  1. it would be kinda impossible to have a 2011 SU being that they went out of biz a few years back. maybe he means it was redone in 2011??? frame looks to be of the earlier 2000's era SU's whatever the case, that is a beautiful car, and that turbo 13b will scream. nice ride...may want to clear up the 2011 thing so as to not be misleading, GLWTS
  2. Ya I saw the fender in the pics too. Its already turned around and trimmed up a bit. I havent ridden any other 125's yet. but this thing moves. While riding on the street, you have to be careful or the front end will come up in a hurry. If I had to make a comparison.... The difference in power going from a stocker to an 88 would be a comparible increase going from an 88 to the 125 (if that makes sense) (I guess you could say it feels twice as powerful/fast as a stock 70)
  3. Thanks mang Hopefully, before the regatta, I can get the second motor installed in the 70 I bought from Coobie earlier this week. we shall see
  4. thanks Bruce, good meetin you today. I aired up the tires when I got home and took a lap around the neighborhood.....that thing is scary fast
  5. bump for a price drop to 7k (it wont be going any lower)
  6. Unfortunately, this type of non-customer service is par for the course at craparral. Ive had similiar experiences there as well. I prefer to use a small local dealer for most stuff now even if they always have to order it. Just ship it back and consider it a lesson learned. You won't get anywhere with them. In my experience....the "don't care" attitude goes all the way to the top Kevin
  7. I think I might have lost something in the translation Are you asking for advice on a good first tow vehicle??
  8. Go with the 6volts fo sho. I have always run four of the Interstate 6v batts in mine. I'm on my second set now, the first four lasted 6 years!!. Whichever ones you get make sure to check the water frequently and fully charge them as soon as you get back from a trip. don't wait until before the next time you go out. If you let them sit for a period of time while they are discharged they won't last very long. oh yeah, they also take a looooong time to charge. there was a web site called "the twelve volt guy" that had tons of info about the differences in batts. also wiring diagrams if you need em If you are just running two of em you'll need a short cable to connect the pos of one to the neg of the other. this essentially makes them one big twelve volt batt. then connect the neg cables from the trailer to the open neg post on one batt and connect the pos trailer cables to the open pos post on the other batt. Good luck, Kevin
  9. I just read this all the way through for the first time. That right there is funny, I don't care who you are, thats funny. A definite "best of"
  10. I meant to submit this for April but I missed the deadline, so here is one of my heli-dune pics from our trip in March. Touch down at the north pole.
  11. thats funny right there, I don't care who you are that there is funny. If those clouds were over the forest when the tree fell would Pete take a picture of the clouds or the tree?? that might be the real question at hand
  12. I think your confusing banjos with the sound of his meth pipes jingling around :flatbiller: tweekers fo sho
  13. I can tell you this much, ask ten people and you'll get ten different answers. ask ten cops and you'll still get ten different answers. before I got the moho I had a dodge dually towing a 38 foot 5er and also flat towed a suzuki samurai behind it for a while, (73 feet) i,m sure it was totally illegal, but I never got stopped to find out. Before I did it, I asked a ton of people including CHP commercial enforcement guys, I also read through the vehicle code, could never find a clear answer. It towed great, once I was on the freeway, forgot the sammy was even back there. If you decide to do it, make sure you plan ahead and make all your stops in BIG parking lots....backing up is a B good luck, Kevin
  14. unless they have changed things....the show in october is usually much better (bigger) than the one in march, I went last year in march, it kinda sucked, some outside stuff and only one building with displays, I was in and out in about an hour. thats my
  15. Thanks all for the kind words. It was a blast flying around the dunes, I wish I had the keys to it all the time, I'd bring it out and give some DDR helicopter rides. Ive had my pilot's license for over three years and this was my wife's first ride in a helicopter, she was nervous as could be before we took off, after that it was all smiles. She probably wouldn't have gone if my friend Chuck wasn't there too (he's a commercial airline and helicopter pilot) I was starting to think she doesn't trust me :bert: To answer a few questions: It took about 2 1/2 hours to get from home to vegas, even with the detour to the dunes jakster884, too funny that you make those bolts, I've actually heard the nickname Jesus bolts before, I check em every time before I take off, I was actually planning to stop off at the dunes on the way home (saturday). We could have got some action pics but I don't think it would have been too safe if I landed with a bunch of people riding around the north pole so this worked out too
  16. first things first: no it's not my helicopter but I did fly it there. Our good friends Chuck and Susan and us have a friend in common that is a very giving person who also happens to be well funded. He lent us his helicopter for a few days so we planned a trip to Vegas and the Grand Canyon. If you where out at Dumont last Thursday, you probably saw us flying around. On our way to Vegas I couldn't resist a quick hop to Dumont. If you are a pilot, you know that D is in the middle of a MOA (military operation area) and it is a little tricky getting out there but it was way worth it. It was a great trip and below are some pics I wanted to share, enjoy Kevin the captain has turned on the seatbelt sign.......bwahahaha..... get in, sit down and........ comp north looking south where did I put my whip?? north poles I couldn't resist...... Christy at the north pole and some of the rest of the trip....hoover dam, grand canyon
  17. 300 gallons?? wow!! nice trailer, good luck with the sale. was it painted to match a specific moho? and if so which one?
  18. sure looks like it was real hot and way too windy out there to have a good time......... at least thats what I keep telling myself, glad you guys had a good time.
  19. when we were out for new years someone brought a few bags of BBQ charcoal, threw em in the fire, and when they were nice and toasty, put em under our chairs, they last foreverrrrrrr. you only need 2-3 per chair and they dont give off much smoke :whacky101: .
  20. yep, SOBE bottles work great, I guess any screw top bottle would work though, about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of gas in the bottle works well, the idea is that the fuel needs to vaporize before the top blows otherwise you wont get the mushroom BTW, whenever I have done it, I made a small fire a good distance from any camp, didnt like the idea of possible shrapnal(sp?) stuck in the kids, moho, or quads.... and make sure and pick up the inevitable broken glass pieces!!!
  21. Do yourself a favor and just stop in Oregon......Dumont is too dusty and you won't sleep well.... with all the cry babies keepin you up all night..... j/k Dumont is a great place and for the most part, full of good peeps off topic, but, welcome to the site Where in BC are you from?? I was born and raised in the lower mainland (new westminster and north delta to be exact) still have a bunch of family up there, can't wait to get back up there for a visit. I rode/raced motorcycles as a kid and there were very few places to go (legally), we just took the chance and being young and dumb, thought that being chased by the cops just added to the adventure not so much anymore though.
  22. and I think you should make reading it and e-signing it a condition of registering on the site, so we can finally put this battered horse out of it's misery. By the way Pete, I appreciate all the BLM information you pass along to us and I actually do read it
  23. now my feelings are hurt, why are you guys so mean??? I don't even know where camp butthurt is?? :beer_bang:
