Hey duners, get this year's poker run marked on your calendars! It's the 3rd Annual Dumont Poker Run presented by Friends of Dumont Dunes and DDR! It's on Saturday Nov 13th, That is 2 weeks after Halloween and 2 weeks before Thanksgiving weekend.

I know last year everyone had a blast and we plan to do everything the same this year. There will be 5 checkpoints as usual as well as the MYSTERY checkpoint for an additional prize.

The start & finish times are slightly different than last year so check the flyer. It went a little longer than needed for everyone to make their way to all checkpoints so we cut it back a little bit so everyone can get on with their weekends and get to shredding some sand.

One thing that hasn't changed is the high payout to winners. A total of 50% of the net will go towards the winners for prize money. Then 25% to support DDR and 25% to support FoDD. All the proceeds go to either running this site or helping to keep your dunes open so it's a win win situation no matter what hand you end up having.

Karen... Caleb is doing as best as can be, he ended up with 4 pins in each ankle, can't walk for atleast 6-8 weeks and still can't wait to go riding! Thanks for taking the time to stop and help him. All in all our Dumont trip was approx 1 hour, but it could of been worse right?!

Caleb is doing fine. he ended up with both ankles broken, and the tib and fib on both legs also.

Wow....he ended up getting transported to St. Mary's Medical Center. He had surgery on Sunday, screws only no plates needed. He is at home now, Says he wished he was still at the dunes, (I think he must of hit his head too )

He wants me to pass on a deep felt "thank you" and "God Bless" the Dune Riders for being there in his time of need. You guys are the bomb!

Looks like he'll be down for about six months, but we're pretty sure he'll be itching for the dunes before then.

Two shattered ankles 4 screws in each. He said there was some girl asking if she could take pictures lol. He is doing good now, just take time to rehab them. I guess he was doing "la maz" breathing while they were taking the boots off. And he was only there about an hour...bad weekend for a few people....

I'm the girl who took pics...but i only asked him, because I thought he might want to see them in the future...LOL...I hope he doesn't think i'm some kinda weirdo!! LOL... Tell him that we hope he has a speedy recovery and that I posted the pics on DDR so he could check them out...Thanks.

Was he riding a KX450 bike? Its Caleb Christensen from Christensen Bros pipeline...that sucks ill have to go see him

These are the pics I took of the guy we found that had two broken ankles. I think his name was Caleb. I sure hope he is doing ok.... If anyone knows... Please give us an update..

yesterday, my family and I met the attendant at the showers. He was extremely nice. He even told us that if we needed him to open sooner or stay open later , he would accomodate us. Tonight we just got back from the showers, and he was AGAIN extremely nice and polite. Myself and my two girls took showers. They were CLEAN and very HOT! It was well worth the money. I think that the Dumont people should appreciate ALL the vendors that come out here.... I was happy to take a hot shower in the dunes. We're not at the Ritz Carlton, and you should not expect that level of service. I think that whatever ATTITUDE you present to someone, you'll get it right back. So if you want someone to be nice to you, be nice to them!

Hey firecracker! The weather is perfect. sunny and no wind. The nights are chilly, just perfect for a fire, not too cold. The days are gorgeous! And the dunes are fun... gettin ready to go on the first run of the day. :beer_bang:

Hey Karen. I'm way jealous. My measely 2 days there seems like nothing compared to how long you guys will be there this week. Tell Krusty thanks for the damn texts & pix too. I told him I'd post up the goofy azz Urkel just for rubbing it in.

We are out in the Dunes... Day 2 of a 7 day trip. Having a great time!! We have Urkel, Krusty and DawnLou and Sidney, Tommy and his lady, and Vegas Style just got here... Dunin all day, and now time to party all night.....

We are coming from Rancho Cucamonga, not sure how many miles, but it takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes. Can't wait, we'll be out there on Monday, we camp near bathroom 6... :mischevious:

We just decided to go Monday to Sunday, but we have to go home Wednesday night, but then we'll be back Thursday night... Can't wait. The car is at Buckshot right now, they are fixin the overheating problem!!
