I took a day trip today, wish I could have stayed, but I am working all weekend... figured I would give everyone who isnt out there now a little report.
Sand/dunes: started out silky smooth early this morning but are all tracked up now, still fun. SOFT. lots of wind has caused some soft sand. counted close to a dozen sand cars buried up to the motor throughout the day.
Weather: good and windy from the time I pulled in (5am) unitl about noon or so. after noon the wind died down to a pleasant breeze. temps were perfect. beautiful day after the wind.
Entrance road: good. not as nice as it was during mlk weekend, but nothing to complain about.
Crowd: not too bad for arguably the busiest weekend of the year at dumont. although trailers were pouring in as I was leaving at about 430. not as bad as last year, yet...
heres a few pics, enjoy!
the good stuff
a few of my bike and the sunrise
the crowd at about 1pm, not bad...

Hey guys, I figured I would ask on this board as well, hoping that someone will have some input.
It is time for some new tires on my F250, and I wanted to know if anyone has any do's and dont's about specific tires. The truck is 2wd and is mostly driven to and from dumont and the river, so I am really looking for a quiet, long-lasting tires, that I can tow the trailers with. The only off-road terrain the truck sees is our lovely entrance road to dumont, and the occasional riding trip to stoddard valley and what not. I am looking at the Goodyear Wranglers with Silent Armor, but like I said before just wanted some feedback from personal experience and other suggestions. :freakin_nuts:

Yep, thats about the time I was heading in. What truck were you in?
White F250, I was pulling a white 'box' trailer.

if they do not do it right the first time, and just throw it down there, it will be worse than a washboard dirt road.
I am afraid that is exactly what they did... as of friday night, the road is worse off than it was before.

other then the 4wheel action i had to take on the road in im glad they are taking care of buisness..
Was the road real bad, while 'under construction?' Just thinking about my 2wd truck next weekend.

I have never been to lvms, but I just got a decent deal on some last minute tickets to the race on sunday. I know from experience at ca speedway that traffic can be crazy, but I also know that there are a few ways around it. I have heard that lvms is no better, so does anyone have any suggestions to beat the traffic? Any parking suggestions? Thanks! :freakin_nuts:

under that new CA law, that is a ticketable offense, with no adult supervision.....and if they were supervising him, and ALLOWING HIM to ram...............
I do not understand some of these parents. I was out the week before x-mas, and was making my way back to camp and found a child (could not have been older than 5yo) stuck in the sand just north of banshee hill. I stopped, and found that he was sitting there crying and must have been there for a while. I asked him where his parents were and he said that they were at the trailer, and then I asked him where his trailer was and he pointed north, so I pulled his little 50 out, and he was on his way. Unbelievable! I could not imagine leaving my child unsupervised like that!
