joe's XP, 3 cars, Mike's Rzr, and probly 6 quads and 3 bikes. we all headed out, and man was that a good ride. I hadn't riden with Joe before, but that was a great mix and so fun. stopped for a bit and BSed, headed back out and lost a quad rider, issue with a wheel i think it was. back at it again, and even had a cool jump in there, i love hitting a good jump in the middle of a run. My last video was 21 minutes, and that was pretty much all duning. Everyone in Mikes family seemed to be having bike Issues, and Jodi's bike was the last. it was a bad one to with the tranny not sounding so good.

Back to camp, and loading everything up for the trip home. It was a great first trip for me. Great runs, Great Jump, some great new people, pretty much perfect weather. Hopefully i will get some video up.

Good accurate report Adam. Despite all the mechanical issues we had a great time. Sand was good and weather was great. Just enough wind Saturday night to clean things up for Sunday. All the pics I took were with Jodi's camera so she will have to post them up. Got some video just never seem to have time to edit these days.

Most definately a great weekend!!!

Weather was perfect.

Great rides

I even got in a sandcar ride

Hit the jumps with Adam

Campfire shananigan's with lots of laughs

Nothing beats a Joe Duner led ride.

Sadness at the possible loss of my tranny, but not sweating it, Mike and Adam will get her fixed up right as soon as they can. I am grateful that I have peeps who can fix her up. I have been lucky with her all the years I have had her, this has been her first break down.

Slackin on the pics, been working some OT since we got back. I should be able to get some up tonight :)

So happy we were able to squeeze an off weekend in between the big ones, so that Mike's littlest was able to get out and dune. He is def a next gen duner in the making.. Justin quote of the weekend "I want a bigger quad so I can ride on the fast rides, but until I get a bigger quad Justin rides are my favorite"

Some pics from the weekend..

the jump on Sunday that Mike found was awesome!! landing was nice, the loop back to hit it was fun. I had a little track going and Jodi and I were both having fun with it. i guess i am getting used to the bigger jumps as I didn't even realize what they looked like. There are a few other photos that mike got, but Jodi has them.

all the performance mods have been good so far. Intake, tuner, and exhaust i am happy with them all. I had a couple weird moments with the bike running this last weekend but overall it seems ok. The extra 10 HP is prefect right now. Making a run up Comp toward the top the bike sputtered, so i shifted down and it seemed ok. I think the bike was running too lean. On one run, i killed it behind Mike from a bit of a panic brake, and it wouldn't start. Battery started to die, turned the key off, back on, and it fired right up. At least it started, and no similar issues before or after that.

I am looking forward to getting the suspension stuff on, should be 2-4 weeks though :( . I am kinda kicking myself for spending the money, as I have been able to keep up in groups just fine. I am hoping the suspension will help in the turns though so i don't have to fight it so much. Also when the dunes get all ripped up hopefully this will help, along with not bottoming out so bad on jumps.
