  1. I just think since the beginning of time there have been people who take a high road in life and those that choose the low road. I still think that most people have some sense of morality, but the minority of people who have low morals get noticed a lot more than the majority of people who live a decent life.

So I really do not think that the world or country is really any worse sense of moral decay than in previous decades or century's. To me it is a perspective thing. I still think that there are more good people than bad people. I know that is a little bit simplistic but it works for me!!

I agree with you that the masses are of higher morality. My concern is that the less moral have inserted themselves into our government. In doing so, they have collaberated with the media corporations to dumb down and entertain the the masses as they continue to undermine America. Since the creation of the department of education, kids have become less educated. Since the beginning of welfare to help a few, millions now depend on welfare. My concern is more about America being to complacent and placing blame, rather than taking control of our country which was a gift, given by immense sacrifice only to be taken for granted. Thats really what I am talking about.

  2. Well geez it sounds like you want to use this website or at least this thread

to send out far right wing political religious agenda or maybe even propaganda ( I think propaganda is the correct term here).

Even if I agreed with the far right political religious views, I am not so sure that this website is for extreme or any other Political agendas.

For me one of the best things about DUMONT DUNES!!!!!

is that no matter what religion or political affiliations one belongs It never seems to be the topic of discussion...........................................................................................................

Maybe because it is nearly anarchy out there! :dunno::laughoff::clap::blink::blink:

Oh and by the way I am pretty sure that I do NOT agree with the John Birch

society's political agenda. Or their particular version of history. But I will certainly defend your right to stand up and say that they are right!!!

I may be wrong here, but I must say again I am not so sure that this is the right website for any extreme political viewpoints, but that is only my opinion and I like you have the right to express them.

    Ken,

I didnt target this site/forum as platform for launching my political views, espcially right wing. To be right wing or left wing is a blur now. I view it more as your trying destroy America or rebuild America. The point of the video is that America cannot maintain a Republic with morality on the decline. This site is a pefect place for people that witness inmorality. Example: At Dumont, how mnay of us compain about the irresponsible users of the dunes. The stripper poles, trash, rude riding, sewer dumping, etc. This site is about riding in Dumont with a moral responsibilty. It's actually a good place to throw out a positive message. Apparently my appology for the blanket assumptions werent suffice, and so there is still a chip. I thank you and respect you fro acknowledging my freedoms, as I do respect yours. So far several people agree with the message, and we'll just let it go from there. I'm done responding, and will just let this thread maintain or die by itself. Again, Peace.

  3. Well I am 22 min into the video and so far no life changing information (not that I was expecting one) For me it seems to be a refresher course on American history.

Funny thing or more like odd thing about it, people have been saying that America has lost it's way since the creation of this country, pick a year or a time period in our history and it could be only a few or many many people would be complaining about nearly the same things, or voicing their discontent for the state of the world or country.

Imagine the rich southern plantation owners in the later part of the 1800's complaining that "AMERICA HAS LOST IT'S WAY" because they could no longer own human beings as PersonalProperty.

Or maybe they multitudes of men who did not want women to have the right to vote, complaining about ...........here it comes "America has lost it's way"

So, not to ramble anymore, I am not so convinced that America has lost its

    way.

One thing I did learn from the Video was the word Oligarchy

I also did some research and thought I need to find more info on the john birch society, I had a sneaking suspicion that that video was from the far right!!

"John Birch Society was founded in December 1958 by Robert Welch, a retired Boston candy manufacturer who considered President Dwight D. Eisenhower "a dedicated conscious agent of the Communist conspiracy." According to Welch and other society members, coconspirators ranged from Franklin D. Roosevelt to the various chairs of the Federal Reserve Board. John M. Birch was a Baptist missionary and Air Force officer who was killed by Chinese communists in 1945, ten days after V-J Day. Welch never met Birch, but he named his society in honor of the man he called the Cold War's first hero. The society quickly emerged as perhaps the most well-known far-right anticommunist group in the United States. By the early 1960s, the group peaked after enlisting some ten thousand members, including hundreds who sat on school and library boards or held other civic offices. Headquartered in Belmont, Massachusetts, society activists ran campaigns calling for the impeachment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren and the United States' withdrawal from the United Nations. On a more regular basis, the Birch Society publishes a journal, American Opinion, and runs youth camps, book distribution services, and intellectual cadres of "Americanists" scattered throughout the nation. Its members have never advocated violence."

So take what you will from this video!!!!

