  1. There was a Ranger McDonald out there this weekend that I thought was cool. He gets paid to ride his Raptor in the dunes all weekend. He could have easily gave me a ticket when my flag broke and I didn't have one. COOL. Threatening to give me a ticket for being a wimp. NOT COOL. Seriously, He was cool and I for one would be glad to see him out there. The only people that worry about a Ranger or a cop is someone that is doing something illegal.

Ranger McDonald stopped us at comp on friday (easy targets, we were the only ones there). Four rhinos none of which had proof of registration. All were registered however (since were talkin about payin dues, I dont want to start another 2 pager), two were new and waiting for reg in the mail, two others just didn't put their tags on yet. Anyways, he gave us a warning and hung around for a bit shootin the bull, cool dude.

As for us, we just pay the fifty for the season pass

  2. we'll be there, although I'll still be drivin the farm equipment instead of my quad ( still recovering from the broken hip thing :( ) I have the general idea of where it is, though comp hill valley then turn right toward a rocky pile in the distance?? is that about it?? I'm guessing there wont be too many other groups gathered out there that weekend

  3. cool pics. i was out at Dumont last year at the begining of the season and just about the same thing happened to me. bunch of rigs pulled in, cam setups and the works. silly me joked around to the crew i was with and said i am gonna take the rail and drive circles around the shoot. needless to say i didnt. come to find out later, it was one of my favorite big bootied babes, Jennifer Lopez was filming something out there. pissed me off that i didnt crash that party. :MBdance:

thanks again for the report. :beercheers:

We were out there that weekend too.I redirected about a hundred people who pulled into the little dunes trying to find the shoot. The tow truck that was carrying the car they were gonna use in the video got stuck in the dunes trying to find the location. While we were pulling him out he told us about the video shoot. It was a J Lo music video. I drove the family over there in our Sami, I was surprised how close they were letting us get. Of coarse we didnt have to get very close before we could tell it was J Lo :whoop:

  4. not nearly enough!!!! you should just sell it and buy my dodge 3500 and fifth wheel :D

now to answer your question.. check your door sticker , just take the GCVWR (gross combined vehicle weight rating) and subtract the unladen weight of your truck

as an example: GCVWR 23000 lbs minus a vehicle weight of 8000 lbs would give you 15000 lbs to work with

as a side note, these ratings are mostly based on the slowing and stopping of all that weight. Since you have larger tires (increased rotational mass) your stopping distances are already increased from stock. Your 80% idea is probably a good one

    hope that helps :eatdrink021:

  5. We (along with our usual group) will be at the little dunes thursday thru sunday, I will try and rally the troops and make it to the south pole at 2 (if I can find it),

Where and when is the potluck and what should we bring??? Is there some kind of sign up??? If Bob is bringin KFC, should I bring some biscuits?? :fart: :fro: :bs:

  6. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with it, but, like barefootbob said, if you get an AK, get one made in the eastern block, AK's are not all created equal. The AK, ammo and parts/accesories are cheaper than the other guns too and as a bonus, you can get steel cored bullets that will go through block walls....you know...in case you want to target shoot through a block wall :redneck:

by the way, can I use your out of california address so I can buy one too??
