My trip was quick and short. Rolled in Friday at noon. Set up camp with Vegas style and Lou B,s crew. Thanks for having me. Went on a good run Friday before dark with Lou and crew. Best run of the weekend.
Friday night went over to celebrate with Mike and Crew for his birthday. as Rob said it turned out to be quite a night. Lots of fun and killer trip to North pole at Midnight.
Saturday went on two more runs but the dunes beat the sh*t out of me. I checked out the Slow drags and took very few pics. Later on Saturday night my group was packed up or out and called it a night by 8PM. sh*t I was ready for some more. Went to comp and it was basically two rows and faded quick. A group pulled up next to me and I partied with them for a couple of hours. I seen Rob at the hill after he was tearing it up and hung out for a few.
Sunday Morning went out for a run solo and packed up and headed out.
I was able to head out Solo and I definitely needed some Dune Relaxation.
The road was excellent and cruised at 50MPG all the WAY in and out! Joke.
After this weekend I need a new Dune mobile. The QWAD is not cutting it anymore with tore up dunes.
Next trip the week after Christmas and before new years.
A FEW PICS TO FOLLOW.

I have never heard of an OPEN CARRY permit.
I have not either. Must not be from Cali. Please elaborate.

Maybe Billsinca is talking about the age on the quad. If you bring a 50cc that says "no one under 6", can a 5 year old still take the course and be certified?
-
This is a great opportunity. Did this last year at dumont. Usually you have to buy a new quad to get a free pass from your dealer. Dumont SBCSD are great guys and make the kids feel confident with their riding abilitys. Recomend this to anyone with kids. My daughter had to show her certificate to ride at Azusa canyon a few weeks ago

I talked to the Ranger when I got there Saturday just before noon and they said that there was only one little girl that showed up. They said they are going to do flyers in the future since they get grant money to do these clinics!!!!
Hopefully there will be far more the next time they do it!
That was my girl. I'm very proud of her and she had a great time. We rode back to camp and I let out the throttle screw for her Anyways, big thumbs up for the Instructer and all the SBC Sheriffs out at Dumont. I talked to most of them and they were all very informitive and great people to BS with. They said they will offer the course on President's day again. I'd highly recommend any children to attend

the rule is 15 mph within 50' of a camp. 50' is not that much of a distance. In beetween the finger dunes is probably 300' so theoretically someone can just blast down the middle and probably get away with it. Not much LEO's can do in my opinion. By the way, I just putt through the flats, but this is my observations.

This is perfect. I'll bring my daughter. Do we have to pre-register or just show up?

The reason im asking is cause im running 3.73's and 35" tires and wanted to know what is a good in between ratio to go to. 05 f350 6.0
I'm in the same boat, only with the 7.3l. When I get some extra dough I'll go with 4.30. My reason, tire calculater say's 4.23 (I really don't remember the exact number) so my theory is this; It is equal cost to change to a 4.11 or 4.30. In my opinion a 4.11 will not make much difference so I would go with the 4.30. 4.88 is bad advice because you will get terrible millaege and lose top speed. They are great for towing but if this is a daily driver its a bad idea. FYI I had a f-550 with 4.88's and the best I ever got (empty or loaded) was 315 mi on a 38 gallon tank

Awsome trip, Except someone tried to break into my trailer last night.
Just kidding, Randog, Crazy Beeb, and I think Pete? came over and tried to wake me up by opening the back door of my trailer. I would have love to seen the looks on their faces especially Randogs when my wife came out to yell at them.
Shoulda came by camp at 6am sunday. The beebs rig was ready to steal.

I agree with the overpricing but why not bring your own parts like plugs and oil. its not like they go bad or you'll never use them. I have been caught offgaurd before and been to the doghouse trailer. Your right they are reasonable.
-
Check your fuses for your truck. I tow with a ford and it has a trailer tow park lamp fuse. Truck lights will work but no trailer lights. Im sure other trucks are similar.

This happens everywhere. Sad thing I see is alot of these people come out on holidays to party and not even ride so they dont care if they run over glass or pallet nails. just bad offroading ettiqet in my opinion.

How are the roads? bunch of turns or fairly straight?
Thanks for the fast replies.
Hey Nick, as you can see I got my computer all virus free and running again. Thanks for the help.
Bunch of windy turns on 18. My daughter got sick last time.

That's California for you! When you get a quad, there's a warning label (that we remove) that states how old you can be to ride it!
Warning. Thats it. No law on age vs. cc's in my DMV code book. I practice safety with my daughter on her 50cc (four years old). I have the the safety cert. and riding expierience. I also have a remote kill switch. I firmly believe getting this cert will NOT make you a professional rider but is the law if you have children. Dont worry cheese, as long as you are certified and string can use all the controls safeley (Brakes, gas, ect.) thats all that matters. Dont quote me cause that code book is friggin long.
