  1. OOOOhhhhhh Im itchen to get out in the sand.. Almost finished with the car.. should be in time for it to stop raining..LOL

    BTW..

How does your little girl do on that quad? My kids have 2 wheelers.. my youngest (girl 9).. does pretty good on the bike for being new.. but I think I want to switch her to a quad so that she can go in the sand a bit easier..

  2. All Valley RV. They know about everything. Its going back in Wednesday for another round of repairs. I will say again, they have been top notch in all of this. Heartland is the one that seems to really not care.

when I was looking at cyclone at first.. we went there as they are 15 min from my house.. The sales guy (at the time ) rubed me the wrong way.. Ive since been back with friends and not had the same experience.

I ended up buying mine at richardsons RV in sun city.

have had great experiences with them as well.. they are just so damm far away.. All Valley wont do warrentee work on coaches they didnt sell..

I called Heartland and started a relationship with the california customer service rep.. Chris.. He's been really good to us so far..

He has given me OK's to have the work done at camping world and then sent us a check when the work was done.

I would love to get stronger landing gear and a couple of small things done on mine that Heatland says is Not an issue.. Im a truck driver.. I work for the studios and work with high end rv's for a living.. I know its a problem.. and like you.. if I get stuck in the desert because my trailer wont lift back up.. My wife is going to crawl up there a$$ with a rake..

Good luck on yours.. If you want to team up on the landing gear let me know.. It might help us a little to work together.

  3. Mark glad to see everything worked out for you. Sorry I did not get back to you but we had a little trouble ourselves. My buddy with the rubicon got in a place where he shouldn't have and almost rolled his pride and joy. Once again sorry I did not come back. Looking forward to duning with you soon.

    PRESTON :barf:

    Preston,

A round of applause for the man that took me for the ride that broke the camels back..LOL.. After meeting you and taking that ride, I had made my decision and it couldnt wait any longer..LOL

    Just so you guys know..

I saw his car (Green Monster)and wanderd over to his camp to talk to him about it.. He was open with as much information as he could give about safe duning, well built cars and just really cool in general. Then we talked him out of a ride :dunno:.

Met him at the bottom of comp hill and got in.. up the hill.. up came the front wheels (hill was empty so it was safe) headed accross the hill (in a wheelie) then grabbed 4th and came down.. I thought.. Aww.. That was luck.. LOL... we did it again.. I couldnt get that sh*t eating grin off my face for days.. when I got home my wife thought I bumped my head...

Then I saw Preston again when the wheel came off my new car.. he stoped and helped us scout a way out of the dunes.

Him and his wife are a very stand up couple and are what really attracted me to the sand.

My experience so far from the people Ive met in the couple of times Ive been to the sand (im a dirt/boat guy) has burned a positive experience in my mind.. I cant wait for the opportunity to pay it fowrard.

Thanks again to everyone Ive met.. We are almost back together and will hopefully be out again soon.

  4. Just livin large man you know how it goes.

Who the hell am I kidding :barf:

Just been working with a few desert trips thrown in. I got back into racing my bike so I have'nt been to the dunes much. How the hell have you been?

By the way dont let this jackpunx clown into your inner circle it just might implode :dunno:

Dont hate... I'll have you back in the sand soon.. and dont worry.. I'll be racing with your old a$$ this year too :D

  5. I have an 07 4012 .. we absolutly love it.. but I feel the same way about the weak landing gear.. I brought it up to them and they said its just slow.. some other small issues.. but nothing they didnt fix right away and nothing that has ever left me stranded..

I pull it with a lifted f 250 or a tractor.. depending on where im going.. It has a 12' garage.. I can fit my sandrail, and 2 adult bikes or one bike and 2 kids bikes..or 3 street bikes..

I dont think they make anything with a garage larger then 12' unless its open.. I'll look at the link.

we got all the extended warrantee's and stuff.. I have noticed some wear on one of my tires that means one of my axles is bent.. I'll bring it to them when the season is over.

  6. I got the parts in and its not as bad as I thought.. Derren over at prowlers says he'll have me up and running for about 600.

He said it has been cracked for a while because of the rust where it broke.. he said that the parts we put back in wont break.. it seems those were VW bus stubs or modified VW stubs.. not sure.. They lasted 4 years .. It looks like the other one gave also.. we are going to change them both and move on.. Ive been working a bunch... I should be able to get the funds together soon..

but if you know anyone who wants a good Beam car.. I got one for sale over in the classifieds.. getting rid of that would put me on easy street..

I'll keep you guys posted and thanks again for all the help.. I was not suprised, the comunities of people in motor sports never leave a fallen man behind.. thats why I love it so much and try to raise my kids with those values.

