3rd Annual 70cc Regatta at Dumont Dunes

Presented by Dumont Dune Riders, Feb, 5th, 2011

Calling all ATC70 whack jobs! You know who you are. It's that time of the year again to bust out your ATC's for the 3rd Annual 70's regatta presented by DDR! Get that latest Honda ATC70 build of yours finished up. Don't have a newly built 70? Who cares. Then just pull that old rusted out stocker from the shed and clean the carb out and make sure it runs. The idea behind the regatta is to get together with other Honda ATC70 enthusiasts. For most of use, we never grew out of the ATC 70. There is something about them that brings you back in time every time you ride them.

The 70 regatta will consists of 5 different classes; junior, stock, modified, super modified, and unlimited. The junior class is for the kids. It doesn't matter what cc the bike is. As long as they are under 16 years old, they can choose to be in this class. The stock class is your basic 70; ie: no internal mods and just 70cc's. Your modified class will consist of 71-100cc bikes; ie: big bore 70's like the 88cc kits and smaller china motor builds like the 90cc. The super mod class is 101-120cc bikes; ie: mostly the Lifan 107/ 110's, 120's etc up to 120cc. The Unlimited class is anything over 120cc. The sky is the limit as long as it is an ATC70 based trike. After everyone registers and has a wrist band on to race, they will put their bike in the appropriate tech inspection line. Here we will make sure you have your bike in the correct class and you will affix your paper number plate with your number and a class number to follow. (S= stock, M= modified, SM= super mod, U= unlimited). After everyone's bikes are lined up and tech inspection has been done, we'll go over some basic rules and hold a short rider's meeting for all participants.

All classes will compete in a 5 lap track race and drag race. (See schedule) Smokin Al's BBQ will be smoking up some of the best BBQ pulled pork and tri-tip you've ever had. After the races and lunch, we'll line all the bikes up for a group photo and vote on the ATC's for things like cleanest 70, ugliest 70, best theme, etc. We'll hold a raffle with many great prizes to be given away such as ATC70 parts, t-shirts and even a custom ATC70 paint job by painterjoe! After the raffle we'll give out trophies to all the winners from the races.

Additional Event Information

Rules:
1) Don't be a jerk. The goal is to have a great time at this event so don't show up with an attitude or take the races too serious.
2) Every participant MUST be registered, have a 70 Regatta wristband on at all times, and a number on their paper number plate (provided at sign in).
2) All participants must wear a helmet and some sort of ankle protection. SAFETY FIRST!
3) You do NOT need a flag on your ATC in camp or on the track. All races or regatta events are inside camp this year due to stricter regulations.
4) There will be absolutely NO drinking and riding tolerated during the event.
5) Anything that is against the rules at Dumont is not allowed in camp.
6) It is the participants responsibility to be on time for whatever events/ races that are going on. Please pay attention. Ya snooze ya lose!
7) No intentional bumping or crashing will be tolerated. Those who are caught doing this will be disqaulified.
8) Please note: AFTER the event is over (ie: nighttime), there will be some movies and music provided by the Custom Shop on the big screen projector like last year. The music can get a little loud and the movies might include more than "PG" material. If this is not your style, please do not plan on camping in the same circle or have your kids put to bed if you do not want them exposed to it.

Classes

Event area/ Camp:
1) Everyone who is coming out to participate, watch, hang out, whatever...is invited to pull right up and park/ camp with the whole group. That is part of the idea behind the 70 Regatta. It is a bunch of ATC 70 enthusiasts and DDR.com/ GD.com people getting together for a weekend of good times.
2) We need to make camp pretty big since we have so many people coming in so try and pull up somewhat close to the next guy and keep it tight. If you need help parking or have any questions don't be afraid to ask someone at the 70 Regatta in camp for help.

Helpful items to bring:
1) firewood if you have any
2) extra tables/ chairs for lunch time at Smokin Al's- please bring them over to Smokin Al's as soon as you show up
3) If you plan on getting there early enough to help on Thursday or Friday with the track setup, please bring your shovels, rakes, cones, hay bails, CONES, etc....anything that will help put together a killer track!
