A bunch of used to take a Spring Break camping trip up there every year. Awesome place.
Thanks for the pics.

Nice job.
Thanks.
I wouldn't mind a report on your new paddle set up when you have had a chance to try them out. Been thinking about the same set up or a set of Doonz.

Well after @25 years I finally made it back out to Dumont last weekend. WOW. A lot of changes compared to the early 80's.
The RZR S did better in the sand than I thought it would. Got me thinking how much of a difference paddles would make.
The dunes haven't changed all of that much except for Comp. Don't recall it having a bowl at the base and being whooped out at all.
Trash. This was kind of depressing. Trash everywhere. I spent about an hour on Sun. morning picking stuff up around my camp and had 1/2 a big trash bag full.
Anybody know what that R-44 (helicopter) was taking pictures of?
Here are a few pics I took.

I saw these the other day and wondered if they'd be good for Dumont. Just don't get too close to the fire I guess. lol
Anyone have them or tried them out? They look pretty comfortable.
Costco has them the cheapest...

They look comfy, but I would put a hole in those things in nothing flat!

Anybody heading to Dumont this weekend? Gotta work Xmas and maybe New Years. Need to break the RZR in on the sand.

Congrats on the new addition. Mine is in the near future but I HAVE to put a Jacuzzi in for the boss lady before I can take the plunge.
Tons of great info over at www.rzrforums.net
I've been studying up for awhile now over there. There is a RZR S specific area but lots of good peeps and info all over the site. There is a big get together at the northern end of Glamis the first weekend of December where you can get four days and nights of camping for over 50% off. Good thread on it over there. Check it out.
What are they going OTD for there in Henderson?
MSRP $13,999. Got em to throw in about $1,500 in accessories and a few other items.

I bought mine from Mark at Performance Rhino. Great guy! I think it was just over $300.00. It's spendy but well worth it. It's a some what of a PITA to install. Let me know if you need a hand.
Thanks. $300 seems to be the average after a quick search. Found a set of instructions and it looks like fun (not).

and Crow 5 point belts.
New belts already on order. They should come standard in my opinion. With all the liability stickers stuck on this thing, you would think it would.
Thanks, Chris

Congrats on the RZR. Do yourself a favor and scrap the airbox ASAP and get an ump.
I am planning on getting one for my next "big" pucrchase. Any idea what the UMP costs?
Thanks

Although I don't actually work in the Vegas area, I commute to San Fran once a week. Being a pilot for Virgin America I get to ride on any other airline out there. The passenger loads coming in and out of Vegas are almost always way up there. I frequently get the last seat or ride up front. People are still coming to Vegas, guess they are just not spending as much when they get here. Additionally, our passenger loads have been way up system wide all summer wherever we go.
On the other hand, one Brother-in-law in SoCal is a Custom Cabinet maker and he is down to part time. The other Brother-in-law ran several crews for a stucco contractor and he is the last man standing.
Hopefully things will start to turn around for all soon.

Too many others to list.
While on the subject, any recs. for a good Micro Brew place in Henderson/Vegas?

Good guess on the direction. We were going from NY to LA. Got a shortcut that put us right over the top of the dunes.

Had me wondering, I knew it used to be a controlled air space with a 3000 ft ceiling when I was buzzin around the in the late '80s. So with it being a military flight area does it have a over/under limit like under 3k and when issued by ATC above 30+k or just when no military flights planned? Just curious
The restricted area runs just south of Dumont. Basically runs along I-15. Most of the areas in CA and NV run from the ground to 60,000'. Being a Sat., the airspace wasn't hot and they let us cut the corner.

That wasn't a commercial flight was it?
Yes it was. I am a pilot for Virgin America. Do the LA - NY trip a lot. Usually we fly to far south of Dumont to get any decent pics. Gotta a shortcut from ATC which allowed me to take that one. Want to get one of Coral Pink next.

There is a product called Aero Krill (sp) that is a good pernetrating oil or liquid wrench. Might try putting some heat to them too with a propane torch. Put anti-sieze on them when you re-install. Been using it for years on boat trailer wheels and never have a problem getting them off.

Was wondering if anyone has tried one of those Coleman Stove Top drip coffee makers and what they thought of it?
