  1. I woke up saturday morning to my wife telling me that there is a fire by our rental house in corona. So I call the tenent and he tells me he is packed up to go if needed. He then tells me that the fire is headed toward my house in Yorba Linda. I tell him that the fire has about couple hundred houses to go to get to me so I wasnt to worried. I also thought to myself that I have seen a couple fires in Yorba Linda over the years and the fire department always does a great job of putting them out before they get out of hand.So I then turn on the news and I see houses burning. Then a short time later its getting closer so I tell the wife to pack up just in case.As time goes on it just gets closer and closer in a short time so at this point I am starting to get a little concerned so I send the wife and kids to her brothers. Well about an hour later my dad calls who lives about a mile away and says that he can see houses burning behind him then a big knock on the door and police say get out now.So I get off the phone jump up on my roof and I can see the tip of the flames coming from the houses that are burning behind my dads house .Now I am really craping my pants as the fire is less than 2 miles away then I look over to the north and the whole hillside that is about a mile away is on fire. At that point after I have craped my pants a couple of times I see the police coming down the street telling everone to get out now. I then leave go to her brothers and then to a hotel not knowing if the house is still there. The next morning the area is still blocked off but I was able to still get in and was realieved to find the house was still standing. I have never seen anything like this fire ever it was super fast and powerful and it was amazing how some of the streets where homes were burned the fire leap froged every other house and on other streets it would burn two leave one standing then burn three more then leave a couple standing. One of the most frightening times in my life.My heart goes out to the ones that lost everything.

  2. I think the show made it clear that The LEOs and the Medics are way under staffed and MORE funding is needed for Dumont to be a much safer place. It was a major weekend KICK OFF as the ranger stated and there was only One medical crew out there. Thats ridiculous. No GPS units for the LEOs is also a joke. I would have been embarassed by the show for there lack of planning and ability to effectively perform a rescue. I would guess that at least 8 out of the 10 people that are reading this have some sort of gps device. Garmin handheld etc. They arent expensive at all.

You guys have no idea how understaffed they are out there and the lack of equipment they do not have. What the show does not tell is that the film production buggies actually had to bring the medical aid because the orange medical buggy could not get up the hills to the accident scene. This was also not the first time the production company buggies had to help in a rescue either. The sheriffs and the medical buggies are outdated and need to be replaced. Dumont Dunes needs some sort of fundraiser to get these agencies new buggies if we wait for each agency to get funding we could be waiting a long long time. The duners in Glamis have already done there own fundraiser to get needed equipment with the Chris "Chili Dog"Frick EMS facility and has already proven very useful.

  3. hmmmm. i personally cant think of a BETTER use of l.e.o. time than taking out a MINOR under the influence of alcohol at the dunes!! a huge percentage of accidents out there involve alcohol! sheesh! if you rode the dunes for a LIVING you would be a serious candidate for another tv show..."worlds most dangerous jobs". i'm sure i will get some sh*t for badmouthing alcohol in the dunes, probly from the type of guy that would give his 16 year old a bottle of whiskey with his new drivers liscence... and as for the guys in the funco(rented from funco for filming) that i talked to i distinctly remember "court tv" as part of the conversation. they also mentioned the same type of filming at the river with the cops....said it would be similar to the "cops" show on tv. bet the part where they were filming the female officer that tipped her quad over and pinned her under it near the north pole won't make the show. just more ammunition to make us look bad if yuh ask me(and yuh didn't).....just wish there was a way to make the drunks run into eachother instead of us sober people.

Again the funcos used were PRIVATLY owned and NOT rented from funco. And your right the part where the female officer tipped her quad over will NOT be shown as they were not filming at the time. Also did I mention that the funcos were privatly owned. And by the way the funcos were privatly owned .

  4. I witnessed the whole thing with the under age girl drinking she has a beer in plain site when the officer pulled up she did not even see him. the officer is talking to her not yelling or cussing as someone pointed out . And while the officer is talking to her two other guys in the group who were about two feet from the officer were arguing about something else between them that had nothing to do with the girl. The girl also was not 17 it turned out that she was only 15

  5. That's right....it's a Sheriff Funco. Still great use of our funds....whether it's taxes or entrance fees they are still public servants being paid by the public.

Right when they passed by some idiots were riding double on a banshee with no helmets right behind them. We are our own enemy at times.

The sheriffs do not have a funco in dumont although they need one very bad . The only agency funco out that was the rangers .The sheriff only have a old vw beam car that cant make it up a couple of the big hills

  6. yep, saturday night at comp around 9:30 they were filming a dui stop on a silver pickup with two dudes and a chic? don't what came of it thou.

They pulled him over because he was driving very reckless between the rows at comp, turned out he was under age and drunk

I would think so. They were interviewing the BLM guys! :headbang1:

They were only aloud to film the sheriff

Yesterday (Sunday) I had just pulled into our camp that only had two ways in

and a guy on a quad was getting chased by two cops on quads.

They went right through our camp. right by me in my car.

The cops had sirens and all.

There was a blue sandcar following the cops with a video camera.

They were responding to the bronco that rolled and a women got ejected

Wouldnt they have to get signed releases from people that is in footage they air???

Glad they werent out there filming new years weekend when I got stopped on the way to comp!

They do not need a release because it is a public place . They do need a release for minors though

Don't know....I pullled in about that time. They ended up rolling past us in the back and around the front again. Of course we kept it cool.......I'm not looking to be famous. The camera guy was in the BLM Funco at the time. Nice use of our fees.

No cameramen were aloud with the blm only with the sheriffs
