  1. I think that is alot of crap - big daddy governement strikes again! I am going to check into it more - maybe it was a decision by the local office NOT to honor it - By God if the main national office advertises it as usable, then it needs to be freakin usable! atleast provide a substantial discount!
  2. Hey does anyone know about the 'America the beautiful Pass" from the national parks. It is a pass for $80 that gets you yearly access to ALL federal lands, parks, forests, etc. It takes the place of the forestry parking pass, covers entry to all national parks (i.e. yosimite). Anyway, it coveres BLM lands and access fees. My question is- does anyone know how it will work for Dunont? the paper work that came with the pass when i bought it says it covers the fees, but i want to be sure. If it does, then its the better buy- as it would cover Dumont and Glamis and everywhere else. This is directly from the national parks website:http://www.nps.gov/fees_passes.htm America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass – Annual Pass - Cost $80. America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass – Annual Pass This pass is available to the general public and provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee for a year, beginning from the date of sale. The pass admits the pass holder/s and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per vehicle fee areas and pass holder + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, at per person fee areas. (children under 16 are admitted free) The pass can be obtained in person at the park, by calling 1-888-ASK USGS, Ext. 1, or via the Internet at http://store.usgs.gov/pass.
