    Ok here goes....I am starting a race team for this up comming season with a buddy of mine (machanic)..we have a sponcer who bought us a 2008 truck with a cap on the back so we can sleep in it for away races. We need 2-3 bikes...we have a budget of $2000 per bike right now (they all need to be the same bike we dont care what 450 it is though) We have decided they must be 450s no 400s as the 450s offer more race events and we plan to take our team pro as soon as we can get up and running)...we also need a trailer we would like to spend $250 on the trailer and $2000 per bike....for this season only...next season we will be buying brand new bikes..we need a season to show our sponcer and hopefully pick up other sponcers and other racers. (we have our own track we have been practicing on for a few seasons as we prepare..)..I sold my modified raptor 700 last season as it is a great trail quad but not good for racing..we plan on running in ...xc racing..supermoto, mx etc. the goal hit as many events as we can and aquire a bike per event we have the space to house many many bikes

    and plan this for a career move. LIke I said we hope to aquire spncers and a few other racers.

    we need help..we have a sponcer but we dont know were the races are..how do we sign up..we have the enterance fee money too .....please help us...we dont mind travelling to races...we have day jobs but we really really want to race and are willing to invest everything...we still need gear as well. (the gear and so on our sponcer will help provide but not quads...)...if you want to help get us going and be our sponcer to help with part of the quads we would greatly appreciate it. if you would like to join our team early on contact me via craigs list and ill give you my contact info only serious racers need apply, we may be a new team though we will extablish very fast as we have a lot of skill. ...we have a sponcer who will pay for half of all add ons like suspension, and this can be applied to all team quads. so these quads can be bone stock...thank you. Team members will use team quads. (for new all members must have there own quads..though by next season we plan on having team quads people use so our mechanic can stay on tip top shape of our quads and you can retire your current season reace quad for rec use only. It will be a benifit for being on my team, also it will keep engine settings and race specs secret as we intend. *not to mention it will keep all racers with new and appropriate working gear at all times.

    thank you for reading my add and any and all info would be greatly appreciated. any sponcers are welcomed, any racers need apply a resume (for this season only racers will be awarded any and all benfits we share such as 50% discounts at our current online part vendors as we need to still aquire race quads ourselves so again you must have a race quad this season though we have a team mechanic already) or if you info on doing what we are trying to do we are open to suggestion as we are still just staring out..though we do have an outline and assets of how we want this to go. In major thanks to our machanic my partner able too work for free on all team quads this entire season , in part thanks to our online parts vendor for selling us parts wholesale, in part thanks to our sponcer for giving up a truck free and clear, now we just a trailer, quads, and a few other racers....as well as a venue to join to take our first official races..the bigger the venue the better our current goal is to gain sponcers and take our team pro with actual funding and allowances for new quads.   2. Started looking for what wheels I wanted to run and of course the wheel I find is discontinued. Just my odds.

    I found a set of front wheels exactly like I wanted for a SMOKING deal. Front black C series ITP wheels with Sand stars for $100.... YEP BRAND NEW $100. THese retailed for $300

    SO before I bought them I HAD to find a set of matching rears. Being I was told they were discontinued I had to found them on someones shelf, which I did!!! :DDRrocks: Ordered them up and went over and grabbed my new fronts..... They are a little dusty in the pics but they cleaned up VERY NICE

    Rear wheels should be here next Monday

    J/K man, I would love to have the extra bucks to find a blown up bike to turn it into a cool little hillclimber and racer.

    I worked at bicycle shop for 5 years, I can tell you some stories of people and thier complete lack of mechanical abilities.

    That is what the fridge is for... LOL!!!!

    Funny, I too worked at bicycle shops growing up as well. The hack welding jobs, the tires stuffed with tennis balls so they do not need tubes, it never ends.

  4. I decided to do a semi build up of this 05 TRX450 I picked up a few days ago.

    I was able to pick this ATV up for $1600. THe motor was blown an in a million pieces. I looked everything over and the tranny was fine but the crank, and top end would have to be replaced. The cylinder was even fine just needed a hone.

