  1. Do you think that that applys to San Bernandino Co. That's Dumont, and what about the central valley with all the orchards.??????? :rockwoot:

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District has pretty much banned all Ag burning these days. That's why there are so many of those for sale now. Most fruit orchards here use wind machines and sprinklers to regulate air temps.

  2. lifting the ban on drilling is a pipe dream, and it would take several years to see any benefit. the thing it would do immediately would be to scare the hell out of opec, and the price would plummet over night. the full effects of the increased fuel price really won't be realized until next year at this time. short run it hurts your wallet when you fill up. long term is the how bad it will hurt your wallet when you need to by any good or service that relies on fossil fuels to be produced. which pretty much means anything.

  3. processed tomatoes are fine. just a few types of the fresh varieties have been found with salmonella in them. within a few weeks they will find the source of contamination, then other tomato producing areas will start shipping. i.e. central california, florida, texas.

  4. I can't believe D-cheese hasn't chimed in on this yet...

Who knows the difference between venomous and poisonous?

    Venomous vs. Poisonous

People often ask what the difference between venomous and poisonous. They ask why I tell them not to call a snake poisonous. Well technically all venoms are a poison however not all poisons are venoms. Too many times people get confused because someone on television says that a snake is poisonous while another says venomous. So to make things simple I will explain it. Any type of animal that injects a toxin into your body is venomous. If you touch or ingest a toxin from a plant or animal and become sick then it is poisonous. Snakes that inject toxins from fangs and the two species of Helodermatid lizards are venomous while plants, amphibians, and fungi (mushrooms) are all poisonous.
