Dumont Entrance Pass Prices

Weekly passes are valid for seven days. Season passes are valid from October 1 through September 30. There are no single-day passes.

Holiday periods

Holiday rates or a holiday-inclusive season pass are required during BLM-designated periods around Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Year's, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Presidents' Day. Check the exact dates with the BLM Barstow Field Office before traveling; the holiday period can cover more than just the holiday itself.

Where to Buy Dumont Passes

Online

Purchase weekly or season passes through Recreation.gov. Print your online pass and display it on your primary vehicle's dashboard with the QR code visible, following the instructions on the pass.

At Dumont

Entrance fee machines sell weekly passes only and accept credit cards. You cannot purchase a season pass from the entrance machines.

Local vendors and the BLM

Laminated season passes are available from participating off-site vendors while supplies last, or through the BLM Barstow Field Office. Contact the office before attempting phone or mail orders.

Pass reminders: Passes are for the primary vehicle entering Dumont, such as a pickup, car, or motorhome. Trailers and OHVs hauled in that vehicle do not each need their own Dumont entrance pass. Passes are nontransferable. Follow the identification and display instructions for the type of pass purchased. Online passes are nonrefundable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

California Nonresident OHV Use Permits

If you're bringing a sandcar, quad, dirt bike, or other OHV to ride at Dumont, make sure it is properly registered or permitted for operation in California. This requirement is separate from the Dumont entrance pass.

Do out-of-state riders need a California sticker?

If your OHV has valid registration from your home state, California may recognize it under its reciprocity rules. Nevada OHV registration decals are recognized by California, so Nevada residents with properly registered OHVs generally do not need to buy an additional California nonresident permit. If your OHV is not registered, or your home state's registration is not recognized under California's rules, you may need a California Nonresident OHV Use Permit. A title alone is not registration.

Do I need an entrance pass for my trailer or sandcar?
No separate Dumont entrance pass is required for a trailer or OHV hauled into the area by your primary vehicle. Your OHV must still meet applicable registration and permit requirements.

Can I buy a season pass at the entrance?
No. Entrance fee machines sell weekly passes only. Buy a season pass online or from a participating off-site vendor or the BLM.

Can I buy a one-day pass?
No. The shortest available Dumont entrance pass is a seven-day weekly pass.

Does my regular season pass cover Thanksgiving or New Year's?
Not if you have the $90 non-holiday season pass. You need a pass that covers the designated holiday period.

Does my Nevada OHV sticker work at Dumont?
California recognizes a valid Nevada OHV registration decal. Check the California State Parks guidance for your particular vehicle and registration status.
