  1. So I took it out and had fun. I climbed Comp hill no problem in 2nd. I lost my gas cap so I found a lid to some container and i used 2 bungees to keep it on. Then after about 3 hours of fun a bolt came out of my right caliper, luckily I just got back to camp. Then my buddy and I just road around in his RZR. But I did find one thing out, I want the Arctic Cat and or something with travel due to I have a bulging disc I just found out after breaking my back paragliding. I don't like the shifting on this car the gears are really close and I don't like seating in these seats sloped back. I think the suspension seats would help out a lot but again do I want to put money into this thing hmmm NOPE. I am just going to take out 20 grand and buy my toy that I want since my wife just got to buy her Audi TT Quattro which we fight over lol. Thank you guys for putting up with me and to Sandawg for having a little bit of patience with a new comer lol. P.S IT WAS WINDY AS FU!@ bad day but still had fun.
  2. After watching a crap load of vids the arctic cat out performs the rzr. Yes the Rzr will beat it ini a straight line on a road but when it comes to jumping and rough terrain it spanks it. The vids where not one sided also. Plus it looks better than the rzr.
  3. Listen Dawg I did not mean to come on here and get ppl in an up roar just looking for guidance. I am sorry for calling you and a$$ but really I am soooo confused. My wife just told me though that I can go buy my Arctic Cat SideXside the new one hells yeah. So I am going to have fun this season then go buy that Arctic cat. Just crazy though for the price of that damn thing I can buy a descent long travel rail but my buddy has a razor so I want to kick his butt with this thing.
  4. Bro I am not ignoring anybody and you don't have to be and a$$ about things. I am new to this sh*t and I am looking for ideas just because I am not doing it this season does not mean sh*t. I was told to come here due to there are nice ppl and at first I was getting a lot of help now I am getting slack from you due to me asking what would you guys do with this motor and money. Yes I am taking everything in on what you guys are saying and I am trying to get to know ppl here since I am new. So please don't be a jerk about it. All I want to do is go out and have a good time meet some ppl drink a beer and go fast weather it be in a 1776 or a ls7 <-- joke. So if I pissed you off like I said just very new.
  5. Ok then maybe I should ask this. With this 1776 motor and 1100 dollars to use for right now. What would you guys do to this motor to get the biggest bang for the buck. I am looking on Samba and found a turbo kit for 1400, the only thing it needs is the carb pretty clean. One thing though could I run the turbo stock at 5 to 6 lbs and get away with out doing any engine crap.
  6. Hey I know I am asking alot of ?'s but I found a ej20 motor (Subaru) with trans for 2400. can I use the trans it comes with or no.
  7. Yes. But I was advised if I keep the boost around 5 to 6 it would be fine. But like I am going to be able to stay at 5 or 6 lbs of boost when I want 8 to 10 maybe 12 lol. But I know I will be happy for this season at 5 lbs. Even with that I should feel a nice change.
  8. I know 3 months. Thats why i will be happy with just my seats And a turbo so i can reach 130hp thats all ppl screw the motor swap until next year
  9. Hell i might call it quits and sell the duel carbs and just throw a turbo on this motor.
  10. I figured Sandawg just hoping different ppl with different ideas. Trust me very confused. yes I am going to take it out to Dumont but need these carbs set up first I mean on the gas its great just hitting the throttle there is a little hiccup. I know that I will not be happy with this 1776 motor with maybe 75hp even with the close ratio gearing. I took it to Nellis Dunes and ran fine until the points fouled fixed that problem the next day never again. I am like a kid in a candy store with money burning my pocket and not knowing what to eat.
  11. Ok I sold my 350 and want to either dump the money into the 1776 or motor swap. I need Ideas guys very confused since this is my first car and I want something that is water cooled since it gets hot. I was thinking of either a vtec or Subaru motor. I just don't know what it takes to put this in. Would there be any welding modes or will it just bolt right in stuff like that. Also would the trans that comes with the motor be ok for the dunes since I see a lot of ppl with the Mendola trans "pardon me if I got the name wrong". I have about 1100 grand to blow right now on this another 1800 after school starts. So this my other idea for the VW motor. But a fuel injection kit for it so I don't have to F!@# with these Dellarto carbs anymore cause I just can't get them. I have adjusted the valves .006 recommended, new spark plugs, rebuilt the carbs, accu-fire ignition, just can't find the right setting. My biggest issue with the vw motor is that it is not liquid cooled and I worry about heat. The car is only 800lbs so 160hp Vtec motor would be fine with me not looking to break the sound barrier. I know I have asked a lot of ?'s but the guys that bought the motor advised that there are a bunch of good guys on here that are willing to help, hell I will buy the beer and pay someone to help with these damn carbs to get them right. Or even a motorcycle motor gxr1000. Let me sum up what I would be happy with. Something with at least 140hp on this car since its so light but more is better. Feed me ideas guys. Thank you all.
