i guess its more of common knowledge, growin up around glamis and buttercup, thats how i had seen it done, and when i came out to dumont thats how i have seen most people do it as well. iam not saying that it is law, but just have some sence of direction, and some common courtsey.

look I jump the hell out of my bike, and i even wheelie up comp, and i crash too.....I have never taken anyone out, and any damage that i do to myself is more or less a self inflicted wound, iam not going to walk around in bubblewrap my whole life. and when you sit around the camp fire and talk about "Good times" some ...no wait....all of us have done some stupid stuff. good, bad, right or wrong. iam just learning a bit later than others.

my crash on craigs quad was stupid, i still cant walk right. and it cost me alot of money that i didnt really have. it almost cost a great friendship as well....so with that iam learning more and more. Its time for a rhino / sand sprite and relax and just play around. i dont want to be any more responsable for someone getting hurt because of something stupid, accidents will happen...and they usually happen to me..so with that Iam done with my rant.

This is very sad to hear.

I've been duning for about 22 years or so, and I'd have to say things have changed.

The cars and ATVs now are way faster and the hills are more crowded, etc.

These changes definately have made it more unsafe out there.

I had a close call on friday night that made me think again about shooting the hill on busy weekends.

I appologize to the people I put in danger. This kind of thing could happen too easily.

All I basically did was follow others for the rest of the weekend.

I will be more careful in the future even if it means less holidays and less trips.

I pray for Charlie and his family. :praying:

i would like to thank everyone for any and all info that was passed on to me and passed on to charlies family. the names have been passed on to the san berdo sherff and the law will handle it from here. the real story will be out after charlie gets out of the hospital or if the video that is out there ever pops up . charlies family and i would like to say thank you for all / or at least most all of the support of the dune community.

I don't think his busted up car can even come close to the medical bills that will be coming. Much less time from work or away from family. I can only imagine how terrible today must be for his family.

Not to mention he must have let the guy drive it which means he has to take some responsibility in the damages.

I wasn't there so excuse me if this sounds stupid, but how did he not see the rail coming. Unless the rail came from behind or from the rear quarter I guess you would say. Just curious as to how the rail got close without being able to avoid a collision. Earlier in this thread someone mentioned he was there in his own rail but wanted to take a run up on the bashee....was he an experienced quad rider??? Just a couple of questions

I am sure that Randy is cooperating with the LEOs. I think you guys are jumping the gun.

On top of the terrible tragedy, Randy has a busted car that he is going to have to explain to the insurance co. or, if no insurance, is going to want this pissant to pay for.

I am thinking that this is closer to a resolve than everyone here thinks.

Doing wheelies on a busy weekend or even when others are on the hill is just plain stupid and like someone else said, all the big cars can do them now. It's not impressive. Do them out in the dunes, not in the crowds. How many of you have stopped a guy doing something stupid in a crowd and calmly explained to them that what thye are doing is not appropriate? Maybe we all have some blame on us too.....

Cole, I wasn't trying to get her involved or point the finger at anyone. I was just curious if that was her friend's car is all.

Sorry Kayla- I didn't mean to get you involved in any way. I just recognized the car and thought it looked familiar.

thanks we got the name of the driver and if and if anybody has any other in formation for us and were not trying to get anybody else involved we just want to find out who the driver was

Dose anyone know if the rangers impounded the rail or know the name of the owner to put a little pressure on him to give up the driver. the driver is a chicken s*#@ and needs to come forward and pay for this !!! ( hit and run ) you dont run for no reason was he drinking and driving. the guy on the banshee has a 3 year old that wants to see his dad . if any one has any info pics of the driver, names , anything that could help please reply @ davidhall01@msn.com or 7024013643 and ill pass any info on to the family

WTF you mean no one knows this fool? Someone loaned the rail out...find the rail owner and start with him and a lawyer and i bet he starts talkin f'n idiot. How can someone take a rail for a spin and no one knows him? come on now... sue the owner and go from there.. SOMEONE NEEDS TO PAY FOR THIS!!!

His wife has enough to deal with right now and is going through an extremely tough time, so if anyone can help with any information it will be greatly appreciated and we will pass on to the family -- personally.

Hey I am Charlie's neighbor (the guy that was injured on the quad this weekend) if you know who the guy that was driving is please reply so that we can forward to his wife and 3 year old son (who witnessed the accident at comp hill) Last heard, the guy was not arrested and no one knows who he is, please let us know so we can let his family know, they have enough to worry about right now.
