  1. good one busa girl you all see that iam riding a banshee and its a 4 stroke thats wining max are you going ???? or just talking i talked to your dad and hes not sure he is going to take you and is going to have your sister ride the quad lol well it would be faster :blonde:

    LOL LOL

YA I'm going to be out there. We might be out there thursday, not sure yet.

Have a safe trip out there.

Dont mark those dunes up too much before i get out there lol

  2. Bruce you bringing that turboed clunker out to race or sit at camp, its probably best if you left that bike at home (its all what it is good for) lol. Leave the racing for the bikes that run. lol

You know that certain someone that has a red R1 banshee (I hate red), is he going to be out there for me to warm up on. lol lol lol

Expect a 1300 busa for presidents Weekend. Lol lol

For a starter bike, I would go for a used one. Your little bro is going to grow out of 90cc bike quickly. If you have a good guess on the overall condition of the used bike you find and you feel confident about it, then go for it. With the economy in the shape its in, you should be able to find a bitchen deal on a used bike. People need quick money.

I have no idea about this bike(haven't taken the time to research), but it would be worth a double take.

    hope this helps

  4. The banshees arent making the power the turbo busa makes but it most likely weighs about 200ish pounds and making some damn good HP itself.Like bert said you run those same 2 bikes up a bigger hill like either of the Sand Mountains it wouldnt be close. All in all I have never been overly impressed with street bike conversions. They seem to take way to long to rev out.

But man do those quads give you goos bunks when they rev there motors :headbang1:

    sound so good

  5. Probably paid about the same for the whole bike as it cost to put togeather a fast street bike powered banshee.. maybe alittle more but not much. The 12 will run 80+ up banshee every trip out without a SINGLE PROBLEM. Somewhere in the 140-150hp range. Like I said I've never been beat by a street bike powered quad and the one that does beat me is gonna have a lot of money in it.

That true, if a street bike powered quad is going to keep up with any thing above a 12 mil it is going to need a turbo on it and that can cost from 3-6K for the kit.

how much money do you think it would cost to build a 24 mil banshee with all the extras; drag frame, axel, suspension, arms, built 24 mil engine that bored out, pipes, ect. I truly mean building a banshee that is extremely fast! How much?

  6. Quite a few of them. The bike I ride never has a problem getting hot and has been about as reliable as you can get. I don't understand why ppl think drag bikes are always getting hot or breaking? I'd bet dollar for dollar on that one. You can hot lap all you want and temp is never a problem. I'm the one that usually needs a break.. not the bike. But your right there is always something faster, and it's almost always a banshee. :D

What do you have done with your bike?

  7. It doesn't matter what you ride, there is always somebody faster. I'd bet though dollar for dollar you're getting a faster more reliable bike with a street bike motor. I definately had my share getting beat by worked banshees, but how many of them can hot lap the hill time after time and keep running without breaking something or overheating ?I like to go out to ride not sit around working on my bikes or waiting for my bike to cool down. just my :laughoff:

you are totally right! those banshees seem like they always need work done to them, thats what happens when you trick those engines up like that. You could be running a hayabusa motor that has an easy 350 HP that is also reliable, and that SOB can run all day and never give you a problem. And you would still be keeping up with those 18 mils.

    four banger motors :offtopic:

  8. I have never heard of that before in my life :laughoff:

I dont see why that would add more HP. If the rag is thick then it is just going to deprive your motor of air and if the rag is thin, well then it might allow your engine to breathe a tine bit easer. But it wont filter your air as well as a air filter would.

    I WOULDN'T ADVISE DOING IT.

Was this just a question or do you want more power on you bike.

  9. Yeah the current owner of the green bike (last I talked to them)apparently bought it from a friend with a 600 in it. They said it wasn't fast enough so they put a GSXR1000 in it.

What kind or gearing you running on your bike ? I would think a 1300 would be a little faster than 70 ? My R1 would run 68 all day and the last time I had it out I was at 70 pretty consistently. I was running a 14/60 with a 12" swingarm and 14 paddle extremes.

This is something I just do as a hobby. I always wanted street bike conversion so I biult one, then I decided that I wanted a turbo conversion so thats where the new project comes in. Have any pics of your bike ?

My front might be 14 or 15 but the rear is 55 tooth. 12" swingarm with skat trak rippers 10 paddle 24in.

I would think that our bikes would be almost the same, I have 145 HP and 90 lbs of torque at the rear wheel and my bike weighs 540 lbs. There is not much difference in power from a R1 and Hayabusa, is there? we lost so HP by ditching the air box, because the motor should be putting out about 160 HP at the rear wheel.

I raced a GSXR 1000 in a banshee frame before, it was good racing. We would take off about the same and once we were about a quarter of the way up the hill I would start to pull away from him.

Do you think my gearing could be the reason why I'm not as fast as I should be. Would it really make the difference of 5 mph you think?

Sorry dont have any pictures of my bike, my other computer just to a sh#t on me and all my pictures where on it.

Did you dyno your R1? How much did it weigh?

  10. I just sold my red R1 Banhsee a few weeks ago. The new onwer may be out there though. He has apparently been out with it a bunch since he bought it. The new bike is in the works but it won't be done for some time. Just got the motor in last week and we're working on the turbo plenum now.

So do you build these bikes for fun, something you would on your spare time?

  11. Is your bike N/A ? I met a guy from Havasu out there a few years ago that had turbo on his busa and ended up breaking the case. Don't know if he ever fixed it but while I was doing 68mph up comp he was at 83.......

All what done to my engine is; Muzzy side winder drag racing exhaust system, pro flow air filter, yoshimura ignition system, drag racing oil pan.

    It's also in a 660 raptor frame.

you mean that green bike first had a 600 cc motor and then they put a 1000 cc motor in it. because that would explain why it all most beat me last time, because the time before that ( when he had the 600 motor?) he would be half way done with the hill when I was at the top. It's a lot faster now! but not fast enough. :beercheers:

My bike was clocked around 70mph on banshee hill.

Hopefully I will have my new sprocket by new years

I missing a couple of teeth on my other one :beercheers:
