Is anyone running the Pacific customs VW beam long travel suspension kit?  I'm in need of a new front end set up and looking for advice before pulling the trigger on buying this full set up they have.  Right now I'm only running trailing arms with no shocks and it seems as it just beats me up and the car up.   The shop in Reno has a set up a little bit cheaper but using empi parts and I'm not a huge fan of some of their parts. 

This is my set up now.

First trip with this car. Little to hot to run it a lot but it was great. **** For sale if any one is interested **** want to upgrade to a bigger car got spoiled this last dune trip.

Here are 2 different styles that I found that might work.

Anyone running just a fox 2.0 smooth body shock with remote reservoir? I dont know anything about them if the are good just to run without a spring?

Really hard to see the picture, but it looks like there is some kind of bracket mounted to the bearing carrier.

Ok yet another question? So on this new build that I am working on I found out that my rear shocks off my old car will not work on this new build how do I figure what length shocks I will need? I have a mid engine type 1 swing axle transmission. The shocks I have now are only 13 inches from eye to eye and they are too short the axle almost touches the exhaust when I hold it up in a round about area where the shock mounts might go. Also I need to figure out where to mount the lower section there are no mounts for them as my old cars trailing arms were to short to use. Anyone have pictures or anything would be a great help. I was going to weld on shock mounts onto the bearing housings but I was informed that doing so would warp them.

I was looking at the fox 2.0 smooth series with reservoirs but not really sure if they are strong enough to hold the weight with out springs?

any other shock ideas would be awesome!

Thank you for posting the pictures I did not realize that they were that big, they were taken from my phone. I am going to manufacture a bracket from the mounting holes to the center of the motor.

Hi All,

Need help with a new frame that I picked up the other day. So I have a Johnny Speed and Chrome that is cracked in a few spots and I picked up another one and now I have a question on how the motor mounts into this new section. My old frame has a mount that is at the front (back for non mid engine) but this new frame has 2 mounts that are 14 inches apart and no where on the motor has mounts for that. Any help would be great. Type 1 VW engine.

Hi, I am just wondering if you still have this car? If so I have been looking for a mid engine chassis only what would come with it? Do you have a number you could be reached at?
