  1. I have 2 sets of extremes. had em for about 3 years. never had a paddle come off or lost a bead. i'd get a set of 21/12/8 6 paddle. got mine from fulerton sandsports. $250 a set on douglas .120's. ordered mine about 9 am one day, were at my house the next day. Call them up. tell them what mods u have, they'll set u up with the right tire/wheel combo

FYI You can also call Duke at the Quadshop he has done the same thing for me, order one day at your house the next, he is located in Vegas if you live here. 702 340 5433

  2. I have an 06 with a grip of power and I have had the best luck with the new Sand Star v type paddle mounted on 9in rears as far as all around dunning. I also run the same combo on my built ltz and they work great. As far as hill shootin I could not tell you.

FYI I run the rears on my trx at 3.5 lbs on beadlocks and have never lost or torn a paddle, I have riden with Wingnut, he an attest not ever a tire problem

  3. I would go with a 6 cup extreme. 20x10-8. I had those on my trx and it was only a little more built than yours. I never lost a paddle or got a flat....

  4. :banghead::blink: Oh for Christ's sake, just go duning and be careful! Does that number, whatever it may be, matter to you when you are out there having fun? No it doesn't. We all know it is dangerous and most of us take extra care when out there.

I have to agree with you! Yes it is sad when we have a death in our wonderful sport and we all send prayers and feel bad for the surviving family members. However, when you are so concerned that you start throwing numbers together to try to convince yourself it is still safe out there then it is time to stop riding. My brother was a multiple off road world champion who was injured in 1981, spent 18 years in a coma and then died on his bday in 1999. I celebrate his life every year by goin sand dunning, his love. If you take every precaution we can and have fun thats all you can ask for. I prefer not to keep a tally and keep that worry in the back of my head. If you want to do some research find out why 83% of all injuries that happened at Dumont and treated at Las Vegas and surrounding area hospitals in 2007 involved alcohol and/or drugs? That is information that hurts us all. Anti dune activists find this stuff out and use it to close us down saying look we can save the enviroment and human life if the area was closed. How about people being responsible and go out and have fun, you don't have to be drunk to sand dune and have fun. In reality that means that only 2-3 deaths happen a year in which we could call it an "accident", this poor guy sounds like one of those, at least he passed doin what he loved which will not happen to most of us.

  5. wuts the price per gallon?

Tony at Quadmania sels VP c12, u4.2 for sure thats what I buy. It is like $58 for a 5 gallon can for the u4.2 and a bit cheaper I believe for the c12, but they can change so don't hold me to an exact number. I purchased three weeks ago and thats about what it was.

  6. how serious is riding with no flag; more specifically, with a group of people. i realize saftey first and that a flag is mainly for my own saftey. (i ride a dirtbike) but when i go to do tricks like supermans and nac-nac's, the flag seriously gets in the way. how much trouble would i be in, or how much would it cost me if when i got to a jump, i took my flag off while i was hitting the jump and laid it on the ground or whatever? i would have spotters and everything, just no flag. any idea?

It's a $25.00 fine. But that is not the end of it. By you not having flag and him stopping you, it allows him to have probable cause to check for anything illegal such as, "green" sticker, spark arrestor, sobriety check and even run your vin if he deems. For those of us that reside in Nevada it is not a law that your machine have a title, but in California it is the law. All over San Diego (my hometown) I am hearng stories of guys that were at Gordon's well and were cited for no registration. In California if your bike gets imponded for any reason you must have either a title or a manufactures certificate of origin in order to claim it from impound. A bill of sale does not show legal ownership. FYI

  7. thank u, and i will give it more gas and i will clean the carb.

if any body esle might think differant than tell.

    Hey brother,

  8. Just a quick note to all that care, the tribute ride for my brother Ace Williams is January 26th at the Buttercup sand dunes, all are welcome and I always host a bbq while it last. Last year was prime rib and baked potatoes and we had almost 80 people. To those of you who do not know who Bob "Ace" Williams was, he was a pioneer in our sport. He developed the original 250r that Honda eventually produced. He was building, racing and winning championships on full suspended three wheelers long before thier time. He was injured in 1981 testing a liquid cooled 480 2 stroke three wheeler proto type and spent the next 19 years in a coma. He passed on January 26th, 1999 (his birthday) and the following year we scattered his ashes at the Buttercup sand dunes, his favortie place to ride. Every year since then I have held a bbq/ ride/ party on his birthday to celebrate the things he gave his life designing to eventually give us the technology to get to the machines we have today. Come on out and enjoy!

  9. heres a pic of it in action......your bike is running good Aaron.

Sounds like it runs good! I just finished putting my honda bak together, Ice Cube took five months to get my new 557 motor done, but it was worth the wait. I was on my Gust LTZ 450 when I saw you I believe last time. I have not ridden the Honda yet (except for around the block and on the Dyno at Jardine), the dyno numbers were truly incredible producing more torque than hp. I am real curios to see how it runs in the sand. You headin out this weekend? I built a 400ex show/ dunner for my brother as a b-day gift and he might be comin up from San Diego this weekend, if he does I am there.

  10. There is a 505lb weight restriction for rider and quad combined. No shaws,no skinny gundrilled drag axles,no power adders,in frame silenced pipe, full brakes,no spindle mounts. You can use a 34" play axle. There are all the rules over on planetsand. You can run certain Oxy fuels like u4.2 and u2,a couple more too i cant remember them all there is a list they have of all the legal fuels. There is no motor build limit as long as its under 650cc's.the bike that won was a 491 stroker.

491 stroker, yamha, honda, suzuki? Who whose the motor builder, any idea? You have the orange yfz don't you? I believe I met you at dumont in the off season. Thanks for the info, maybe I will catch you out there.

  15. Well, I am going to buy a sparks full exuast eventually, but im also saving for a new diesel, so I dont want to spend too much money right now...so I ask for DDR's opinions on these differant pipes which i think are reasonably priced...

If these are your options save your dough and wait for the Curtis Sparks. If I owned a yfz 450 I would run CT or Sparks

  16. Chef Wally here, so that was you guys huh? We were the other three guys out there. I was on my gust suzuki and my bud was ridin my kfx with our buddy dave on his banshee. Was it awesome or what? We got there at 4:30 am and were ridin right when the sun came up. After the first ride we looked back over to the east in front of the back set ofdunes and saw the only other truck out there, wish we would have come over to say hi. We were right off the main road to comp around the corner of the main finger. The best part of the day was my bud ridin the kfx was his first time to ever see let alone ride in the dunes.