Birch was right on the money when he called out Eisenhower, Roosevelt and the Federal Reserve. Eisnehower admitted his wrong doings for being pursuaded by the military industrial complex, and in his farewell address he warned us of their mighty power. Roosevelt was in bed with the Federal Reserve (which is a private corporation adopted illegaly) that orchestrated the great depression, only so Roosevelt could borrow billions for the New Deal. Roosevelt also cut off the Japanese' oil supply as Rockefeller (Standard Oil) suggested, then ignored dozens of intellegance warnings that the Japanese were coming to Pearl. Roosevelt was a TOOL. However, the same prefered history books that never mentioned the above, also praised Lincoln for freeing the slaves, when in fact he could have bought all of them for 1/2 the cost of the war for the north and 600,000 lives saved on both sides. History books and crooks prefer hero's not facts. I guess its a preference of education. For me, i'm sticking with Birch and the facts. The Oligarchy has hi-jacked our Republic, I am pretty sure America has lost it's way from the lack of Americanism. Peace-

  4. Well I shall respond................... I had no life altering expectations when I clicked, so poor assumption on your part. But I do tend to have some :dunno: concentrating problems. And another assumption you seem to have made that based on that post I made earlier that I have lost my way, like America, I'll just leave it at that.

Now as far as my short attention span, I did not like the quality of the video as it was presented, too grainy. I could not reduce the size, so I watched and listened for what seemed like a long 8 seconds and said to my self

"self quit watching this eyes straining video and get back to work" Which I did, but again thanks for making blanket assumptions

I'll take my lumps and offer my apologies for the assumptions. The lack of intellegance floating out there does make me assume to much, again I apologize.

The video does start off grainy, becasue I believe the footage used is older 1950's film. It hasnt bothered me, but I can see your point.

To hear some of the idiotic reasons as to why America is in this economic mess blows my mind. And the lack of education floating at there at McDonalds and Wal-Mart scares the hell out of me.

I just can't seem to bury my head and let America be hi-jacked. Again I apologize, and I hope you can bear throught the video, it really is a good watch worth forwarding to the masses.

  5. Hmmmm 29 min video I got thru 8 seconds!!! But thanks for posting!!!

Thats to bad. If you can ever squeeze 30 minutes out of your life, you will see the hipocracy of you not having time. Its not only worth watching, it should be forwarded as often as possible.

The title of my post was "Has America lost it's way". Someone expecting a 8 second life altering experience is a perfect example of how America has lost its way.

  6. Its not the oil companies price gouging, its because the good ol US Dollar is in the toilet. All of the money that people have been playing on for the last 5 years was borrowed money printed by the illegal Federal Reserve. They have devalued the dollar to mere pennies.

In 1964 an ounce of Silver could buy 4 gallons of gas, and today an ounce of silver still buys 4 gallons of gas. Thats the problem when you create money out of thin air, print paper money that has no guarantee.

Our government has allowed the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (an illegal privately owned bank) to run wild since 1913. They have created every bubble and burst. They lend money at interest for the bubble, then foreclose and buy up for pennies on the dollar.

This is how wealth is transfered from the lower/middle class to the upper class.

    Google: America, Freedom to Fascism

Wake up America, the time to revolt is now not tomorrow.

  7. I definately like the new location better. The old location was crazy when you had Moho's and TH's getting stuck, it was ludicrous. I like Doghouses idea of a horse shoe. It does not allow the cruzing thing to happen, especially at high speed. If not the horseshoe, maybe cone off 100'ft from the vendors so cruzing isnt so cool, being so far away. Definately enforced a speed limit. Nice to see people working to make it better.

  8. I personally cringe at the thought of dumpsters at Dumont. I have seen the mess that Glamis has, and the main reason people just leave their bags next to it, is because they are afraid it will tear open when they go to hurl it up into the bin. I have absolutley no problem packing out what I bring in.

    Like many, I would also like to see where all of the money is going. I dont even have a problem paying more if it is needed. $60 for the year is cheap fun. What I would like to see is a series of educational signs as you go through the toll area. These signs should say;

"Please take your trash home with you"

"Please dont leave Comp Hill a mess for someone else to clean"

"Please don't place bottles or cans in your camp fire"

    "No burning of Pallets"

"Pease dont speed in the camping area's, there are small childen riding, and your only making unnecessary dust (Its not my stuff I dont like getting dirty, its whats on my BBQ)"

"Please learn to appreciate this place, even though your parents didnt teach you to respect others and things, someday it will be your turn to teach"

    "Party, have fun, be responsible"

"If there are too many rules for you here, go to Glamis.....Its bigger, has better parties, has trash bins, etc..."

Maybe some of the stores in Baker and Pahrump would be open to allow dumpsters at their location in hopes of attracting more business. Maybe a sponsor of the dunes type deal????

