  1. i was out there on my blacked out TRX450R... had a freakin blast... we parked at the far side at the very end of banshee. everyone near us kept it clean... at least i know we took every scrap we brought out with us. at first we were parked by toilet #7. when we were there the inside of it looked like someone walked in the door, turned around, bent over , :beercheers: and then tried to "cr#p for distance".UGGG!!!! ... i didn't see any "art"....so we moved over to where the action was...

we did get stuck trying to leave the hill... some guy in a white crew cab F150 stopped to help us, went to get a strap, he came back and he got stuck. we got the trucks out after a little use of some loading ramps to get traction. i didn't get a chance to say thank you to the guy in the white F150.... i hope he may be on here. dude, i owe you a beer!!! thanks for the help. also thanks to the guys in a rhino that stopped to help as well.

this was the second time i have gone to the nite drags... i have a great time every trip... i can't wait till the next one.

  2. next time i go out to dumont i will need to know what smokin al's rig looks like. i thought it might have been the guys grillin over by #6 bathroom :stir: but wasnt sure. i was lookin forward to a nice sammich. but i missed out big time!!!!! :headbang1:

someone post a pic of his rig so i dont miss out next time!

  3. no one "put on the event" it was an informal get together/event. but the rules/law enforcement was being done by the rangers as it is their job to do so and tickets were given out. if that doesn't persuade them (people who were ticketed) to get lights, put on helmets, have a flag...... then it is on them i guess....i am not their momma... they are adults. i just hate to see people get hurt due to someones lack of concern for safety whether it be directly or indirectly.

  4. It has to be said and you can take it for whats its worth but why are the people of Latin decent the most disgusting of all.....Not all of them but for the most part they are downright disgusting!! Dont get me wrong there was probably some white trash crackers out there too who left trash.

The trash is not acceptable..you people are pieces of sh*t. :headbang1::headbang1:

When I was leaving on the dirt road a truck past me with the tailgate down so all the trash could blow out. Some came out on the dirt road but I sure his bed was empty soon as he got to baker.....and guess what they looked like "people of latin decent" in the truck.

If you cant be a clean person black, brown, white, red or any other color or race STAY THE HELL HOME YOU DIRTY a-holes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. It has been no secret that the BLM reads this site on a regular basis. People should understand it is a public, community site. It's not like this trip was hush hush. :headbang1: I actually feel better that the BLM comes out just in case an accident or something happens.

I think the hillshooter guys might want to keep that in mind for next time. I'm not saying they were unsafe in any way. The fast guys all seemed to have very good control of the hill and seemed to be doing a great job of playing it safe. I heard of stories how the BLM talked down to them and didn't talk to them with respect that adults deserve and also how they weren't too fair across the board with everyone. That makes me mad too as it has happened to me in the past. BUT, rules are rules and we gotta follow them. Like you said, anti-bling, maybe just wire up some cheap little lights (or even some LED flashlights) next time so everyone is legal. The rules aren't too hard to abide by. If we aren't doing anything wrong, we don't get hassled. :laughoff::headbang1:

dunefreak..... i LOVE your green rail... i got a chance to see it for the first time yesterday...next time out I'll introduce myself.

if your legal you wont get the man down your neck! i $20 light will save you from a $50 ticket. i learned that last new years out at dumont!

  6. i got a chance to talk to one of the rangers yesterday before it got dark. he said that he read about the night drags from this site and decided to head out to dumont knowing we would be there. the other ranger in the jeep was itchin to drive the "newly lifted jeep" out in the dunes as well so he tagged along. he was busting people for driving right past him at the front gate and not getting a permit. he did talk to us about the ticketing and said " if they were just out with one violation ill let it slide with a warning, but if you have a couple of violations it's getting written up". how hard is it to wire a couple of small lights so people can see you. i saw a couple of really close calls where a bike with no lights was cutting across the hill and almost was taken out by a bike going up the hill. hell i even taped a flash light to my handlebars so i wouldn't get a ticket and so other could somewhat see i was coming'

  7. Not to :headbang1: but...........................ARE YOU EFFIN KIDDING ME?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went on a ride this morning with the KLLM's. Coming back they were at the bottom of banshee hill picking up trash. So we went over and helped. All I have to say is that the people that feel they can leave their sh*t every where and not pick up after themselves is just disgusting!!!! It makes me wonder how gross your homes and cars must be. I don't know if it's lack of respect, a crappy attitude or just plain ignorance!!!!!

Things like this just give the greenies more ammo to get our riding places closed. People that do stupid things like this are probably the first A-holes that will be crabbing when fees go up, more restrictions come or just closing Dumont for good. I have to ask, is it that hard to throw your garbage in the bed of a truck before you leave the hill????

