  1. Not again???

    I thought we all agreed, it depends on how fat the riders are?? :dolphin:

    The DS has a lot of top end even up a hill but depends on how long of a hill climb Banshee hill the ds will loose :broke: but if it is longer than banshee hill and the rider can hold on the DS will win :laughing:

  2. Gotta love the pre-jump beer chug.

    After seeing the one at Dumont last summer cruising the dunes without any trouble then thie :laughoff: I must say I am kinda impressed with that thing but still wouldn't own one :laughoff:

  3. Groceries = $100

    Alcohol = $200

    ~2.5 tanks for F250 (diesel) = $300

    ~20 gallons for toy hauler = $75

    Pass = $40

    Wife spending on vendor row = $100

    :flipoff:

    Sounds like I need to be dunefreak's friend....Hahahahaha

    Just fuel alone for the toy hauler plus tow vehicle and the second truck full of wood and all othervehicles for the week I stopped adding the receipts when it hit $750.00 just for fuel :flipoff: :rant_on: :flipoff:

  4. :flipoff: :rant_on:

    We just looked at the lovely $40 pass we purchased (maybe we'll frame it, since it cost us so much). Anyway, it doesn't say anything about the holiday pass not counting towards the season pass. Furthermore, this wasn't on the "rules" that Valero had posted. They need to honor the $40. it's not our fault the BLM didn't inform the vendors properly!!! :flipoff::think:

    I got the same story from the guy at valero so when I got to the gaote at Dumont and asked the BLM guy as I entered about the date ending on t-day he said they were not issueing the week passes for the holiday so I asked does this mean I have to pay twice since I was staying till monday and he told "Listen to me WE wont be here on Monday " so what is this b.s. ? :flipoff: :rant_on:

  5. Got home yesterday afternoon :( . coming home to reality after being at the dunes :driver: :mc_smiley: :dance: :rockwoot: Really sucks! But as for t-day weekend it was my best in the past 5 years at Dumont :MBdance::rockon: It was reallywierd at night it was quiet :dunno: and you could actually ride a quad in the dunes on fri. and sat. :MBdance: I even went up comp a few time on quad and in rail both days :assblast: Only had on issue that was with the idiot w/ a brown w graphics trlr towing it was a new chevy 2500 4x4 they stopped next to our camp for about 3 hrs. helped them start thier gen. uh TURN GAS ON :idea::blink::coocoo: when they drove off they left 3 bags of trash and oil So I went to rangers and pointed them out :blah::blah: and of course after they were told by BLM and had to turn around thay called someone to p/up before BLM got there now I am looking like a idiot ( left cam at home) my problem with BLM is on the way back this guy was calling the rangers a bunch names and doing at least 35 mph back to camp with attitude he never recieved a Ticket :banghead: :angry2: and he actually asked for a free pass for his time and ranger said no because he called him a a..hole :banghead: What are they there for ? :undecided:

  6. I have to agree with Bob put the burm across the entrance at least it would cut the flow of traffic down :ban-split: I compare the traffic to and in front of to the 91 freeway at 5 :blink: I go to D to get away not to remember the traffic I deal w/ everyday! :banghead::pissed:

  7. Was it a red o'neal helmet where he was expecting to pay 150.00 or more?

    If so I know nothing about it..... :driver:

    Although my wife already put a comment on this topic I still wanna say you and your wife were the nicest peeps :drinkbeer: I really was expecting to get :shocked2: considering that it was the beginning of the weekend and all not only did you guys not rip me off but went out of your way (wife) to actually try and find me one to match my gear :shocked2: and when I got it to my trailer I had noticed the price on the box was $20.00 more than you charged me :thumbsdown: you peeps will definately get my business again as well as everyone who asks me who to go to ,as well as friends THANKS AGAIN we need more people like you to make this sport affordable to all ! :beerpint::rockon:

  8. Last year halloween 06 a few of the DDR MEMBERS went over to comp and Volunteered to pick up TRASH that was left over from the disrespectful a$$hats :laughoff: who partyed there the previous nights. we almost filled a truck bed w/ garbage from other people. Would anyone be willing to go over and help pick up trash sunday morning? Some of us may be feeling like this sunday morning :laughoff: but an hour of your time will make a big differance :laughoff:

    Yeah me the wifey and a couple of our friends will help w/ this I remember last year :laughoff:

    Everything evolves in steps/increments. Glamis did not become the freak show that it is overnight... it took years for the increments to transpire.

    Stripper poles, etc. is just a step/increment in that direction. What would be next?

    Before I had kids, I didn't really care and enjoyed the spectacle of Glamis. Now that I do have kids and have matured, we have pretty much stopped going to Glamis just for this reason. The comprehensive element of Glamis (meaning that the activities that go on at Glamis attract people that do not enjoy and respect our sport of duning/offroading... they are only their to "party" and all that that entails without the close watch of authroities) is not what I want my family subjected to... at least on holiday weekends. Thousands of people travel from So Cal to Glamis (3-4 hours) without sand toys just for this purpose. Vegas is half this distance to Dumont and this would be just the beginning. Sure this same type of people go to Dumont now, but the numbers and percentages are still low compared to Glamis.

    My point of all this is.... stripper poles would be the next step/increment in that direction and I don't like it.

    When people ask why I stopped going to Glamis very much, my reply has always been that Dumont is more family oriented and I felt safer with my kids on quads there than in the unpredictability of Glamis crowds.

    I'll fight to keep it that way!

  10. When I first read this post I just shook my head and said WHY? Now after reading the remainder of the posts I shake my head and say WHY?

    WHY would you bring this to a family type area where age control is impossible. Second, why would you bring something that you are going to get hassled for right under the Law Enforcement Officers noses and than b*tch that "they shut you down" Last thing I had heard about the t-day incident was it cost you $1300.00 in fines and you were lucky that they wern't pushing stiffer charges against you. Now you want to come back and do it again?

    What part of this equasion am I missing? Or maybe I am not the one missing it?

    I stopped going to comp hill on Thanksgiving 2005 just because of this incident. It showed me that all the things that I don't like happening at the dunes were there all in one place and by me going it was being a hypocrit.

    So do what you want but I personally hope they write you, book you and take your rig as evidence.

    I fight to keep Dumont open for my kids and grandkids and I don't want to see yahoo's like this ruin it for them.

    Now I am off my soapbox!

    I have to agree w/ Terry leave this stuff at Glamis :laughoff: Thats why I go to Dumont it is kid friendly :laughoff: Until this type of B.S. starts :laughing:
