I was wondering the same thing about that close call...  How the heck did she not see you :dayum:

    Great Video

boyfriend claims it was her first dune ride ever... not the best place to learn how to ride on a busy holiday weekend. :)

Awesome video. That truck scoots around the dunes really well.

That looked like a close call at 4:52. Did he hit you?

I fixed the embedding. The forum is much smarter now. All you have to do is paste the video link (without any /watch or embed extensions in the url) and the forum software does the rest.

Hmm that's why I did. I just pasted the url... ahh well. Yes at 4:53 that girl bounced off my wheel. She was ok, the bike needed some attention though. That's Dumont on a holiday weekend. It's like a crash up derby. :) Thanks!

  3. Very nice trip stayed until monday. I was at comp on Friday night but Saturday the doggies were not feeling it so I skipped the Trunk or Treat. I liked the crowd reminded me of the the big boom Dumont had around the 2005/2010s. Truck did good, still needs way more horsepower.

  4. WOW! That was sure the good old days Alien. Don't know if you remember or not but that is my son Casey piloting The Beast for you that day. He also piloted BigRay800's DS800 in it's class too. Them Sasselli boys were unstoppable in their classes, but the times had by all were good and the turnout was much better than they have generated recently. Everybody moving on to the SXS market it seems.

Brought back some good memories for sure.

That one wheel launch at the end is just insane. Lots of power The Beast laid to the ground!

Ha Casey did a great job that day, my bike launches so weird compared to others. It was making good power that day but a little too much timing caused it to nearly split the engine in half... lol.

There were very good times but I am trying hard to NOT get back into it. Racing is a money pit! :)

  5. Haha! I just saw your YouTube video about 3 days ago! Nice set up, not bad for 2wd!

Hey didn't I just see ur video on YouTube? Just a few days ago.....not bad for 2wd! Nice camp spot, the soft sand is the best eh??

Thanks! Yea I always wanted to camp over by comp, I love the sound of the races. I need to get a tent that is less likely to fill with sand though. That wind was making the sand come through the vents like I had no tent at all.

  6. Ha I figured you might know someone in the video. You've been going there since comp hill was just a whoop. :)

Yea Glamis still has crowds like that but even they don't seem to put so much effort into hill racing like 10 years ago. They save it all for the flat drags down by Gecko rd.

Here are some pictures of Presidents Day weekend of that same year. 2005. Maybe that video is Thanksgiving.

  7. I uploaded this since it's 10 years ago. I believe it's during Presidents Day weekend but I can't be sure. (EDIT well I found some pictures of Presidents day 2005 and it was raining so this is some other holiday)

You'll notice, no side-by-sides but a ton of ATVs. Also a tricked out Golf Cart, the precursor of sxs.

  8. I slept in my truck Friday night, but about 9 pm the wind mostly stopped, got warm today if you weren't in the shade.

Yea I was hoping it would stop by friday night but couldn't be sure. I need to really stretch out to really sleep and my truck is small or I would have tried it. I can always try again at thanksgiving.

  9. I tried to tough it out. The wind storm drove me away. I was going to stay from wed to sat but the wind was so bad I couldn't walk my little dogs, their eyes were getting all sandy, and then my tent was filling with sand. The wind was blowing it under and over the vents on the sides. I was laying in my tent thursday night feeling the sand sprinkle down on my face and decided we had enough.

Guess I should have had a trailer. :(
