  2. So I'm lifting my '98 Silverado Xcab C1500

    And can't decide wether to go 4" w/ 33"s or 7.5" w/35"s

The cost isn't really a concern but, function is very much. BECAUSE it's my primary daily driver...

    Pro's:

If I go 4" spindles;(may also install 1.5" front spring spacer) then it'll still be sporty during spirit'd driving; brakes won't have to work has hard; slightly better mpg(HAHAHA); easier to load the bed, esp my quad.

    If I go 7.5" cross-member; IT LOOKS BAD a$$ and I can go w/ 35s on 20"wheels later

    Con's:

4" it doesn't look as cool

7'5" just more impractcal, some people will have a very hard time getting into it.

    What are your guy's opinions?

  3. Hey Chris, just incase you do not have your water turned on i will bring my toy hauler so that if you need to take a 2 piece it will be there. :mc_smiley: :shocked2:

Just kidding, If iam in town i will help out (i will let you know)

Can I leave it instead of taking it? I don't wanna keep it :headbang:

I will be calling you about an alarm install though! Thanks bro.

  4. Congrats on the new home. I'm a insurance agent in Vegas and I insure many homes if you need homeowners insurance please let me know. I really havent introduced myself I usually just read posts, but I'm David Larsons' cousin (I believe he camps with you guys) I've been going out to Dumont for many years. If you need your home insured please let me know, I'm just one beer drinkin sand dune addict trying to help another one!

Ya Dave was my Cornhole guy before becoming MR bigshot. And he's know these other guys for a long time.

Has for ins I'm using American National so far they're the cheapest i've found. But a qoute never hurts!

  5. This is true... Is it only Head Gaskets?? cant be that hard to do can it??

WRONG! Headgaskets on those aren't what they seem. The #1 problem is the aluminum block, when you take the head bolts out the threads come out with them because GM in their wisdom didn't sleeve the holes just tapped the block instead. Consequencely, ALL the holes must be drilled/reemed, retapped and "timeserts" installed basically they're like a solid heli-coil. The TIMESERT kit cost me just under $400 if i'm remembering right.

I've done 2 northstars at my shop, GOOD TIMES :ninja:

On the good side, I'm sure it's already been done since his motor has been rebuilt twice

  6. :thumb: So I finally bought a house of my very own. Closing on the Jan 27th, and moving in Jan 28th!!!! Then take everyone who helped out for lunch and BEER. Or maybe BBQ at the house?

If interested in helping, PM me. If not :thumb: no worries. I completely understand about not helping people move... not what I call fun.
