  1. LOST on Thanksgiving Day afternoon!!! Two 14" Method Wheels for a brand new razor in the area around Comp Hill and Banshee Hill. If found please call 562-833-1279 or message me. Thanks!!
  2. We were there & it was completely insane. They closed the beach at 13,000 day passes plus the 1,000 camping passes were sold out. People were everywhere and the beach was worse then the 405 freeway. Three lanes wide of people trying to go up & down the beach. They weren't going to let my hubby back on the beach and he had a pass that was paid till the following Tuesday. Like most things practice makes perfect. They learned a lot of lessons this year so next year will be better. I think the crowd was just 100 times bigger then they could have ever imagined so I can see why it was a bit outta control. Was way cool to people and vehicle watch though. Would definitely do it again.
  3. We're camped in front of pole 5 if anyone needs a spot we've got plenty of room.
  4. We will be there from the 18th - 27th. Always plenty of room to camp by or with us. First time at Huckfest and totally looking forward to it.
  5. If anyone in the San Diego area has a generator they are willing to loan out the San Diego Bulldog Rescue is in dyer need of one. Their power is out & these dogs are about to overheat especially the sick ones. They can be reached on Facebook. Bullies do not do well at allin anything over 80 degress.
  6. Especially knowing that there are websites like this that people can spread the word about crappy customer service & products. The duning community is way too small to let anything slide by unnoticed.
  7. DO NOT PURCHASE AN RV FROM FAMILY RV!!! We purchased a Eclipse Stellar Toyhauler from Family RV in Irvine,CA in November 2011. The two salesmen we dealt with were really good, but from there it went down the drain. Dealing with Rich in Finance & Jerry in the Service Dept was the worst experience ever. Blamed all the problems we had on our truck & our 5th wheel hitch (which we purchased elsewhere alot cheaper) not on the trailer itself. As it turned out all the problems were caused by a faulty pinbox on the trailer, in which the manufacturer fixed immediately upon us contacting them. Family RV didn't even care that we had spent over $600.00 on fuel, missed a lot of work, etc just to get all of this taken care of. They could have had all of this taken care of the same day if they would have put a little extra effort into it. As for finance he "forgot about our deal" for the two days he was off, so it took us over a week to get financed. In their eyes got the sale so end of story...THEY JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THIER CUSTOMERS!!!! We will never buy a toyhauler from them, take our toyhauler to them for service OR recommend them to anyone. Now-a-days with the ecomony the way it is trailers, toyhaulers & motorhomes are a luxury item & not too many people are in the market for luxury items. They should be bending over backwards to please their customers to keep themselves in business. Eclipse RV (the manufacturer) ROCKS!! Family RV SUCKS!!!
  8. Just got the vacation days okayed from the boss today so we'll be there. Let me know what I can help out with. Had a great time at the registration booth a couple years back.
  9. Can't wait to see all the DDR peeps, it's been waaay too long.
  10. Awesome pictures Pete. I was bummed a few years ago when they were in bloom like crazy and we left the camera at home. The news said it was " a very rare event" to have flowers blooming like that out there.
  11. That's pretty cool. I like it. Now you can say you have the one and only....
  12. I am so bummed that we were not able to go. I really miss working the registration booth. I had so much fun last year meeting everyone. Definitely something I will never forget. Well maybe next year. Hubby's health is more important. Hope the little one is feeling better.
  13. She was coming onto the 57 fwy southbound on the Grand Ave onramp (where the 57 fwy & 60 fwys come together in Diamond Bar) and lost control in the rain. She started spinning almost at the end of the onramp. She then hit the right front tire area of the truck, he started to lose it, recovered it, then she bounced / spun across the freeway, hit the center divider, that spun her around and back into him on the driver's side front tire area. That just completely turned him to the right and straight into the wall. When he hit the wall the truck bounced and that is what lifted the trailer up and onto it's side and then it slid into the wall. I don't know if you have ever been on that onramp, but it is a long circle and you can get going pretty fast. When you go under the overpass you can see all the scratches and chunks missing from the concrete wall where they hit.
  14. It is between $3.97 & $3.99 throughout Brea, La Habra & Fullerton, CA as of this morning. Sucks big time!!
  15. Even as bad as it all looks all I can say is I'm glad they all walked away. They are material toys that can be replaced. I can't replace my hubby and 3 great friends. Even the girl who started it all, I'm glad she wasn't seriously hurt. While our accident cleanup was going on on the southbound lanes, there was a bad accident on the northbound lanes right next to us. It didn't look as bad but the driver and passenger in the BMW that decided to try to drive under a cargo haulers truck had to be airlifted to the hospital. Never heard their outcome but the tow company showed me the pictures. As far as I know the girl who started it all was ok. By the time I got to the accident (about 1/2 hour after) she was driving away as I was pulling up. She had black tire prints on both sides of her car and a couple good crunches on each side. Amazing she was able to drive it away. It was a little Nissan Z car. Probably a good thing she was gone when I got there cuz I really wanted to throttle her for being stupid.
  16. Oh, it has seen better days... j/k The frame is completely tweaked, two (I think) shocks are bent, broke rear suspension, fin on top of engine is twisted, we think the engine & tranny are ok. I haven't even been in the trailer to look at it yet. We are trying to leave everything as is until the ins co does there thing. Don't want any complications. Hubby took some pics of it. I will post those a bit later.
  17. Here are some more pictures of the truck. It looks a lot worse during the day. We got the truck home a couple of weeks ago and it really rocked our world. We hadn't seen it since the night of the accident and it was on the freeway. We knew it was totaled but wow, what a difference daylight makes. Our stomachs turn everyday we walk outside and see it. The ins co is playing games so he had to get his lawyer involved. So there it sits until all is said and done. Day after day a constant reminder of how quickly ones life can change in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, all my guys were ok and are all doing good. Will keep you updated on the progress with the ins co. Oh yeah, and the new rail they will get. Sucks though, missed two Dumont trips so far due to all this.
  18. Boyd will be missed more than anyone could ever imagine. His funeral was pretty big, over 1,000 people. They had a very nice get together back at the Coddington shop after the funeral service. I wasn't able to make it to either, but my dad did. He has been a friend of Boyd's for over 25 years. The funeral was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Habra, CA (about a block from our house) on Wednesday, March 5th. I guess I could say no wonder why I love cars the way I do. I had some great influences. R.I.P. Boyd
  19. Unfortunately we will be missing the clean up this year. We will miss seeing everyone and helping clean up our wonderful Dumont. Due to the accident (pictures & story--bad ending to a good vacation) the sandrail is still wrecked, the truck & trailer are still waiting to be pronounced totaled (ins still screwing around) and to top it off my poor hubby has to have hernia surgery (probably next week). 2008 has just really sucked so far. It will get better though, I have faith. Be safe to all and give Vicki a big hug for all of her hard work. I am having major Dumont withdrawals. I haven't been since Thanksgiving.....
