  1. Sorry to hear that there won't be a potluck. I would love to organize it but I have a hard enough time keeping my crew together. I would help if someone wants to be the main person. If not, I will have the nacho cheese & chili dip warmed up in camp if anyone wants to cruise by for some nachos and say hi.

Camp==Black F150 w/tahoe trailer, silver F350 dually with weekend warrior, F350 Harley truck lifted, trucks have strob lights on them, might be somewhere around Mike156 (if he's lucky lol)

  2. Ok, so I'm new at this but just a suggestion. How about one or two of us hang out by the dumpsters and count bags as they are disposed of? That way we are checked and double checked and can make sure everyone gets their raffle tickets. And DDR gets and acurate count. Sorry for the spelling mistakes it's 4:30am and I can't sleep. :(

  3. No dumpsters. I manage a complex full of college kids and they can't seem to get the trash IN the dumpsters so I can imagine what a mess a bunch of drunk, careless, immature duners would do. Just a thought, how about looking into putting some of those cardboard trashcans around Dumont / comp hill? Maybe that would give some idiots the hint?? Again just my opinion.

  4. Hi all, just wanted to see what was up for turkey day weekend. i have been out of it for about a week. i had carpal tunnel surgery so it's a little hard to type with just my left hand. we will definitely be there. we are leaving either mon nite or tues morning. not sure where we are camping yet. can't wait to see everyone one again.

  5. We ARE doing something about it...like ISBB said....FoDD. They already have a "dune etiquette" guide along with some good info that was given to Western Maintenance at the pay station to pass out. I guarantee you though that none of these jerks that are causing the problems are even reading them. It's unfortunate, but we can't change the way some people are. All we can do is join forces and help FoDD anyway we can. Not only that, but everyone needs to spread the word to fellow duners about respect. Who knows, maybe it will catch on with some of these fools. The more everyone becomes involved with helping Dumont by being PRO-ACTIVE, the longer we can keep Dumont our favorite place to go.

Michelle your first step to helping the situation is join FoDD. Sign up here if you already haven't.

    :driver:

I did join FoDD and like I said, I have never received any paperwork when have entered or left Dumont. Have you? Maybe they aren't doing their jobs????? The only thing I have received is a suggestion card if we are able to donate our time.

  6. Ok, so just a question here. Unfortunately holiday weekends are the only time I can get out to the dunes. What do you think the chances would be if we had a group of DDR reps talk to BLM and see if we could set up some kind of guidelines for the dunes?? Maybe there already are I don't know. As many times as I've been out there I have never been informed of any. I was just raised to respect others. Anyways, if we can get together with BLM and set up some guidelines, we could pass them out as people are entering and exiting Dumont and leave them with the vendors so people can pick them up there. Maybe that way if more people were aware they were being buttheads and that what they are doing is taking a big chance at getting the dunes closed down maybe they would think twice. Personally I would rather try that than have to change my camp site or go on an off weekend without the rest of my friends. I would be more than happy to donate my time, the paper and the copying of flyers to see if we can change this for the better. I had a good weekend and it sucks to come back and hear everyone b*tch about the buttheads. Instead of b*tching lets do something about it. Ok, I'm done, there is my 2 cents worth. :P

  7. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I hate to hear of any family having to go through such a horrific event. I pray every time before we leave that it is a safe trip. I know this is easier said than done but keep your heads held high and know that they loved you and would not want to to be sad. Enjoy the memories of the time that you did have with them. Know that they did pass doing what they loved to do. Please let DDR know whatever we can do to help the family during their time of need. God bless!

  8. I think that was it!! :laughoff: I had some on my chili burger(s) and it turned my chili burger into the best burger that I ever had!

Thank you for the compliment. No big mystery just 2 blocks velveeta cheese with 2 cans chili with beans and 1 can chili with no beans. Melt in crock pot and poof nachos and chili cheese burgers. Add some beer and you have the perfect meal. :D

  9. I just wanted to thank the members of DDR who helped my friends out yesterday. Quinn was out in his buggy and blew the engine. He said he got back to camp and some DDR guys helped him get his buggy back to camp. THEN they even took him and our other friend Mary up to the top of the dunes so they could have a memorial for our friend Jerry who past away right after we got back from Dumont for President's Day this year. He was so impressed by the kindness you showed and how you went out of your way to help a fellow duner. He asked me to post a message and say "Thank you!" You guys are the greatest and I am so very glad that I stumbled across this website while playing on the internet one day. I know my hubby and I have made some friends for life. Again thank you so very much.

    :beercheers:

    R.I.P. Jerry!!

  10. Hello DDR! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that made us feel so welcome in camp. Everyone that we met was so nice. The potluck was full of such good food. Mike the shipwrecks were yummie! I agree with Don though we do need nametags. Maybe DDR shirts or hats with our names/screen names?? I hope to meet more of you over Thanksgiving. I am sooo sorry to hear about the sandrail accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends. Thanks again! You guys are great. DDR Rocks!!

    P.S.

Pete, thanks helping get us settled in camp. Driving in circles was kindof embarrassing. :P
