  1. Yea, Dunefreak I hear ya. Still trying to work this out the right way by assuming each other's loans properly. Guess we'll see what happens. Either way, the dune season is coming and if I have my toy hauler great, if not I still have a 26ft enclosed triple that does quite nicely. The Funco is READY and WAITING!!!!! Couple more months!
  2. Just about everyone is upside down with the current economy.... just two years ago, my toy hauler was still worth something. Now, you can't get rid of them. Prices have fallen on them left and right. Put's me out when considering a sale. So yes, I'm upside down. This seems to be a very good deal for both, but I completely understand all the reservations and potential problems. Guess we'll have to do more checking. I'm going to check with my bank and see what my options are from their view. Thanks guys.
  3. It's a little more refined than I might have explained. Contracts involved about insurance, financing, default etc. etc. He's not a friend. Just a couple of guys who hooked up through a dealership. He was looking for something, I was looking for something and here we are. Problem with assuming a loan is that neither can take on an additional loan. In order for it to happen, one would have to get rid of one first and then acquire the other. Not sure how that would work, but that said, maybe the financial institutions have a way. I'll call B of A tomorrow and see what's doing. It would be great if it could work out, but one never knows what's on the other end when/if it goes bad. You're right to be wary.... Just a pretty good deal on both sides, I just wish there was a way to do it cleanly without the huge leap of faith.
  4. Hey guys, just hoping that someone can share from their experiences. I have a toy hauler that is not being used very much anymore. I ran across a guy that has two boat and one of his isn't being used anymore. Both of us still owe on our respective recreational toys but were contemplating switching and paying on each other's loans. I'd like to know if anyone has heard of anything like this. If so, or even if you've heard of something remotely similar what are your thoughts. We've already found contracts that take into consideration things like: Insurance Maintenance Payment Default Length of contracts up-keep Just wondering if anybody has ever had any experience with this sort of stuff. Thanks guys
  5. I was just going to chime in and say something stupid like "400+ to the rears?????" Heck my little car has 328 to the rears and I way 1980 wet. I'd take that race... but if it is 800 to the REARS... then... well I'll be holding the camera. that car is pretty sick looking. Love the look of it. I bet its smooth as silk at low speeds.
  6. That fits my 10yr olds' budget! My first car was a beam car. Great car, but the new stuff is so much better.
  7. I like the little throw-up guy when talking about Funco. As a funco owner, I have to say that the graphic is a pretty true account. Just about everyone who rides in my car gets sick. Seems that the quick turning, extreme acceleration, and the way in which the plants itself on the side of a dune get's people feeling that way - SICK. As far as the length goes, yea... a full size car with 4 seats under 12 feet will be very tough to find. My Big 5 is about 14.6. Good luck... I will say though, every time a see a post with the Sinister car in it, I start to slobber. Some people may not like it, but I think it looks SICK. I looks fast just sitting there. Can't wait to see it done. tired of looking at the same pics. Come on already!!!!
  8. I'm using the same products as both of you. BellRay in the cups and Swepco in the CVs. I figured once a season on the average. thanks!
  9. Just checking to see how often you guys are REALLY servicing your CVs. How often do YOU service them? How often are you SUPPOSED to service them? And what are you using? It would also be nice to know if anyone has any tricks or processes that make the chore easier. Thanks!
  10. well then, let's all hope that "things go well". Hope to see ya out.
  11. I won't be out for an over-nighter, but I will be out there Sunday. If you are around, look for a Purple and yellow Big 5. hope to see ya there.
  12. I'll be out at Dumont this weekend and was wondering if any other sand cars would be out???? Just checking.
  13. I think I'm the guy who brought OGP back to the trailer. Yea, I'm just a "lurker" in these parts, but my new-to-me rail has me checking in quite a bit lately. Guess I'm not putting enough HP to the ground. 325 to the rears isn't as b@ll busting as some of your sleds. Sucks about that Bud Light car... Glad my Funco had 5 to hall him back to the trailer though.