    I talked with a buddy who builds CRF450s for a race team who also happens to be good friends with a couple people at Dasa. SO his knowledge on what I should do was good to have.

    THe quad had an Ishock front end with A arms which is not something I would purchase to put on it if I was going to do a front end but I will be leaving it for the simple fact that it is on there. It also came with an FMF Full Factory 4 Ti exhaust with Power bomb header. I am selling this as I will be replacing the exhaust. It also had some nerf bars, swingarm skid and Pro Taper bars.

    I am sure there are things I am not doing the way some of you would and am always open for ideas, opinions, and things that you would not do. Im open to everything.

    The first misison in order was to get the motor back up and running. This ATV will see the dunes during dune season and make some runs out to the desert quite often as well. I want to build a little more power out of this quad but not over do it. The crank is being replaced with an OEM crank and all bearings and seals in the motor will be replaced as well. THe Piston is I beileve a 12.8:1 or 12.9 I cannot remember which. The Cam will be a Web Cam I believe is what they will be putting in it as well as valves and valve springs made of TI. The Carb is junk I was told and I have an 09 CRF carb being bored out by Dasa and will be backed by a Dasa intake. The Head will have a mild port job being finished off with a Dasa full exhaust.

    While the motor was already out I decided I will be powdercoating the frame black. I am going to leave the swingarm silver and when I do bumpers and new nerfs they will be black as well. I am going to powder coat the hubs a flame red and run black wheels with white plastic and do custom graphics for my buddies race team. I was originally going to leave the factory headlight but I want to ditch the handlebar controls so I will throw that away and run some billet lights.

    Correct me if I am wrong but getting rid of my factory headlight on my 05 will allow me to run newer white factory plastics.

    Today I decided to strip the quad down to drop the frame off at the powder coaters tomorrow morning. I am glad I did this because I found all the interesting idiotic stuff that the previous owner did not do. Considering the motor had problems due to oil issues I am not surprised of what I found.

    While disassembling the quad I found many things not oiled, tightened properly, lock tighted for no reason and well just plain idiotic crap.

    The front bushings on the Ishock A-arms were not greased so they were rusted. DO not ask me how in this weather we have out here. We dont get water. LOL. The front bumper was locktighted with RED lock tight. once again, why? The shock bolts were not tightened all the way and were lock tighted a few turns shy of bottoming out so the bold actually had back and forth play in it. One of the brake ferrels was cross threaded when put on causing this to need to be replaced.

    Thank god i have direct deposit but i just feel a lil violated right now! The manager here said we should have him arrested i opted for a good ol tweaker asswhoopin.. :censored::flipoff: he told me that wouldnt be a good idea... cuz apparently this kid is some wanna be gang banger and is known to illegally carry a concealed weapon while not at work. both him and his lil hood rat crew..

  6. Work changed from Verizon to AT&T a while back. Best thing that ever happened :D I don't have coverage anywhere compared to Verizon. Some voicemails take longer than the postal service. The best thing is AT&T has very limited coverage at Dumont compared to Verizon. In fact I can see Las Vegas on the way home and still not be able to make a cell call.

    My personal wireless card (Verizon) has also coverage in a lot of places including Dumont where I can't make an AT&T cell call.

    I had an Iphone and ATT. I paid the disconnect fee and threw my Iphone in the garbage. The phone sucked, the service sucked, I switched to Verizon and LOVE IT!!!! :banghead:

  7. see some of the funniest parts of what led up to this were left out.... well the eating and drinking did not help. But for two hours we were stuck behinbd a Toyota Highlander who was DWA Driving While Asian.. :ah: :blonde:

    In her defense cars were stuck EVERYWHERE on the road past stateline with no where to get out of the way as the construction had cement barriers on both sides of the road. THe ground was frozen and once stopped you oculd not get going again.

