Yep it's true. It's been a DDR.com tradition for years now. Hot? Not really after the sun goes down, but when you first get there...oh hell yeah its hot. Who cares though. It's a great time.

Actually, I really wanted to go to Dumont but a friend of mine called me last night and invited me to the Barstow Poker Run with him and I accepted.

Damn, i wish i could have finally seen that place i guess it will have to wait until next year.

we will be out at at the barstow poker run.....let me know...ill be in my small blue sandrail...we live in apple valley...so it wont be far for us...give us a jingle and we will hook up and do the run as a group :hatdance:

Hell the little girl next door was learning to ride her 2 wheel bike and "did quit well" until she bashed into the side of my other neighbors $200,000.00 MH and scratched it all to hell.

If dad wants to risk the life of his own kid, then do it where knowone else can get hurt.

i agree...the ppl should have been watching their kids way closer... i let my kids ride around on my SR. but they are 17. no different then letting kids ride around on rhinos. but ive been teaching my children since they were 12ish to ride and drive. but letting my kids at that age (12ish) ride around in a SR with lots of ppl... wouldnt have happenend with my kids. i think they were letting their child drive without anyone around on thursday (with very little ppl) . but got carried away. way to many ppl. to be learing to drive on Sat.

there is no problem with teaching your children to drive and ride on MC's or SR's but do it with safty, so things like this accedent dosn't happen.

and i feel bad for your neighbors 200k MH. i would have been PO'd

we would have them running circles..just look around... what we do is concidered unsafe. thats why these buggies and quads have warnigs on them advanced seat belts and harnesses, roll cages..etc. they are built for the "just in case" situation...furthermore ...what about all the ppl that drink, and party, and then go out duning and riding there quads and dirtbikes.??? would we have to call the PO PO on them. damn...to funny..

i watched the kid ride around on that sand rail on thursday..she did quit well...i just dont think i would not had her drive around when there were more ppl in the dunes...unlike thursday when there were not any ppl at all

well heres the real story... the crash happened right in front of my camp site...and the ppl that owned the car was camping right next to me. there was a 10 yr and a 12 yr old girl in the car..they were just cruising in the dunes directly in front of there camp..they have been doing sinse thursday when i showed up. she seemed to handle it quit well but was slightly scared of going up anything bigger then a dune like at the little dumont. she did hit a quad, i think it was a teen hispanic kid on the quad. they did have take him out on a straight board. My son helped the techs with the first aid and getting him to the BLM office. im not sure how bad the kid was hurt but i know it took about 15-20 mins. to get him on the straight board. the family of the kid was really PO'd when they showed up in their truck with the big Mexico flag on it asking who was the MF'r who hit him. after all that.. i witnessed the fire, blm, and highway patrol show up at the crash site, at the dunes in front of BR 3. thats all the info i have to offer.

up date...i just talked to my son.. and he said there were two ppl hit. one of them was on a pink quad. one bout 8-9ish wich was scraped up on her side. they took her in just to make sure she was ok...he told me that she seamed ok. the other kid was about 10-11ish yrs. and was hurt pretty bad. the driver and passanger of the SR were kids.. he stated they were prob around 10-13 yrs.

We tried to do one last Easter and ended up with just our camp there..

I think there may be more people coming out this year though last year was the Easter weekend before or after the clean up..

So sure I will be at the south pole at 2:00 SATURDAY!! Anyone else in??

or....I am pretty easy to spot in the dunes.. if you see me at the North Pole, at comp, in the sand, etc.. Just stop by and say hello!!!

What a great weekend. Took 6 hours to get there and 8 to get home. Didn't do any riding the first night, just drank and hung out. Did a lot of riding Sat and Sun. Met a few new people from here and alot of regulars. It gets easier after a few times of seeing you all to remember who is who.

I took very few pictures this time. My video camera didn't do good at all due to the fact that I brought crap batteries with me. Great time none the less.

My friend from work had a great time and it was his first time out there. I think he will be back too.
