I had alot of fun with the new camera this weekend. Sunday I went out on the quad with it in my camera backpack to all the hot spots and took some sweet pics. I was gone for about 2 hours. Everyone in camp thought I was still sleeping. It was great chattin with Lee (RuN2it ) :hungry: He gave me some great pointers for the new camera. He also saved my a$$ and helped me get my buggy tire to hold air. Damn sand must have got in the bead from those runs. Not sure where the hell I would have gotten sand from, but oh well. lol

id have to say that ive never done any jumps that big till this weekend

alot of people hittin huge gaps and tabletops makin it look easy

then i got my 12 y/o cousin and my bro who just started ridin a bike 4 trips ago...both either just as good or better than me im like dayumn did they grow some nuts over night?

rode non stop sunday with 3 15 minutes breaks in between so im sore

Lots of businesses will no longer give out refunds on tire chains anymore. Guess to many people did what you are thinking about! Doesn't seem right not to give refunds.

once we got up to soledad

2 feet of snow on the side of the roads

snow all through pearblossom and palmdale :ah:

needed chains to get up to mtn high

didnt put em on pulled over to the side of the rode and got stuck :gayboy:

came back down with no chains

now i can return em

changed the sprocket and chain

need new bearings tho

bought the bearings from rocky mtn but theyre too small

i have an excel pro series hub on a 2003 crf 450r

i talked to excel and they said it was a different size bearing that i could get from parts unlimited but parts unlimited sells only to local retailers and none of my local retailers carry it :gayboy:

so i been lookin online but cant find anything

t5hey said the part number at parts unlimited was 6005

couldnt find it

any help would be appreciated

yeah ill admit they make a few upgrades to the truck for the baja....its gotta have enough power and they probably lighten it up a bit

hopefully chevy follows this example

this is my evaluation from just the pics posted on this thread

that thing jumps any higher than a couple feet off the ground, that front end is gonna get taco'd, unless they moved the motor to mid chassis.

prolly ridin around in the flats and mid range whoops is all it would be good for off-road

did 1,000 miles off road out in nevada over woops and little jumps

thats where theyre smart...workin out all the kinks

but its a truck dude...its not like a trophy truck with the 3 feet of travel so any air on a stock truck is amazing

one of my buddys has got a ranger with all the suspension on it..he went over a speed bump and the hime joint broke on it. so with the stock suspension being wut it is it shouldnt have many problems for the moderate offroader....theyre even talkin bout racin these in the baja 1000

ford kicked it up a notch on this one

hopefully chevy will follow but one of their main truck factories in michigan shut down a few months back

6 months ago i heard about this project ford was doing with a new truck called the ford raptor

ive read up on all of it and i'm tellin ya they would make a killing if they came out with more trucks like this

wut sets this truck apart from any other is the fact that it is set up for the baja but its also good for street

heard the upped the motor,put a brand new design into motion, and dont forget the suspension was done by fox

around 3-4 months ago when gas prices hit their peak ford stopped their production on this because no one wants a truck with lower than 20 mpgs...but i just read in truck trend they have it all ready to come out real soon

this thing is a beast

and theyre talkin about racin it in the baja

is that kit with the chain? cuz i know you can get cheaper sprockets than that.. i think i only spent like 20 bucks on my rear and 15 or so on my front!!

Seems like the crowds at Comp at night are getting bigger and more boistrous. I used to love to go out and watch the hill and some of the crazziness in the crowd;. Seems like the influx of Newbees to Dumont have brough a whole new eliment of folks whose idea of a night at Comp is to aggitate as many as possible. Maybe it's just me! Hope we are not headed the direction of the closure or real restrictions like Glamis has had.

well this year i didnt notice as many people as last year...last year there were 5-6 rows and they were alot longer and more packed

i did notice that alot of the people out there just came to party

not many people racin up the hill tho

there were 3 quads ridin and i came over a hill without a spotter and almost took one of the girls on the banshee out ....just wanted to say srry if ur on here....so that if u see me next time u dont try and run me down

i did most of the spottin for my cuz but when the time came for him to spot me he kinda ditched me

dude was doin donuts out on the flats round 10 on friday night

we were drivin back from comp when we saw it

thought it was some funky lightshow cuz the lights just alternated round and round

rolled over once onto its wheels then rolled onto its side :dance: :black:

the two inside were ok

as i walked away...i was thinkin...im not so sure i want to go offroadin with my next truck

I took my YZ250 out for a ride and it was definitley more comfortable than the qaud, but those huge ruts were brutal in the turns. Bike started running like crap (I think due to some old gas it had in it :black: ) so I brought it back to camp. You're right though- it makes you a better rider. Sometimes the more challenging rides are pretty fun.

As for sprockets...I run the cheap steel Tusk or Rocky Mtn brand ones and they work great and last. Might wanna start a different thread about that though so we don't derail the T-day report..
