These new duners are coming over from the valley since Pismo is closed. I've camped near them over there and the reason I dont go anymore. The theme is the same. Mariachi music till 3 am and leave their trash. And dont racist bash me, it is what it is, I've personally witnessed it.

Talked to a ranger at vendor row today and he mentioned two deaths this weekend. One in the dunes and one on Hwy 127. I'm guessing this is the accident.

Here's what HTownPerf sent me just a bit ago...
It's only about 2 ft deep max. Water goes to maybe the top of a trailer tires rim! It's not 4 ft deep like some think. Maybe yesterday! It's more of a not getting hung up situation! HEIGHT! I'll take some pics tomorrow morning!
Pete - coming in tomorrow around 3 pm. A pic of someone driving through the deepest part would be much appreciated. I'm hauling my brand new Voltage toyhauler and dont want to thrash it on its maiden voyage.

Trailers are beginning to pull in. Still VERY uncrowded. The dunes were repaired a little bit last night with some good winds. Riding is very good.

Be safe out there Kev, hope we can make it out soon.
Will do!
Your group is skipping Dumont this year huh?

Some minor corrections to your awesome post. The claim to being the oldest tree actually belongs to the Bristlecone Pine found in the Eastern Sierras of California. And the worlds tallest tree belongs to the Coastal redwoods in, you guessed it, Northern California. The General Sherman tree is however famous for being the worlds largest living thing. Its girth, not its height, makes it so.
Other notable things to visit up here are Moro Rock and the Crystal cave.
Enjoy.

Here is a trip report on Coral Pink. It has a video of some riding, a couple of side trips to do, and a google map of the area.
Have fun, we did.

My company just donated the aluminum sheet for the new Friends of Oceano Dunes Sand Car they raffle off to raise funds for legal defense. Maybe someone else can help?

Thanks Pete, I'll be taking it to the dunetour at Pismo next weekend so should get some good eye candy, IF the weather cooperates.

I know I am!!!
I'll be the first to say it like usual...I'm SO ready for October! Yep, I have it bad and it's way early this year!
Yeah yeah...it has it's good times like hitten the lake, chillen at the pool, and uhh... that's about it. woopity fuggin dooo! :hatdance:
I'm sorry, but I have yet to find anything else in this world that even compares to clicking 5th gear and lookin for a 6th on the bike through the dunes. Or pickin killer buggy lines & hauling a$$ with the rest of the crew through the dunes so gad damn fast I start laughing. That chit gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. ...Or just chillen with friends around a camp fire with the sounds of rails, bikes, and generators going in the background while tossin back a .
Luckily I'll get a small taste of it come August 8th and probably a Coral Trip before Oct, but nothing really compares to what Dumont has to offer.
IS IT OCTOBER YET?
Oh god yes!

Could it be some homemade adjustable device to secure the load?

I loved Sublime's music. Long Beach Boys. I'd go see em.
OHV gets phased out at Pismo. Will this affect Dumont?

Absolutely Pismo Riders will come to Dumont. Many do so now. Dumont was the second place I ever duned after Pismo and I was blown away. Our group did 7 straight New Years trips here due to the wet coastal weather. I no longer go to Pismo anymore because of a few bad experiences I had there last time. I still go to Dumont and Glamis, just my choice to stay away on big Holiday weekends because of the crowds. And yes, I remember Richard Cheese lol.
