  1. As everyone started talking more and more about the flyer idea for Dumont, I thought it would be a great idea. Maybe we could have a flyer that had helpful information about Dumont like rules, dune ettiquette, tips on camping and riding there, maps, etc. It would be a great way to help educate the people of Dumont. Once we get enough info for a flyer together, I'll make it a pdf file or something that is printable from the website. Just like everyone said, this way everyone could print up as many as they need and pass em out to shops, people at Dumont, friends, etc.

So....lets get a list of some general duning safety, ettiquette and tip ideas.

    here...I'll start with a couple

    1. when you see a fellow duner sitting in the dunes, either stop or wait for a "thumbs up" to see if they are ok or need help.

    2. Don't cut through someone else's line of quads/bikes/ sandrails.

    3. Be considerate of any duners behind you when riding across the flats where there are rocks. Rocks hurt!

    I like #3 :rules::thumb::clap:

  2. Just a few months ago for my birthday all my friends got together and bought me

a 2.0 subaru motor and the adaptor plate, clutch and pressure plate as a suprise

birthday present .I couldn't believe all those guys got that pulled together without

me or my wife knowing anything. That is a great bunch of very good friends my

dune family. Thanks again guys it will be in and running by next season.

    :2cents::beerpint: :dance: :laughoff:

  3. After riding in Petes car I definitly would look at Short Sand Cars first Petes car rocks that thing

is very well balanced, for such a small car at speed is very stable. Not all cars handle the same

the next one I would look at is Tom Pro Designs haven't been in one but heard a lot of good things

    :thumb:

  4. Big summer plans for sand rail

    1/ Install 2.0 subaru w/ turbo

    2/ install bus trans

3/ 3x3 rear arms and coil overs in rear

4/ fab radiator brackets and install radiator

5/ Build new console and dash fiberglass

6/ Build new subwoofer box in rear fiberglass

    7/Drink lots of beer

  5. You just made my point for me....you said "it's a road to an OFF ROAD area"...i totally agree with you there, so what is the point in doing anything to the road if its an "OFF ROAD" road???? thats not rocket science is it??? :beercheers: and dust is no excuse because IT IS A DESERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what do people expect from a desert?

There was an article in Pahrumps newspaper just recently concerning Dumont dunes and the

groups and local towns like Tecopa and Pahrump and even Amargosa trying to shut the

dunes down due to waste dumped on roads, trash overflowing dumpsters in neighboring towns

and eccesive dust and it was mentioned that groups like FODD were trying to help by doing a

dune clean up and dust control.Anything these tree huggers can use to shut the dunes down

dust, bugs, plants they will try anything. We are lucky to have people like Vicki and Terry

trying to stand up for our rights as off road users. The road will never be smooth but if we

can show the tree huggers we are trying to work on a fix to their concerns it holds them off

from shutting down Dumont like they did to part of Glamis and Pismo. By the way thank you

Terry and Vicki for all you do with TRT and all the abuse you take on here for trying to help

    us all. :no_no:

  6. I will be buying a seaon pass including holiday weekends its a very small investment for the

amount of enjoyment we get from it. Just think about it for a minute I have paid up to 30.00 per night to stay in a campground in the mountains with no hook ups so your looking 90.00 for a 3 day weekend

120.00 for a whole season thats a great deal if we don't all kick in and support Dumont and stop

bitching about 120.00 bucks I spend more than that taking the family bowling for a night. If you

can't afford that to do something you love stay home more room in the dunes for me.

    :laughoff: :smoker:

  7. My personal view on buying a quad or toyhauler or anything look down the line as your

riding area or abilities change you may want more power or features than you do today

I always go as big as I can first time out if the 700 grizzley is not to much bigger I think

you would be much happier with a little to much power that you don't have to use.At

Dumont with the bigger hills you will want more power. Have you sat on a kawi kfx 700

lots of power don't have to shift and not as big as 4wd quads and climb well in dirt trails.

theres alot of people on here with all kinds of different quads find out what you want to

try and I'm sure we can find somebody that will let you ride one before you buy one.