    King.

Im not sure I could tell you the difference between the injection and carb.. the whole car, suspension, power.. everything was so different.. and very responsive.. I drove a car with your motor in it (in the dirt) with the carb on it.. and it felt very simular to this one..

  7. Congrats !!!!!!!!!! That looks like a super fun car. And you got a smokin deal !!!!! :headbang1:

    Thank You!

I am very happy with the car and was having the time of my life until the wheel poped off.. But it is what it is.

Hopfully I'll get it fixed soon and come play with you guys.

I just need to sell my other rail and I'll be good.. otherwise my wife is not going to be happy about any other money going out :driver:

  8. post-3755-1200267899_thumb.jpg

That's cool you had fun with the new car, Mark. Sucks it broke though. :( Hopefully you get it all handled soon and we can hook up for some runs in the near future. :D

Any pics of your maiden voyage w/ it???

I have one on my phone.. I'll upload it.. a bunch of people were taking pics of the car while we were dragging it out.. Im sure some of those will show up here too.

I was heartbroken when it happend, it gave no signs .. just went.. Luckly I had just come out of a dune, going straight when it happend.. It could have ended bad if it was in another situation.

but up until that moment.. I was beside myself with the car and how solid it was.

  9. Hi all,

Im bad with names but I know a bunch of people from the boards helped this weekend with the unfortunate event (broken micro stub) in the middle of the dunes.. I would have never made it out of there if it was not for your help :)

I know I always stoped to help people in the dirt, water, street or whatever... It came back to me in spades this trip and the DDR people came out in force.

After taking the car appart and looking at the other side it seems that both sides will be changed to insure that not happening anytime soon again.. there is some stress/overspray on the other side from some previous injuries.

but outside of that.. Im extreeeeeemly happy with car, we had a blast while it lasted and it was good to meet you guys in person.

I look forward to getting the car back together and hooking up with all of you again.

    thanks VERY much

    Mark

  10. Wow...badass car. Is that what you just bought? Give us some details. :D:whistle:

    :worthless_without_pics:

the list is long but every detail has been coverd..

2387 turbo injected dry sump motor

actually.. there is a very long list of things it has in the spam section

its the 2003 sand limo that was for sale

  11. what pete said. with an increase in the CA green sticker fees...HOPEFULLY :assblast: we will see at least a decrease in the gate fees. The picture that was painted at the last TRT meeting was positive, in that Dumont wont have to compete with other govt entities for grants.

30 bucks for a week of camping isnt bad tho, compared to other places i go.....10 bucks a day to camp @ pismo...with reservations NEEDED and getting harder and harder to get, due to the popularity in off-roading

the ISDRA is a completely different animal from dumont. their funding sources come from other sources than just green sticker fees, as part of that area is also a nature preserve too.

so there is not day pass? its only week passes? $30 to dune for the day?

  12. called me ten times to say he was comming, didn't call once to say he wasn't

    just never heard anything,

it wasn't really for sale, I told him if he was standing there with cash in hand

we could talk, he dug up a add that the guy I bough it from was running

also I ran it for sale on hot boat as a joke

I just got off a 36hr job and am just getting up and around..

I appreciate all the info you gave me and if you ever want to sell the car I have someone who may be interested.

After a lot of investigaion I ended up finding a car that was a little better of a match for my driving style..

    thanks again Steve

  13. thanks for the reply Bob,

    I sent you a PM

i have the 4 seat phantom . its my second one . i swear by them. fantastic car.

car craft biulds excellent vws ( i had a car craft motor and turbo in my mid engien my last beam car) ed over there knows his stuff

wright gearbox biulds strong trannies ( ricky is a great guy)

im suprised it has gear ones and not wild woods however

that car must have been biult just before mine

mine was started in july 05 i got it oct 15 05

and matts car was biult next so it must be an early 05 car.

it was probably biult light for the vw motor ( chris really beefs em up if you go high hp or tell him your jumping it)

there hand biult by chris and paul

service by them is great they take good care of me.

thats my eyeball in the pic below and yes i love my eyeball.

my suspension is awsome but i have kings with his valving in them. and by passes but i know two guys with the 2 seat getter car and they love them.

  14. barefoot bob has an eyeball fab car and absolutely loves his! They are badass cars :D

I just called the manufacture and asked him about the airbag system.. I guess they did it that way so the guy could load it in a low trailer.. He said its a duning car.. not for jumping and that the airbags were only to adjust the ride height.. very interesting

I know funco's have airbags and they seem to work really good for them..