  9. Me and a freind were tooling around looking at rails, and looking for dunefreak to try and get a ride as we spotted a wrecked rail on an open trailer. This thing was demolished. It was a very nce long travel car. We looked it over pretty good. Many broken chassis bars, almost all of the suspension bent or broken. The drivers seat bent, head rest bent, bars bent, steering wheel bent, remaining wheels bent, etc.....

A few minutes later we talk to a teenager breifly, then the owner comes out. The story.

He arrived thursday night. He was in his 40's maybe early 50's. Said he's been duning his entire life, going to dumont since he was a kid. He had just bought this long travel car in september, new. He had it once before last weekend. He arrive, put his paddles on and decided to just go for a quick ride. He said he isnt a jumper anymore, just likes duning. It was dark. He went by himself. The wind was blowing alittle. As he climbed a hill near the back side of comp, he thinks the wind was blowing up the dune, so it looked like it went further. It did not. He went off the top of the hill in the top of second gear (ls1 car) he figures probably around 70 mph. He said he was air born for what seemed like forever. He landed on the nose straight down, and cart wheeled many times end of end down the hill. No one saw the wreck. He lost his shoe in the wreck. The radio to base camp wouldnt reach anyone, no one either had theirs on or his was broken. He was bleeding, from the head (lol to you no helmet guys) . He walked for around 20 minutes, then at some point went back to his car, on its side, and flashed its lights to people he could see, they didnt see him or come to him. He waited, and did it again for some on quads, and they saw him. Two paramidics inthe group. They got a rail to get him back to camp. He had a bruised foot, (lost shoe), a cut on his head (minor it turned out) and a black eye. He also stated a huge bruise from his lap belt. Thats all besides soreness. The car was hurt bad, maybe fixable, but probably not .

He said, in hind sight he

    1. shouldnt have gone alone.

    2. shouldnt have thought it would just be a short easy ride

    3. should have had some sort of communication.

    4. flash light

He also said, he knows he got incredibly lucky, esspecially considering the circumstances. Almost any injury would have killed him (with no help around), with his freinds and family only a mile away.

Every word you said is true, except the the age. He is 36. How do I know this? Went to high school with him. Had'nt seen him since school, then I roll into camp Friday morning, and greetings!!! I must say, the morning after made him look much older :thumb: We loaded the car onto my trailer, and my stuff in his to get everything back home. It was amazing how many people stopped by to look, and how many different opinions there were. The end result was a horrific crash that resulted in a totaled car and driver that walked away. I am sure he and his family could care less about the car. It was my advice to build another just like it, with a couple of changes. He hit the wink mirror wich was mounted to close, if your seat belts arent tightened enough. Hence the blood from the head. And loose the seats with adjustable headrest, they just layed over. The arms seamed a little to thin, but maybe it was them folding under and absorbing energy that saved his life. Tuff call there. We might have photos to post if we can extract them from a camera phone.

  10. the jones and trop store is rocket fuel or lightning fuel..sumthin like that

For those who only need small 5 gallon cans, the Vallero in Baker sells them (VP). The guy told me they were $36 ea.

  11. You name it. Open container, registration (incorrectly applied) wrong color flag, wrong flag height, operating at unsafe speed next to camp (is it not a camp when there is a crowd gathered). Example, a friend of mine had just pulled out a Newcastle (glass bottle) to pour it in a cup, Ranger saw the glass and made him pour it out. This was not some kid that would probably leave the bottle behind, but a responsible duner that brought his preference in a cushioned cooler, that he was taking back. If a Ranger asked to see inside your Ice chest, and finds a couple of empty beer cans, you tell me; what kind of ticket can he write. Maybe spark arrestor? It more of a matter of being hassled becuase they are trying keep the crowd under control.

  12. Guys/Gals,

I enjoy the drags at Glamis when I watch from a few rows back. They get pretty crazy, great fun looking at cars/bikes/people. However, my feeling is to keep the crazy's at Glamis. The Rangers have a field day writing tickets at the drags. I cant imagine what will happen when a car breaks an axle and violently veers into a crowd. I have seen bikes and quads running, and buggy's in wheel stands right on their a$$. I know what kind of pressure the tree huggers are putting on closing the dunes, so I dont consider it wise to give them anymore fuel for the fire. Alot of people I talk to that typically go to Glamis always say the same things....Dumont is to small, no drags, to many witches eyes, older crowd. Its for three of those reasons why I go there. My point is, we should be careful for what we ask for. Hangin at Comp Hill and watchin cars/bikes/quads run in a much safer enviroment is cool with me. Maybe there is a hill at Dumont that is long enough to drag, and that we could roll over and return down a safe path, and yet allow people to sit back and watch safely?????? Do a search for drag videos at Glamis, and see if this is what we want our teenagers getting so excited about to go watch. Sorry for sounding so old(37), I just cringe at the thought of more people, accidents, dune closure. My .02
