  1. There are so many choices for an engine that my head is going to explode! And I keep finding myself saying " oh for another 50 bucks I could get this one" over and over again. My $400 budget is now looking like about $600 plus the junk I need to get it running, new plastics, paint, seat cover, exhaust, etc. Damn things are a money pit!
  2. So... Is it Feb 5th for sure now? I need to know how long I have to get my junk together.
  3. As long as it isn't Feb. 11th. King of the Hammers baby!
  4. I'm thinking of putting a rear view mirror on my bike so I can see you...
  5. Ok, cool. Thanks for the link & info. What carb are you running on that? The $400 budget is the goal but we all know how that goes! As soon as I buy a power plant I will start a build thread. Sucker! You beating me is the reason I'm looking at an upgrade! Let me know if you are serious because I'll try to get a package deal, if possible. Nothing I have ever built has been easy. Everything is a struggle, a battle & a hassle. But I love to build sh*t. I'm going to take my time & do this one right.
  6. Do you have this engine? That 6 plate clutch sounds like a winner.
  7. LOL! I'm going to stop by this PCC place this week. It is down the street from work. I think the 140 would work good for the price. An 88 kit costs about the same. Maybe all ask
  8. I think that is too much engine for ya. I saw what that Raptor did to ya.
  9. Sounds cool but £500 = $775 US plus export fees. That's a little out of my budget. I'm not in any hurry, so I'll keep looking around.
  10. So, which is better (reliable & stronger), the GPX or the Lifan?
  11. It seems like a pretty good engine for the money (not looking to spend a grand!) and most people seem to like the Lifan brand.
  12. Hi all. I have three stock 70's that are begging for some upgrades. Right now I'm in the middle of a honda 110 swap (thanks for the help Chris!). That one should be ready to run (but won't be pretty) for the Regatta. I want that one to be a dependable camp bike that will haul my big butt around. The second one needs to be a little more evil and a real ripper. So I'm thinking of a Lifan 140 clutch engine. This one... All black Lifan 140 with carb Looking for opinions on this type of engine for haulin' some butt. So, my question is: What engine would you use for around 400 bucks? What do you think of the one in the link? Thanks all.
