  1. we just received by e-mail our 'contract' that BLM sends to vendors. Once they get it back in their hands and process it, they will send the 2014 passes to us. We don't know how many days this will take.

I'll post again when we have them in hand.

Prices remain the same as last year.

This year BLM wants vendors to write the name of the purchaser on the pass or it will be invalid.

This year BLM wants the vendor to write the 'active date' on the pass.

BLM restricts the vendor from giving or selling the pass to others for resale.

I usually split the cost with a friend since we rarely, if ever, go out at the same time and if we do it's in the same vehicle... does the above^^ mean that's not possible anymore?

  3. Haven't been on DDR for quite some time so tonight is the first time I've heard of this. Only met Al a few times, but seemed like one of the nicest guys around, especially draggin fresh food out to banshee hill for all of us crazies at the night drags a few years back.... My condolences to his family. R.I.P.

  4. In that case I wouldn't use a car one either (garmin/tomtom) I know sports authority in Henderson by costco had some nice rugged ones I was looking at for my dad for when he goes hunting in Ak.

  5. Hey Pete I saw an app on amazon last week that had downloadable gps/topographical maps so that when you didn't have service you could still use the maps. Just download the map or whatever route and then be on your way. I'll see if I can find the name for it.

  6. Mother Nature can be an evil b*tch! Its still amazing at how much power and force is stored up....

Growing up on Kodiak Island in southern Alaska we had tsunami siren tests once a week so you got used to that, but when the alarm went off at a different time..... man it made your ***hole pucker and your heart start beating like crazy!

I called my folks this morning and woke them up (forgot there's a three hour time difference now) but they didn't even know about it. Last I heard from alaska is a couple of beaches had 5 foot waves. (Nothing really new though lol)

  7. If you use google maps on the droid instead of verizons app navigation and the maps are free.

The droid has a better camera than the iphone - 8mp to 5mp - the only reason the pictures look better on the iphone is because it has a better display(640x960 pixels to droids 480x854 pixels)

I've never had an iphone but have the ipod touch, essentially same thing but doesn't make phone calls. For ease of use the iphone is hands down a simple machine. Bit the droid is way more customizable and if you take a few hours to orient yourself you'll fly around the operating system.

I did a lot of research before I bought my droid x and a love it! No problems whatsoever, even after dropping it in a bucket of used coolant and letting it dry out.

And just to reiterate, im talking about Motorola's DroidX in the specs.

Of course after I wrote this my screen decided to flip out on tuesday and show me nothing but verticle lines. Took it to VZ and they overnighter me a new phone no questions asked.... apparently that was a common problem on the first issue of the phones, mine just took forever to come up I guess.
