That's what I thought! Its hitting the pressure plate not going inside of it. I checked on my bug tranny and it hits also. I guess I have a defective one.

pop the t/o ring off the pressure plate(its to bad you don't have any freinds to help you out)

This is how I have repaired tanks in the past

empty the tank really good

take out all plugs,caps,senders and pump assy

put in about 10lbs of dry ice

wait about 10 to 15 min(2 beers) and it will be safe to weld on until dry ice is gone

I use "GAURD DEER"(not available in all areas)

they also help with weed eating and make a tasty barbecue

After 35 yrs in automotive I think they need to crush every car from about 1978 to 1994 anyhow!!!! I'm sure we won't be seeing a 89 Ford Taurus or Chevy Lumina at Barrett Jackson 20 yrs from now

Nothing at all Dan, but every one of his posts since singing up are nothing but chit talk to get a rise out of people. That's not what this site is for. Yes we all do it from time to time and have fun with it, but it just seemed like that's all he was using the site for. In my opinion, it is a waste of the resources (which are pretty damn limited to us these days).

I also put new batteries in it just recently because I thought the batteries were bad that's when I discovered my truck is not charging the trailer.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Finally cleaned all the crap out of the carb about 5 times, replaced the filter, hit it with a BFH and replaced the bad gas in the tank and wala it works.

Its about effin time!!!!

I've got an Onan 5500 generator that won't run. Cleaned the carberator out a few times. Still will only run if I hold the choke on. Any idea's?????? Thanks. Bob.