    So being the great snow driver I am not I am slowly getting around all these drivers who unlike me..... WERE Crapping their pants trying to drive in the mess :banghead:

    I finally get to the last car at the front of the line after an hour and a half of doing under 5mph, we get to the woman asian driver. We hear this outrageous loud noise and a motor bouncing off the rev limiter. Her front wheel drive car had the front end sliding instead of driving from side to side through the frozen road. :driver:

    We finally get to where we could see the wheels and this asian had the gas pedal to the floor!!! :idiot: So what do we do but take :pics: and film this funny crap. SHe had a death grip on the steering wheel and pedal to the floor and did not realize that letting off the gas would of allowed her to drive in more control and faster then she was....... :driver:

    SO we finally get around her and the rest area is closed and the store at the next exit is closed. I decide it is now or never... or at least now or in the truck. :booty::censored:

    I get out to do my duty and get in the "not crapping on your dropped drawers" position and well the ground was frozen... out from under me come my feet and I almost hit the deck. By this time Cole is laughing so hard i think he pissed his pants. THe entire time I am trying to gain composure and make sure I did not dribble... YES dribble onto my drawers. :dope:

    SO I pop the hatch and go for the 2nd try. I squat and just get half way through my duty of :poop: which To be honest which is evident by the pictures had the consistency of well.... chocolate pudding.

    Then all of a sudden I hear a WHOOSH :censored: and it was not coming out of my a$$ but the truck. THe Jack :booty: reached over and pressed the accelerator to the floor. He had noticeds I was squating behind the tailpipe and my bare sexy thigh was less then 2" from the exhaust. Hotter then a Mother :censored:

    Up I jumped like Santa dropping into a hot fireplace and :flipoff: mother :porn: :finger: that douche bag in the truck.

    Mind you it is snowing, frozen and cold and there is NO ONE around.... or so we thought.... I turn around and coming out of the hills is a guy driving a jeep less then 10 feet from where I am doing my :poop: So what can you do but wave...... :hello: SO I did... he had this weird why are you waving at me look on his face.

    So that is what led up to this incident. Now get Cole to post the DWA vids and we will be set.. LOL

    This is funny CRap. When Cole took his off I warned him and Let me tell you. I have to go get pics of the armored on lock down pull starter assembly. I believe he went overboard but I told him when it goes........it goes....

    Well Then you called and said you see I was screwing with it and the neighbor was going to help. I about crapped my pants, (I stopped as I knew Cole had a camera somewhere) :shake: Anyways and continued to LAUGH my a$$ off at the site of the 5 pieces and spring flying EVERYWHERE.... :dunno:

  9. Thats a spendy rebuild.

    Nah, I wont rebuild it to stock. I will be doing a JE piston, Dasa bored CRF carb, HRC cam, Dasa exhaust, Factory Crank cause the Wiseco cranks are junk, OEM TI valves, Dasa intake and some other stuff.

    A bone stock used motor will run you 1500. This will cost me about 1700 to rebuild it the way I WANT to...

  10. Been looking for a YFZ450 to build up and have found some good deals and some people who must be financed up to their a$$ not so good deals... LOL

    I found a 2005 TRX450R. It had Ishock Aarms and FMF Factory 4 Complete exhaust, Pro Taper bars......AND a blown motor. THe motor was in a million pieces.

    I looked over the motor and made a parts list of what would be needed yesterday and calle dthe kid back to come look at it again.

    THey wanted $2000 for the quad as she sat. I offered 1500 knowing I would pay no more then 1700 for it. Loaded it up and off I was for $1600.

    Most the parts will be upgraded parts in the motor as well as the exhaust will be changed out from the FMF Factory 4 to a Dasa. It will be getting a bored out CRF carb, 12:1 piston, new crank and all rebuilt. Should have most the parts here tomorrow to start reassembling the motor.

    The graphics are ugly as well as the black plastic. Ill probably go with white plastic.

  12. Has anyone here ridden on both the holeshot tires and the stock tires IN THE SAND and noticed a difference? The holeshots seems lower profile with less flotation to them. My big fat a$$ with a bad back needs as soft as possible with as much flotation as possible.

    I personally honestly cannot think there would be that big of a difference on the ride in the sand. They have about a 1/2" lower sidewall on the half, but i dont think that would effect much if anything. Especially in sand.
