  1. Be careful what you cut and paste -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We all do it. You see an article that relates to a discussion so you copy and paste it into a post. It appears that newspapers are going to crack down on the use of their copyrighted material. Make sure you give credit or at least cite your source. Steve Gibson has a plan to save the media world’s financial crisis — and it’s not the iPad. Borrowing a page from patent trolls, the CEO of fledgling Las Vegas-based Righthaven has begun buying out the copyrights to newspaper content for the sole purpose of suing blogs and websites that re-post those articles without permission. And he says he’s making money. “We believe it’s the best solution out there,” Gibson says. “Media companies’ assets are very much their copyrights. These companies need to understand and appreciate that those assets have value more than merely the present advertising revenues.” ... ...Gibson’s vision is to monetize news content on the backend, by scouring the internet for infringing copies of his client’s articles, then suing and relying on the harsh penalties in the Copyright Act — up to $150,000 for a single infringement — to compel quick settlements. Since Righthaven’s formation in March, the company has filed at least 80 federal lawsuits against website operators and individual bloggers who’ve re-posted articles from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, his first client. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/201...g-for-dollars/ Newspaper Chain’s New Business Plan: Copyright Suits | Threat Level | Wired.com
  2. Thanks all. Yeah Sahara has a bad rep. EL Monte is more expensive, but maybe you get what you pay for. Road bear seems like a nice in between.
  3. Hey all I am looking to rent a Moho in Vegas in late sept for about a week. I have read some horrible reviews of all of the rental companies. Do any of you have good or bad experience with them. So far I have looked at Cruise America, Sahara Rv and Vacation RV rentals. It seems mostly unhappy people wrote reviews.
  4. Yeah that's what I had on it. I think they were old or left out in the sun. Thanks for the reply.
  5. So I finished off the paddles that came with my rail last weekend... :kissass: Oh Yea! I am new to 4 wheels in the dunes. I saw someone on vendor row selling Stephen paddles for $400 a pair. Knowing that buying stuff at Dumont you are understandably paying more for convenience and such I decided to pass. After looking today that was not a bad price. I could not find any info on Stephen tires online. I really like the way they looked. Does anyone have any info on those or is the vendor reading this? I have an old school 1835 sandrail. Any info on less expensive paddles would be appreciated or maybe used.
  6. Reminds me of a letter a guy got in Iraq. The girl dumps him and asks for her picture back. He is heartbroken so he goes around camp and gathers up about 2 dozen and sends them to her. The reply says please pic out your photo and return the rest I can't remember which one you were. FUNNY.....
  7. We have friends in Phelan on Caughlin rd and yea it's rough and long. Sucks
  8. I didn't know where else to put this so move it you want just tell me where it went. I am looking for a used cab over camper for a 6 ft full size truck. Self contained with a/c would be nice but I am not too picky.
  9. I don't think anyone would take mine. There is alot of DDR peeps maybe we could start DDR storage? I am number 4,684 if everyone chipped in 10 buck that would be uuuuuh? Alot
  10. Does anyone know of an RV storage in Baker? I have an old MOHO thats great for staying in but sucks to drive.
  11. Thanks I will post pics. It looks like my project has already had some changes in direction. Rather than making a toy/play vehicle I am going to build an offroad rescue vehicle. I am a volunteer EMT and that is what I do on the weekends. I just had a knee injury and surgery so I can't ride for a while. I am in the process of trying to drum up some sponsorships to help out with it if I can.
  12. This is probably and age old question but after searching the site and the FAQ's I could not find anything. What are the rules on child restaints or what are the excepted practices.
  13. Good advise thanks. I am going with the stock engine and stuff to start with. It has a 350 with a throttle body. I don't know how that will work out. I am going to make a post about child restaints in the general section. I am sure someone has the low down on all that. Jeff
  14. I have an 89 blazer I want to turn into a dual sport toy. I am going to have a tubular frame professionally made. I am thinking 4 adults and 2 kids. After that I am uncertain on what I want or need to do. Any suggestions from past experiences on what does or does not work or look cool. Also I found child seats on the web, but they are not available in California. Anybody know the laws on youngters and offroad restraints?
