  1. Looking for some info, 1st hand dune experience on this quad...A friend of ours just got this bike and we are trying to figure out how to make it more 'dunable'.

    It's stock except skat trak paddles, definately have to replace the 18" dirt tires on the front... then of course the standard mods...

    Anyone know of any forums for the Polaris Outlaw? The Polaris specific ones I've checked so far don't have much info about the Outlaw 450.

    You wont find any real dedicated forums on the outlaw. As far as mods in this order.

    1. Tires

    2. Drop a tooth up front

    3. JD jet kit. They have a custom taper needle that rips on KTM FCR carbs.

    4. Rath racing intake

    5. FMF 4.1 slip on or the whole FMF 4.1 with mega bomb head pipe.(if money is no issue.)

    These mod's will put that motor in the 53-55 hp range and it will RIP!

  2. They are insane. I got popped 66 in a 55 (I was towing) on Cajon pass in June. The fee went up $40.00 by the time I paid it, it was up to $360.00. When it was all said and done with the fee amount, traffic school and online I.D. Verification it was $500.00 bucks......come to find out after the fact it was a one point violation!!! Ooof :headbang1:

  3. sounds like its limping...you can limp the tranny if you are running a programmer that puts more torque to the alli than it can handle

    are you running a programmer?

    it could also be a harness inside, as that happened to mine back when i bought it...

    if you change the fluid, go with transynd, 30-40 dollars a gallon, but if running full synthetic (3 changes with transynd) then you are fully synthetic, and can go 150K until you need to change your fluid