  12. Small Block 350 4 bolt main bored 30 over 450hp 390lbs tq. My brother built this motor for my Miata as a wedding gift but I bought a sand rail instead. So the Miata is on the back burner. The motor is not stock I know that. It has the manifold but no valve covers on it yet. It has been covered up in my garage and lubed and turned every month. It has never been in a car yet. I am looking to get 1300 for it or 1400 if you want the engine stand OBO. If you have any ?'s just ask I will post pics if you would like. I wish I could use this motor for my rail but it wont fit.

  14. Wow I can't believe how helpful ppl are here its real nice. Well I have been to the dunes many times but with friends, one friend with his brand new Tatum car and all I can say is holy shi! I had fun. The carbs are a pain need fuel injections but i do know once there set up its real nice. I do want to go but damn its hot. Buddy and I are thinking of Coral Pink in a couple of weeks should be ok up there. All my friends are telling me the same thing just go out and have fun which I will but I am the guy that wants more. Well off to work on carbs some more and adjust the valves if they need it.
  15. Well this sucks. Is a swing axle good though. Also anything on the carbs. I will pay do get this running right or if there is somewhere I can take it that's not going to take the bank.
  16. Ok I am tired of these carbs. I sat there for 2 hours turning this and turning that and I don't know what I am doing and I read but still don't know if I am doing the right thing. So who can I pay on here to sync my carbs and get this thing running right or how much for fuel injection.
  17. I don't like those types of front ends plus mine looks a lot better than that which you can paint. Funny though damn thing says Saturn right on it lol. Plus if I was to buy that what would I do with the one I have now.
  18. Here is some thing for you guys. I am going to be dumping 2000 into to it in about two months. What would you guys do? Now first thing, I have replaced most of the rubber/boots, rebuilt the carbs and some other small things.
  19. Hell like I said I would be happy at 130 Hp since the car is only just 800 pounds wet. Also any Idea on how I can get a little more travel from the rear end. I think I was told on this car it was at 6" with these Marvin Shaw shocks , would love to be at 10 or 12"
  20. I agree I have been looking into the Ecotec motors and find Subaru, Honda, Nissan complete motors for 800 to 1000 including wires turbos everything. I do have a bus trans with IRS rear end from what I was told. Also there is no play in the linkage. I just found out that I have been syncing them wrong. I have been syncing just the front two and not all four due to that I read that on AIRCOOLED.NET I believe.
  21. I do have a bus trans with IRS rear end from what I was told. I find Subaru motors complete for about 800 to 1000. Includes wires turbo everything. I take It I would need some sort of adapter plate from motor to trans.
  22. What would I have to do to make my 1776 into a 2180 or would it be better to just make it a 1915cc. Looking for HP, I have duel 40mm Dellartos on the 1776 and there is a cam in there just don't know which one just bought the rail and the guy did not remember. Also roughly what would the cost be on doing this. Also I found this in another forum site where this guy was talking about turbo. I would like to turbo but thinking of heat issues but this is what the guy said. "A turbo from a 300zx or 280zx (T3) with the built-in wastegate set at 8 psi and a single SU carb from a 240Z will make that little bug engine come to life. And these parts can be found at your local "You-Pull-It" type junk yard for less than 100.00. Then do a little pipe fabrication, run a oil line and drain line to the turbo, lock the distributor at 25 degrees, fab the carb linkage and air cleaner, and drive. And you don't need a muffler with a turbo, since a turbo is considered a legal muffler. 8 psi of boost will turn a 60hp engine into a 95hp engine. But the biggest improvement will be the low rpm torque which will make the car feel much stronger than 95hp. Then later add some better heads and some higher lift rockers for a 80hp non-turbo engine, then 8 psi of boost will add 1.544 times the power for 125hp. Then later up to 10 psi boost for 135hp, which is a lot of hp for a bug". Thanks guys.

  24. WOW you guys a freaking awesome. I went to samba.com and nothing not one word of help. As for the Subaru motor, it will be not an issue have seen plenty of them drop a ej20 motor in. As for the Marvin Shaw, I do want to either upgrade them or go to a fox system. I saw another Mazzone that had more suspension out of the back and front but I don't know how far I can take this rear end, Hell right now I would be happy with 10 to 12 inches of travel. As for the Flat spot, it happens as soon as I hit the throttle but once I get going it just goes since I have close gear ratio, well at least it feels like it lol. Thank you for that link on the seats. I am getting some school money that I am dumping right into this car to make it a 2180. I do have a V-8 450hp 390lbs that was going in my Miata but this rail put that on the back burner. So I am selling this motor never been in a car my brother built it for my wedding gift. Bored 30 over no need for a timing chain 4 bolt main 1996 and newer vortech other things have been done brother can't remember and I don't know enough about it. Selling for $1400 obo if anybody knows someone. Do you guys think it was a good deal for $4000? The motor was brand new and ran once for adjustments and there is a cam in there don't know which one and to nervous to pull it apart since I don't know enough yet. Doing my homework though. Again I just want to say thank you guys for helping.
