take everything they just said and throw it away sand turkeys rock its just like a weber !!! you dig a pit line it in coals you wrap the turkey in foil with butter and seasonings.you lite coals place turkey on bed od coals now cover the top still below sand level as soon as those light you bury it mark it and 8 hours later voila !!! deeeeeelish !!!!

Thank you!!! We've had a friend cook a turkey out there that way before, and it was really good. I just couldn't remember what exactly he did!!!

I was curious if anyone has ever deep pitted their turkey in the sand? If so, do you have any suggestions??? Thank you!!!

mostly quads & some 2 wheelers on the bike ride. You are welcome to join in. Just meet up at our camp at the time we decide on. We camp around bathroom 6. Just look for either the DDR banner or a big gay balloon about 20-30 feet tall. As for the sandrail ride...it consists of ...well, sandrails. :bash:

Hi CarrieAnn, We are also from Bakersfield and also headed to Dumont for Thanksgiving. We will be leaving Wednesday-Sunday unless we can get the kids out of school Tuesday then we will leave then. Hoping the weather stays nice with no rain.

We aren't about much more than a website for ALL of Dumont peeps. Sometimes we get as many peeps together from the board to meet up for dune rides, trips, sometimes potluck BBQ's, and SOMETIMES some of this .

We will be coming Wednesday, sometime. I'm hoping to leave by noon, but all depends on the hubby. This will be our fourth year there, however, new to DDR. Not really sure of the happenings with DDR, so I'll spend the next two weeks on the board trying to find out everything I can that goes on with you guys. Can't wait.
