  1. the subie doesn't cost that much more...if you take in to consideration to whats involved with a turnkey motor. Redline and Turnkey motors go for about 10k?, my subie motor complete with clutch retails for 12k. my tune is also set up to adjust itself for barometric pressure. It comes down to what you want and what you are willing to spend. :D

    My Turnkey 450hp LS1 , 11k on pump gas :yeah_whatever: , My buddy's Outback 450hp Suby, 16k on race gas.

  2. Well look at Randogs car. Its a stock Honda motor with a turbo and it SMOKES Anything LS1,2,6,7 in its Path. I cant imagine a stock honda 3.5 with a turbo on it costing much at all. Its gonna set you back some big bucks on an LS1,2,6,7 thats gonna hang with his car.

I agree with you on the Honda motors especially randogs car, but like I said the suby's gonna cost alot more

  3. For the money you can't beat the LS motors. Yea, a same horsepower rated suby will pull on a same horsepower rated LS motor (from expierience and not by much) but It'll cost you a hell of alot more to do it. As far as the by-passes, Big jumps and whoops..... a must, for the dunes..... not really a nessicity.

  4. They took it out again for turkey day. With stock tires it duned just fine, a little under powered but plenty capable in the dunes ( yes, big dunes). I wouldn't put paddles on, the motors not strong enough to handle them. Just air down to about 6 psi. and you'll be fine.

  5. Hey Joe,

Yeah, Dave at Hotrails and Carl at V-tec Performance both were guessing two years ago.

They both said that back then. So, I've always told peeps 450hp at the flywheel.

But Stu did have his Dyno'd at 480 to the ground. ????? Who knows :thumb:

BTW, Good to see you on DDR. :thumb: :argue:

Hey DDR,,,,,,,Painterjoe is WAY effin cool peeps. :hello:

Now that I think about it your car runs like it's got way more then 450 . Like you said as long as it performs the way you want it to then who cares about #'s :D .

Hey, thanks for the kind words. :shake:

  6. Oh, Right on Kenny, :thumb:

Dude I tell people about you holding out that beer.

That was cool, you were like 'this is all I got to give you'. :thumb:

That was fun shiat that day.

I'm not headed out for T-day. :argue:

Got to replace the CVs and Heims again BEFORE I go again.

    Avoidin' the crouds this time.

Hope you guys have a safe trip and the Subi runs good. :shake:

    We'll chill soon bud, :hello:

    R-

Whatcha mean you ain't goin for T-Day?Who am I suppose to dune with? :laughoff:

  7. My car was ESTIMATED at 450hp two years ago.

My buddy Stu has a Honda 3.5 V-tec Turbo just like mine.

He's running at 7-8lbs of boost.

Yesturday he just had his car on a dyno. It was putting 480hp to the rear wheels.

    I was like :shocked2:

Any HP guru's out there????? :dunno:

    I'm running at 10lbs boost.

How much HP do you think the 2-3 x-tra lbs of boost is adding on my car? :dunno:

How much HP is Stu getting out of the motor at the flywheel? :dunno:

    :driver:

    Hey Randy what's up,

480 to the wheels would be close to 600 at the crank. Maybe Stu was getting flywheel #'s and not to the ground, that just seems like alot for a stock motor.

  8. I have to be honest, I cant take it anymore.......The SU cars are definetely going to be fast, and dune great!!!! BUT, I have seen several of their cars broke at dumont, one was their demo car with a broken spindle....I think they will work quite well and they probably have the suspension dialed, the plroblem with that is you get comfortable with the car and it works so well you go through the woops to hard and hit jumps to hard for how light duty the car is built.. For example if you look at how the rear shock mounts to the cage, with no bracing, and 2 tabs holding the shock their, not only the shock but all the weight of the car and passengers are on that one point where the shocks mount. The other thing that scares me is how all the arms are attached to the chasis. There is no outside bracing on the bolts, there is alot of leverage on those bolts, in my opinion. The reason I bring this up is because I know how kenny drives and he says he is just going to cruise but in reality the car will definetely get driven..... The desert dynamics car will definetly be slower, not even a question, But in my opinion is built alot stronger....Im no engineer, so this is just my opinion........ Painterjoe, are you saying the dd car looks better?

I totally agree with what you are saying. The DD car is a beefier car but like you said a slower duning car. If you want a cars that hauls butt through the whoops and can handle big jumps then the DD car would be the better of the two, If you wanted a car that dunes awsome then the SU would be the better. I found out the hard way, I have an Extreme Performance Eco 1( not designed for big jumps and whoops and I was told this buy the builder) and I broke both front lower arms jumping it (big). When I bought the car I wanted a duner, thats why I chose it but my adrenilin got the best of me and it co$t me. In my opinion there isn't a car out there that's somewhat affordable that can give you the best of both worlds, so thats one of the choices to be made. The way I took it was the decision was some way influenced by the color, not saying I like the looks of the DD better. Just my .02 cents. :D

  9. You can't go wrong with the SU, Very lite awsome duning car. Go for a ride and if possible drive both, that will help in your decision. I wouldn't base it on looks and besides with some sweet graphics the white car will look awsome. Also the DD car won't fit in a toyhauler with paddles on it.

  10. Some friends of ours just got one and they love it. They actually made it up the west face of the big dune :eatdrink021: at Dumont(experienced driver) . They haven't tried to dune with it yet but I'm sure it's plenty capable.

  11. ummmm errrr 370 is a stroked motor hence the name long rod .... but DAM I LIKE YOUR BIKE !!

poor ron hes done and doesnt even realise it predator stew for you bud!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment, it's also for sale. Actually it's not stroked. Thats why they use the Blaster pistons because the wris pin depth is higher then a banshee piston. Having the longer rod creates less dead time for the rod to come around so the motor rotates faster, it does not change the stroke of the crank.
