Cole Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 Tried my generator getting ready to head to dumont but the 5500 wouldnt turn over. I primed it and it primed fine but when i went to start it the 5500 make this buzzing sound like a ALMOST dies car battery. It kept doing it everytime I tried to fire it up. Any ideas? sanman Posted October 27, 2008 Share Posted October 27, 2008 Sounds like dead battery's. Take the cover off on the front on the Onan and you will see a red rubber cover, under that is your battery hot. Hook your truck or jumper box to this and the ground to any metal part on the Onan. Try this and see if it turns over. When you are there check the nut for looseness on the hot cables and corrosion.
