  1. this is why I love dumont...much cooler folks...never a hassle...we pack when we go to Glamis...

    its just like L.A.

That is funny. I have never had an issue at G. I have not been to Dumont yet, however when my buddies went they had someone come into their camp and start snooping in the middle of the night, scaring the heck ou of the wives and children. Now they went out and got protection for those trips to Dumont. It is just a matter of wrong place/wrong time/wrong attitude, IMO.

  2. Sams Club has had a package deal for a little over $400. Included 3 games, 3 each of the remotes, and some other stuff. Sounds high but if bought seperaty it would save you a~$50. They has quite a bit of stock when other places were out.

I bought a package deal at Fry's but just happened to stumble on the last unit from an unexpected shipment.

  3. Yep, these fees along with my schedule have driven me away from the sport. Saddest day on my life realizing a I can no longer justify going for one day and paying all the expenses included and do not have the time to make a multi day trip. Back to hiking with the S. Club(NOT)

I sure miss all the free days as a kid just going out to the garage starting the bikes and heading for the hills in Colorado on established trails.

  4. Looks good, on the PC lifts I have seen it is usually on the front valance I have seen rubbing usually not on the backside with the rims your running and the 37s.

Have you noticed any wallowing sound when going over bumps at more of a high speed? more noticable when pulling a trailer?

No wallowing sounds that I hear. If you have that it is usually the drive shaft out of operating range. I have a custom front drive shaft to help correct the steeper front end and a droped drive shaft carrier bearing in the rear.

  5. what year is your truck? What wheels and tires are you running? the back side of your fender and not your valance? What lift are you running?

2006 MegaCab, 6" Pro Comp Lift, 37" BFG AT's. I think the minor rubbing I experienced was while towing the toyhauler through the sands. Do not get any rubbing around town although it looks pretty close at full turn and compression.

  6. Damn, you fellas got me thinking Dove springs instead of Dumont on the 26th. Can only go for a night so it is more attractive than paying $30 for a week and all the gas. Might wait and plan a longer Dumont trip and then buy an annual pass. Thanks for the new option as I have not been to either.

  7. Tie fishing line between two nails where the land, they can not see it and when they go to land it hits them and scares the crap out of them. They usualy get the hint pretty quick.

  8. i have the 04 ho on a 6" lift toyo 37s fox 2.5 shocks air bags in rear ,get factory 4:10 ratio gears only do not get 3:70s your truck will be tall bad a$$ and kick the crap outa stock fords right bound 4 dirt ha ha ha ha ha ha .

i added the mag tec rearend cover for increased oil in the rear, electric steps ,dvd ,left the motor stock and it awsome .in 2 years i have had a doorlock break and a radio eat my cd .both under warrenty. o i also upgraded to alpine speakers and it sounds better than a chevy bose system. i was told that from a chevy owner.

Wish the fella I bought mine from regeared, but rear end breaks loose as is. I will refear soon. Do you have the 4 speaker stock stereo or the upgraded stereo or nav unit? Ordering Polk Audio door speakers for mine as I type.

  9. Love my Hemi, but if you are towing quite frequently the Cummins does get better mileage. On our last trip my buddy with a 3500 CTD MC w/ 35" tires was getting 12-14 MPG and I was pulling 9-10mpg with my 1500 Hemi MC and 37" tires. Best I have seen was 16MPG and oddly enough this was on the highway towing a loaded car and car hauler trailer(~6500#).

Both nice trucks and I got a GREAT price on mine or would have waited and got the Cummins as planned. I have had no problems at all with my Hemi.

  10. We have never camped over there, but lots of families do and the few that I know do love it. However! We take our kids over there at least once a trip for riding and we have occasionally run into....ummm, lets say RUDE riders on busy weekends. Some guys love jumping their quads over there and a few rails will fly thru too. We'll be parked on a hill spotting for the kids and some people still insist on cutting in too close for comfort. I guess some folks just don't know the signal to slow down, or choose to ignore it. When the traffic gets to be too much, we just leave. Just my

Appreciate the info. My girls are teens so they are not too young, but new to the sport. We have encountered that problem tooooooo many times at Glamis and was hoping to find a better situation.

Problem with G is we ride to the middle of nowhere, find a nice spot with no one for miles, for them to work their skills up, and all is good until we see buggies a few dunes over. Seems they stop, see us, then must decide to come and check on us or show off, and run right through where we are and start doing loops around the spot we are playing at. Last three trips have had the same thing happen. Pisses me off, but I give them the benefit of the doubt and asure my self they are just making sure it is safe for us. Oh well, we just park and wait until they leave and then go look for another spot.

  11. They haul in a big dumpster for all the trash collected from the cleanup event. :thumb: You will be given a raffle ticket for every bag of trash collected. The raffle ticket can then be used to enter to win a prize.

Right on. :laughoff: Raffle tickets a plus, but we just like to leave areas cleaner than we arrived and needed to know if truck had to be packed light to haul trash out in the end. Sad thing is it is not too hard to do in most cases. :(