On a lighter note.................Had a great time and it was great to see everyone. Special thanks to Smokin Als for coming out!!!!!

i totally agree with this!!!! lack of respect totally.... i wish i was able to help with the clean up!!! i couldn't carry the huge amount to crap that people left behind!!! thanks for taking your time to help clean up. :laughoff:

i wish others too the time to pick up their own crap!!!!! :headbang1:

the weather could have not been any better!!! the wind was great. the semi full moon was awesome! next time i go i will remember to bring ear plugs. those hillshooters were LOUD as hell!

well i my take on the night drags was hit and miss!!! on the plus side there were a bunch of WAY FAST bikes out last night. I WAS NOT ONE OF THEM! my bike was running like a$$... my new electrical system worked when i loaded it in the trailer but failed when i tried to use my lights when the sun went down...i hit the switch and nothing!!!no headlights at all. my brand new 4 inch HIDs took a big crap. i was so desperate to ride that i taped a flashlight to the handle bars just so i would not get a ticket for no headlight. but i made it out to banshee hill, mostly watch the big guns run. but i did manage to make a couple of passes myself. i have a bunch of tuning left to do before i can do any kind damage. we hung around till just after 2:30am then crashed in the toy hauler. woke up around 8 and went for a morning ride.

this is where i get really pissed off!!!! my buddy and i rode over to banshee hill in the morning and the place was TRASHED!!!! there was beer cans and trash all over the place!!!!! i was utterly disgusted! this is the crap that will give all the tree huggers ammo that will get the place shut down. the night before, i even saw a couple of people running there hill shooter bikes without helmets up the hill, then ride down to the bottom drink a beer, toss the empty on the ground, then keep racing. i was amazed that no one crashed ....

  8. :dunno: looking at the pics posted... the front upper shock mounts will fold in after the first couple of hard hits. and what is up with the front dirt bike tires? I'm not feeling it all that much. but i do like the idea of the 4 wheel drive. that is kinda cool.
  9. DDM tuning has them for a good price too. did they have your stock bulbs???

ddm tuning had the stock bulbs for my 2500hd, and i just switched them out. i can see 50 yds ahead of me now!! :offtopic:

they had the H3 bulbs for the Hella's. looking for replacment headlight housings for the sealed bulbs in my stock headlights. if i can find somethings that will retrofit some projetor style lamps i'll be installing HID's into the stock headlight locations. hmmm.... maybe i'll just add some projector driving lights where the headlights go.. i hate the way HID's glare all over the place when installed into stock headlight housings.

  10. I bought a set for my Solteks, they looked like a quality peice, but I am having problems with one igniter firing, I have to click my lights on and off a few times to get it to turn on... kinda dissappointed in that.

try adding a relay to them and get direct battery power to them. they should work better and with out the "misfire"

  11. my stock 1979 chevy headlights SUCK! i needed some more light so...

i had a set of hella 550 off road/driving lights that were sitting on my shelf in the garage. so i started to wire up the truck to add them. my buddy sent me a link about his friend that was selling HID kits for $100 shipped.

Direct Connection Tuning - HID Kits

i ordered a set to try them out. i figured that the cost was cheep enough to at least try out. i started by mounting the lights on my front bumper and pulling the grill to access a mounting location for the HID ballasts. i mounted a relay near the battery and ran my wires. the H3 HID bulbs slid light into the lens just fine. but i had to drill a hole in the back of the housing for the larger plugs to pass though. i mounted the ballasts on the core support with the plugs pointed down so water would not get into them. i thought that they would get good cooling there as well and they were close to the lights. i tested the system and then reinstalled the grill.

i think i'm into these light about $175. $75 bucks for the lights from the local autoparts store (checker) and $100 for the HID kit.

the light output is GREAT!!! i ordered the 6000k lights. they put out only pure white light. no blue/purple light here. the light pattern is just about perfect and 3x brighter. I'm thinking about adding another set and if i can find a set of projector bulbs for the factory headlight i will swap those as well. now when I'm out in the desert I'll have enough light to see where I'm going.

now all i need is better suspension and more POWER! :offtopic:

  12. sorry but i have a bunch of newbe questions....

whats the weather like that weekend (halloween weekend)?

all the videos i've seen everyone is in t-shirts during the day but i dont know how cold/warm it might be at night.

do i need to be out there early to get a spot to camp (RV parking) or should i be ok if i roll out on friday?

i plan on rolling out early from las vegas friday morning.

my quadzilla has a aftermarket pipe but i dont think it has a spark arrester. are the rangers going to be anal about this?

my girl plans on renting a quad for the weekend (from las vegas) .... do i still need to get a out of state sticker for it to be legal at dumont?

the weekend pass, is that good for all the vechiles or just the RV? will that pass cover a trailer and the bikes?

the rule about no glass containers..... would it be ok to bring some....adult drinks..... in glass as long as they stay inside the RV?

any info would be great. thanks see you out there.
