  1. I sure HOPE that the new president does a good job, maybe even a better job than the one that is leaving office. I think every presidential election in my life time from most peoples viewpont, has had that same hope. Whether or it was great times or bad times. Whether it was the 1700's or the 2000's

Quite amazing that hmmm can't do the math right now but say 150yrs ago, our country's most deadly war was fought, not necessarily to free human beings from being owned by human beings, but that was the end result.

I for one am going to use my hopeful attitude to respect this Man that is about to become our president.

The worst thing I have ever said about our current and soon to be former president, is I didn't think he was doing a good job and that I haven't liked the way the war or "terrorism" has gone.

It really does bother me and dare I say it offends me to see some I said some of the blantant racial slams by Americans about the man about to become the 44th President of this great country.

Again I hope the new guy does a better job than the old guy!!!

  2. North of Vegas on the 95, you can ride up at cold creek and there are a few legaLL trails just before Kyle canyon on the left of the 1st road leading to Mt charleston. There is also a trail called bitter springs, right near the Moapa tribal truckstop/fireworks.

  3. Anybody leaving after 3 Friday afternoon? I would really like to go and try to do some soul cleansing out there........which I really need. But I have to do it dune groupie style :thumb: Vegas Style has been nice enough to offer to take my quad out there, but he is leaving Wed. I need to get as much work done as I can, so I need to work til afternoon on Friday, so is there anyone going out Fri that I could mooch a ride from??? I would ride back with Vegas Style on Sunday. Pm me or call me my number is in my signature. I told Steve I would let him know by noon Wed if I am gonna go.

  4. Chicks dig scars!!!!!!!!!!! I love hearing good news, I guess especially when it is related to bad news, way too much bad news in the world right now. Jon's recovery continues to help brighten the future!! Heal Jon heal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Wow.............................just wow. I am sitting here misty eyed!!!!!!!! I know a lot of people that are really having tough times lately including me..... But to hear the "good" news about Jon's progress.........to me it gives me hope and maybe some new strength. Thank you to the medical professionals who hardly ever seem to get credit these days!! Get well soon Jon!!!!!!

  6. This is kind of an amazing thread, there are so many opposing views of the same thing(s), funny thing is everyone has made good points, however opposite they all could be right?!! Will we ever truly know?

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center?

  7. Politics aside the oath we take is "to defend the United States of America from all enemies, foreign and domestic". Iraq did not pose a threat to us and isn't the country with the most severe human rights violations. We cannot be World Police and it is shame our proud Service Men and Women are dying for nothing. Afghanistan is a legitimate use of our forces as the Taliban supported Al Queda. Freedom and Democracy will never work in a Muslim country as they are the most intolerant of all religions. I was in Somalia and can tell you that they have been fighting forever (Muslims) and will continue to do so. They are the same religion but fight over who is actually practicing it the right way. WTF ? The true shame of that video is that a young man is missing a leg and when all is said and done it will have been for naught. Just my :woo_hoo: Semper Fi !

Wow, you sure put it, the way I have been thinking......... I sure hope our country makes a turn and things get better soon!!

  8. And this is exactly why farm machinery belongs on the farm hauling shiatt around and not out in the dunes. Who came up with that dumbazz idea anyway? Rhinos as a toy? WTF???

Hey now!!! :ah: My farm equipment did just fine out there!! I was rounding up cattle and pulling stuck dune trackers out!! You need a few "farm equipment" vehicles out there!!

Suzuki Chick, I am glad your friends are going to be OK! I only saw the Ford Ranger leading the Emergency Vehicles in, so that is the only thing I was an eye witness to. What I do know is that a Rhino tipped over and 2 people got hurt, one pretty severely. Do you think the driver of the rhino would drive any differently next time? I understand they are your friends. But people do not get compound fractures in CAMPING areas, unless they are driving faster or more reckless than is allowed or at least not being considerate of those around them. I don't know if Coral has speed limits in camp like dumont but, I don't think Rhinos would tip or roll over in camp, unless the driver was doing something wrong. It is ok to say my friend screwed up. Plus a good reminder don't let just anyone get behind the handlebars or steering wheel of your toys. It is very easy to run out of talent when you aren't used to a particular machine.

  9. Thank you so much Pete and Anna!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way I would have even thought about going on this trip until you invited me, thank you thank you.

I have never been a dune groupie before, wow what a difference, I think I may need to do it more often!!!!

I managed to ride 90 miles this trip, used almost 3 tanks of gas. What a difference a little rain makes in those dunes. What an amazingly beautiful place.

Nice seeing some peeps a havent seen in awhile. Wingnut and Crasher, Capt and Tina. Air force people sure like to party!!!!!!!! But if I were getting shipped out soon I would probably drink a lot more!!

Bert and Ashleigh's daughter is such a cute sweet baby!!!! The Dune tracker also makes a great playpen!!

I hope Pete gets some pictures up soon!!! My "Farm equipment" sure came in handy a few times!!

Again thanks Pete and Anna for the hospitality! Maybe the best dune trip I have ever had and if not the best at least one of the best!!

  10. I was heading up Rancho as it happened, all the sudden that big black plume of smoke appeared. it was really close to our shop!!

Had he stayed in the air another 10 seconds it would have been right on top of us. We are directly under the wesern flight path, we even get shadows of the planes in the skylights. Funny thing is Jerry was working in the shop and did not even notice the smoke or the choppers?

Really messed the power up in our area too.

  11. Wow do we really have to use this site for political stuff?? :laughoff::laughing: I guess that EVERYONE is happy with the current politicians and the way the economy is right now at this very moment in time.

Let's bring religion into the forum as well.

A couple of discussions I try to avoid at all costs. Religion and politics! One can always find an argument at the end of those roads.
